Has anyone ever upgraded the cupholder are with the Escalade version, that has the 2 flip covers so it looks cleaner when not in use. Is it a simple pop out the old one and replace, or is there a lot of modifications for it to work
Had my Avy since new, but after 14 years, now matter how well you take care of things, stuff wears out.
My front seats are worse than the back, but want to see what good seat covers out there actually fit and look good. While I have no holes or tears, this last detail I can tell things will bound to happen.

Found this today when cleaning my wifes car. I dont usualy take the floor mats out and scrub them, basically just take them out and vaccuum the car, and put them back. Been a couple months since I have.
Decided today was a good day to give the car a good clean, so pulled all my floormats outs and scrubbed them clean like usual. But then I noticed this off colouration on the passenger side mat. At the bottom of the "darkness" the rubber is all rough as well. Sunlight hitting it somehow?
Something spilled maybe, but its like almost a perfect line? Anything above car wise that could drip down? I have never noticed anything wet there, but then again when it rains, etc these are wet anyway
She drives the car alone for the most part. But not sure if something mechanical I should look into. She has a road trip coming up which is why I am giving it a good once over
2012 Avalance LT, Where is the PCV valve located? Some searches say its a simple PCV valve, other things show its the entire valve cover and its buiit into that.

This last check everything lit up on my tester, except the BK light. Which is the Electric Brake controller light.
I know a few yearsa go I had a Service Trailer Brake system on the DIC come up, but it went away when I shut it off and never came back. I replaced the entire module at one time after this message, thinking it might be that. Since I have banged it many times with my knees over the years (bought new)
I check the #6 fuse under the hood and its fine. Is there another fuse for the brake controller? Or if this lights up in the DIC and I can adjust the gain, that means the fuse is good for the entire system
Duct seal works great, the colour isnt the best for matching. Can a person caulk over it with a matching colour so it hides it better for outside penetrations like pipes. Seems to be contradicting information on there.
I have to replace a lot of mine due to UV exposure, will this prevent that cracking for the future?

Usually where we live in Canada when its this cool we just open the windows due to the low humidity, but have kept the house closed up the last while due to this extreme humidity and rain
But of course, with people and cooking, the temps climb inside. So I left the AC on to help with that and of course get rid of inside humidity
Ecobee you can set the threshold of the outside temp to not turn on if its below a certain temp I had it the second highest which is 15.6. The highest is 18.3
Where does Ecobee get its temperature information from? I assume that's what it uses to decide if the ac turns on or not. Today it was around 16 degrees today according to a couple sources, but Ecobee said it was 17 degrees, but my 2 weather station and Environment Canada said 15 and 16 degrees.
Looking at my Beetstat app, the ac ran today but it said the outside temp was 17.8 degrees and the next run was 16.5 degrees But then Environment Canada said it was 2 degrees lower
Some searches show say not to run your ac at a certain temperature outside, which looks like 15 degrees. Is this a hard rule, since I dont have a dehumidifier in the house. Humidity isnt crazy in the house, just under our around 60%. Did I mess up my ac doing this? I had one 1 hour run yesteray, and one today

Ive kept this phone for a spare map phone in my truck for years, as a backup for whatever. I occasionaly updated the maps, but last time no idea.
Going to Ireland this summer and thought, hey that old phone will be good to bring along. Download the maps for over there and be set.
Reading more, seems thats no longer an option. Is there any work around for this? I mean I cant complain, and impressed the phone is still working after all these years.

Lived her for over 7 years, and usually this isnt an issue. I live in a really dry are in Canada, so any rain is great. But this June has been crazy with rain, and now under a rainfall warning.
The area by my fence, where the angel is, always with heavy rains gets flooded. I mean that spot seems to as well if I dont adjust my garden drip system correctly as well. Once the rain stops, this spot just absorbs the moisture. Are ground here is very heavy clay.
This area is far from the house, and I have 2 eavestrough in the back. The one picture, and one at the corner of my house which is extended probably 15 feet away into the garden, which might also feed this some.
What the cure for this? The cement I cant really drill weep holes in it since its literally ground level. Would I drill holes in the stone blocks? I do like that this wall helps with any outside pests getting in (minus mice). There is no one behind us, so its not getting extra water from neighbours

Owner of a 2012 LT since new. Have used from day 1 Mobil 1 synthetic and Mobil 1 filters. When I bought the truck, and some research, to change the oil when it hits 20% on the DIC oil maintenance. Have followed that since new, within reason, maybe 19% due to a trip that was longer than expected.
I know the thing is change it every 5000 miles (8000km) or 6 months. Im in Canada, so its kms
For the most part, the 6 month thing was never an issue. Family trips, camping, lived out of the city, naturally more milage.
But now with living in the city, and I pedal bike to work alot in the summer, and my kids are all adults now and dont take family trips as much, the usage is way down
Decided to go over my log book I keep, and thought lets see how accurate the 20% thing is. For the most part, within reason. Sometimes the milge intervals were closer to 6500 miles but the months ranged from 3 to 5 months.
But now with looking closer, the mileage is down, under 4000 miles. In fact my last oil change was 3531 miles. But the time was now 9 months. And I have a few 10 months now counting out the months the last couple years. I got my oil changed Apr 15, 2026 and the time before was Jul 7, 2025
MY goal with synthetic wasn't the long wait times, I just know its better. And looking at this now looks like I may have to switch to it every 6 months instead.
But would have caused any harm the last few years with the longer intervals? Im at 201K now, and recently had to swap out my one oil sensor. Which at 14 years old I cant complain. But starting 2020 it looks like my intervals were 7 and 8 months, which is when I moved back into the city
The Medicine Hat Police Service has charged 54-year-old James Heath of Medicine Hat with two counts of indecent acts following an investigation into incidents reported in a residential neighbourhood.
Police received a complaint in early June regarding a male allegedly committing an indecent act while visible from outside his residence on two separate mornings in May and June.
An investigation was completed, including a review of video evidence, and the matter was forwarded to the Major Crimes Unit.
On June 24, 2026, Heath was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of indecent acts. He was released on conditions following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat court on July 15, 2026.

Some info says he may of been outside as well.. But if he wasnt, and was in his own home. How hard did this person look to see this. Does anyone stream these stations using Amazon Alexa? Has anyone noticed the last few weeks or more than when you play them, they always repeat, or skip or both when you start them? Ive done all the troubleshooting I can do, and its seems to be only them. Since they are the same broadcaster, wondering if anyone else has this issue.

Wife and I are going to Ireland this August for 2 weeks. We have never traveled international before. In fact even when we go to the US, which now we dont, we never used our phones. We would use free wifi for messenger.
I am fine not texting or using my phone the entire time. Picture taking sure, and free wifi where ever. Wife thinks we should have one phone active in case.
What plans are good for a temporary use like this? I dont care if I have data the entire time there. IN fact Id be fine not even having a phone for 2 weeks.

I have my mortgage rewnewal date of Mar 1, 2028. I am with BMO. I locked in for 3 years due to the amount left and a retirement coming up (wifes) with her last day Jun 2027, she is a teacher.
With BMO you can renew up to 6 months early from your renewal date, and as well that works out for paying off early to. So that would be Sep 1, 2027
We could probably just pay it off now, but at the cost of using up some funds we really dont want to touch. Mortgage rate is low anyway and I dont want to give the bank any extra money over this
We make extra payments now as it is, and we may increase them more so when Sep 2027 rolls around the amount left will be low.
But that cant just be it to pay off a mortgage. What other things do I need to do so this goes smoothly. Having a mortgage for 29 years now, never thought to much besides paying it off.

This is our garage fridge, bought about 7 years ago. Noticed some brown dust at the bottom of the fridge and thought something was spilled. But taking things out, not the case, looks like rust dust, Cleaned up the area as good as I could, and all the paint flaked off as I wiped it off.
USed for everything a garage fridge is for from booze to food
This is in a heated garage but not cooled garage in the summer. Live in Canada, so in the winter the humidity can get high due to snow melt, even with a drain. I do all I can to control it, but can only do so much.
What could be the cause of this, and as well, can this be prepped and painted with something to stop the progress. Not sure how long its been there.
We all know running your fan ON instead of AUTO will reintroduce all the moisture on the coils into the house again, defeating the purpose of humidty removal.
Is there a amount of time a person should wait to restart the fan. I have an HRV interlocked with my furnace fan, and have the advantage of low outside humidty to remove even more humidty from the air without using ac. Today it was 19% outside.
I get long run times and my humidty is controlled, but if I can make things for efficient with what I own, id like to do that
I have an ac condensation line that a part of is clear, so I can and see if water is flowing. The ac condensate goes into a line that drains into the plumbing. I have no clogs, clean and flush it every year. Works with gravity and really no issues.
But it seems if I remove the clear line, the water comes out from the ac pan faster than when I attach it. Is there an air lock of sorts that would do this. It still drains with it attached, it just seems to be slower then when I remove it and just hold it under neath to test, the drip speed increases.
Case of water tension maybe?
