I recently imported some old photos to the Tab (Samsung) and the photos are arriving with Metadata... are they sorted out the metadata problem ?
Can i finally import all the photos from there to the device and cancel my Subscription?
Sri Lankan railway lines still remain largely the same as how the british left them. The only significant modern expansions our governments have completed are the Matara-Beliatta line (part of the Matara-Hambantota expansion project) and another very short, track built to connect Mihintale to the northern line back in late 90s ig. they've also made some improvements by doubling the tracks in the Colombo and Kandy metro areas.
Ratnapura and the East Coast population clusters remain the only major left-out parts of the Sri Lankan railway network. but the government has recently initiated works to connect ratnapura to avissawella by extending the kelani valley line.
In my opinion, extending the Batticaloa line to Pottuvil would be absolutely useful for the locals, so many travel to Batti and get in the train for Colombo (especially me who vomits all the way in buses😭) but there is a clear track-building problem. The entire Ampara east coast is densely populated and already well-connected by buses, so the tracks would likely need to be routed inland through the rural areas of central camp & Vaangaamam people. however, I don't think state planning will happen this way since the rural areas don't align in in way.
In terms of improving tourism, there is currently a low volume of tourist travel between Arugam Bay (Pottuvil) and Pasikudah (Batti). Most travelers clear out toward Trincomalee instead, but no direct railway connection exists between Batti and Trinco. ultimately, extending the Southern line through hambantota and Moneragala to the East Coast would be a significant breakthrough for tourism, since many travelers actively journey from the Southern beaches up to Arugam Bay.
context... Tamil speaking Government officers & police should be appointed on Tamil Majority areas.. am i wrong..
meanwhile the amount of National awards missed by KH will eat D's Filmography.. but look how humble he is...
Kamal only received 3 National Awards for Acting - Moondram Pirai , Nayakan & Indian.
One as a Producer for Thevar Maghan (also Writes the film)
One president medal at the age of 5 or 6 in his First Film... the record was only broken recently. (he immediately calls that child and wishes)
you can clearly see how ignored KH is...
he knows the politics, kamal didn't received Dadasaheb Phalke award.. - it's given to the amount of contributions they did to the Indian Cinema... do you think is there anyone Eligible other KH to this award...
Big B received it in 2018, Thalaiver in 2019, Lelatten in 2023, Mammokka gonna receive soon.. i don't think current government will do this to him.
yess.. he has absolute records in awards... but this man's action shows how passionate and humble he is for cinema...
meanwhile D 🤦♂️
I'm totally obsessed with Sri Lanka's bike culture. We don't have many of those bikes here, but they have so many world-famous bikes.😴
Idk by whom these lists are made by. but these lists always comes as wrong. tdy someone posted this. (i don't blame him). but everytime some media or website create these lists.. it's always missing some movies.. mostly veryy old ones.
these are the real top contenders that are rated higher than 8.3
rated 8.4
rated 8.5
rated 8.6
rated 8.7
I'm disappointed that masterpieces like Hey Ram, Super Deluxe, Kannathil Muthamittaal & many more aren't rated high enough.
and let me know which movies i missed
*expensive
i won't say i don't like the mental design of this.. but we could've had a Hypertall Building instead of this.. it would be be much better contribution for the Colombo Skyline & would've created much attention in international stage.
Hambantota MC is the 2nd largest Municipal Area (83km²) in SL just behind Kaduwela MC (87km²) but it is the least populated one with around 20k.
i marked the Hambantota MC borders & Tangalle Urban Council border just for reference.
for context the smallest MC which is Akkaraipattu (7km²) has around 35K people.
They built 4 lane roads with bypassing interchanges in-between just for an A grade road crossing another B grade road. what the fk is there to do this level of development?
the whole Mattala Airport is useless... also the Harbour. they could improved the Colombo Port by Huge Scale with that money..
they built a dry zone botanical garden there 😭🤦♂️😂😂.. damn.. they tried sooo hard to change that dryland into a MegaCity with all this stuff.
There was a new very tall building for Hambantota District General Hospital standing out of nowhere.. that's something useful for people. leave it. so many people got out from the bus in the Hospital Stop.
and then the highway they built. it's not a waste of money coz that's part of long proposed island wide Expressway Network. but they should've stopped by Beliatta. that's where the southern Population Cluster ends. and then they should've focused on Central Expressway which is the more important one.
but they extended it to Mattala (they even planned to end the Highway in Kataragama). and moreover they built another E06 highway (6km btw) just for connecting Hambantota to Southern Expressway. they could've justified it by connecting the Harbour i think. but no any Big Cities near Southern Expressway such as Kalutara , Galle , Matara got direct connection via Particular Highways. their was an access road built in Galle but the whole road goes through Metro Areas.
They also had the plan to extend the railway untill Kataragama i think. but the project stopped with phase one which is where the railway line ends in Beliatta. the Railway line they built from Matara to Beliatta is the one and only time Sri Lanka built railway after independence. there's so many population clusters badly needs railway connections but they prioritises a dry land after all these years. they could've easily built the more important projects such as proposed rail line within colombo metro area or Ratnapura line or Kalmunai Region East coastal line.
and i don't even know how much money went into developing Hambantota without my knowledge. this is what all i could see in a single trip.
