Past lives

As someone who is about 60% of the way in belief of past lives. Can you explain to me why you believe in past lives and any stories or examples that you have or personally experienced that makes you believe in past lives?

Is there really light at the end of the tunnel?

I’m currently going through a divorce with someone who is a diagnosed narcissist. This is the most difficult thing I’ve ever been through and I have a three month old son. Does life really get better even when I have to see his dad every other weekend? Please tell me it gets better.

Update: I am mainly talking about finding love again and getting over the ex.

Husband left me with less than $10 in our joint bank account.

Location: Texas

I’m going through a divorce in Texas and am looking for experiences from people who have dealt with something similar.
My husband and I have a joint marital bank account that we previously used for our household expenses. At the beginning of March, after the divorce proceedings began, my husband stopped contributing his income to our joint account. Instead, he opened a completely separate bank account and began keeping his income there.
He did not transfer money out of our joint account. The issue is that he stopped putting his income into the account we had been using for our household.
Throughout this entire divorce process, he still used this account to pay for all of his expenses, such as rent groceries gas insurance.
I am currently caring for our newborn and have been left with essentially no money. At this point, I have about $5 available to care for myself and our baby. I have asked him directly to start contributing his income to our joint account again because I need access to money for basic necessities and emergencies, including things like formula for our son.
He ignored that message.
I have an attorney, and I have brought the financial situation to their attention. what typically happens in Texas when one spouse stops contributing income to the marital household during a pending divorce, particularly when the other spouse is caring for a newborn and has essentially no access to funds?

Howdy everyone, I am a single mom moving to the west Austin area. I am working near Bee Cave and am wondering if there are any daycare recommendations for infants. If you could please let me know which ones are the best and the safest. Thanks!

Favoritism

A few months ago, I asked my husband for a divorce and moved back in with my parents. I also just had a baby, so it’s been an incredibly overwhelming season of life.

Growing up, my parents always seemed to favor my brother. He’s the golden child and, in their eyes, can do no wrong. My brother has a history of becoming physically aggressive toward me when he’s angry. One example: he got into an argument with my mom, and because he was upset, he grabbed me by the hair, lifted me out of a chair, and threw me headfirst onto the tile floor hard enough to knock the wind out of me. There have been many other incidents over the years, but my parents have always dismissed it as “normal sibling rivalry.”

Because of that history, I’ve decided that I don’t want my son to have a relationship with my brother. My parents are furious. They believe I’m only doing it to hurt my brother’s feelings, not because I’m trying to protect my child. Their response is always, “He would never hurt a child.”

The therapist I currently see also happens to be the same therapist my parents see, so he’s familiar with both perspectives. He has openly told me that my parents appear to favor my brother and even commented that they talk about him “like he’s a god.” One of the main things we’re working on is learning how to stop letting their favoritism affect me and how to protect my own peace.

The problem is that my parents dismiss my feelings. They tell me I’m overreacting or that I’m just an emotional person. Going through a divorce while caring for a baby has already been difficult, and I don’t have a large family for support. Right now, it feels like all I really have is my son and a few close friends. I’m also job hunting and am currently in the later stages of interviewing for a job I’m really excited about, so I’m trying to stay hopeful.

I guess my question is: has anyone else dealt with parents who consistently favored a sibling and invalidated your experiences? How did you protect your mental health, especially when you couldn’t completely cut ties? I’d really appreciate hearing what helped you.

Favoritism

A few months ago, I asked my husband for a divorce and had to move back in with my parents. I just had a baby. My parents have always seemed to like my brother over me. He is the golden child and can seem to do no wrong. My brother has a history of putting his hands on me when he’s upset for example he got into an argument with my mom and because he was angry, He lifted me out of the chair by my hair and threw me headfirst onto the tile floor and knocked the wind out of me. There are many other instances like this that have occurred, but my parents only seem to think it’s “sibling rivalry”. Because of these instances, I have decided not to let my son have a relationship with my brother. My parents are furious at this and think that I am just doing it to hurt my brother‘s feelings and not for the safety of my son because in their eyes, my brother can do no wrong and “he would never hurt a child”. the therapist that I currently see is also the same Therapist that my parents see and so he’s familiar with their side of things and my side of things. He has openly told me that my parents seem to favor my brother saying how they talk about him like he’s a god. So one of the things that my therapist and I are working on is how to not let it affect me and how to protect my peace from them and their favoritism towards my brother. My parents seem to think that my anger at the situation is dumb and they seem to think that I’m just an emotional person. Since I’m currently going through a divorce and I don’t have a big family it feels like all I have is my son and a few friends. I am currently job hunting like crazy and I’m actually in the latter half of an interview process for a really good job 🤞🏻. The question that I have is has anybody been through this and what are some things that I can do to protect myself mentally?

Will the pain ever stop?

For context, I had to ask my husband for a divorce because he was deeply enmeshed with parents and never truly wanted the best for me. I do believe he loved me at one point, but his actions during our marriage showed differently. Before we got married it was the healthiest most loving relationship I’ve ever had and that is the man that I’m grieving not the one I was married to. In a way, I feel like the man that I was supposed be married to is dead. I don’t know how to get the pain to stop and I don’t know how to move on because this was the divorce I never wanted but he ultimately forced my hand after countless attempts trying to reason with him and hundreds of hours of therapy. I can’t help but think if maybe I had done something differently then he might’ve changed and might’ve chosen to put me first.

How do you deal with someone who thinks the divorce is all your fault?

For context, I asked him for a divorce because he was enmeshed to his parents and would not stop putting them above me. I can’t help but think if I had just been kinder towards the end or maybe done something different than he would want to put me first and he would choose me (I never made him choose fyi I always wanted him to have a good relationship with his parents and frequently told him that as well). I also asked him for a divorce because he needed a complete control over where we live what we do how we worship and how we raise our kids and told me this word for word. I am just so broken and have no idea how to move on because he keeps telling me that this divorce is all my fault.

How did you find closure after a divorce when you never got the apology or accountability you wanted

For context I married someone who is now telling me everything is my fault and that he is praying for a way to forgive me. For context there is no cheating of any type. I just asked him for a divorce because he constantly put his mom and dad before me and tried to control my life and career. He has genuinely convinced himself everything is my fault.

Divorce clause

For those of you who were married to a control freak, what were some of the clauses you put in the coparenting arrangement document? (I don’t really know the exact name of these documents. Clearly.) since he is not an alcoholic or a drug addict or physically abusive there’s not really much I can do to get full custody.

Am I being difficult?

I’m really struggling with this. I’m currently going through a divorce after just having a baby. My mother-in-law messages me every now and then asking about my son, but she never once checked on me or the baby during my pregnancy.
One of the biggest reasons I asked for a divorce was because my husband involved his parents in every problem we had instead of talking to me. His mom never encouraged him to work things out with his wife. Instead, our private issues became family discussions both of his siblings and his parents.
As hurt as I am, I still want my son to have a relationship with both sets of grandparents because I know they’ll love him. But it’s hard when I feel like they’ve never acknowledged the hurt or treated me with the respect I deserve as his mother.
They are the kind of people who will shake your hand and piss in your pocket. They couldn’t be more nice to my face but behind my back is a completely different story.
I have not responded to any other text messages and don’t plan to and I’m wondering if that is selfish of me

I am in need of guidance

This past February my husband and I separated. A week before this happened I asked God "if this marriage is not meant for me then remove me from it." my question is this, if I was not supposed to be with my husband then why did I feel so spiritually encouraged to marry him? Why would this happen?

Divorce while pregnant

I know this is long but I could really use the advice/support. My husband (23M) and I (24F) have been married for about a year and a half. In early February, I asked him for a divorce. The day before, he gave me an ultimatum, he said that if I couldn’t forgive his parents for their involvement in our marriage, then he refused to continue being married to me.

The morning I asked for a divorce, I tried to have a conversation about how we could make the marriage work. During that conversation, he told me that he needed complete control over our lives where we live, how we worship, how we raise our children, and what decisions we make. He also told me that he should come first in the marriage and that I come second, and that my decision to go back to school was “handicapping” him and limiting his success.

About a month after we got married, I discovered that he had been regularly going to his parents to vent about me ( really nasty things were said about me) whenever we had disagreements (before and after our wedding) This led to his parents forming negative opinions about me, which further strained the relationship because he holds on to their every word. Throughout our marriage, he continued to involve them in our personal matters, and their influence appeared to shape his perception of me over time. He would constantly lie to me to protect their image.

I am currently a master’s student pursuing a degree in nutrition, which I am very passionate about. Before we were married, he encouraged me to go back to school, saying it would make me happy. However, after we got married, I learned that he had been speaking negatively about my education to his parents, saying I didn’t deserve it and questioning why I wouldn’t simply follow him and support his career ( it was his idea to have me go back to school). This was especially difficult because my original plan had been to support his career (I had started a teaching certification so that I could follow him wherever he went) before deciding to return to school.

There were also conflicts related to faith. I consider myself a religious person, but I have been struggling with my faith over the past year and a half due to personal reasons. I ended up writing a 30 page paper trying to get him to understand where I was coming from and why I was struggling with the Catholic faith. He ended up being that paper to his bff and the two of them decided that my conversion was not real and that he wanted a divorce because of it. My conversion was real btw. During that time, I felt judged and criticized by my husband and his family, who are very involved in the church. I was made to feel like a disappointment and was told that my struggles meant I was not a true Catholic, which contributed further to my emotional distress. He also kicked me out of the house last October while I was pregnant for wanting to go on birth control bc he said he could not engage in my sin.

After I asked for a divorce, I went to stay with my parents for a weekend, which was something I rarely did. When I returned, my husband refused to speak to me. For about three weeks, despite my efforts to communicate respectfully, especially for the sake of our child, he ignored my calls and did not reach out to check on me or the baby. Every weekend he would drive three hours and stay with his mom and dad and then return late on Sunday. During that time, I was couch surfing while trying to make arrangements to move back in with my parents. About a week before I asked him for a divorce I cried myself to sleep because he told me that he married me for who he hoped I would be and not who I am.

The only conversation we had lasted about ten minutes, during which he told me that the divorce was entirely my fault and that I was choosing to be a single mother. Additionally, several members of his family have reached out to me and expressed concern that he seems more focused on his reputation than on his responsibilities to his wife and child.

In the beginning of March, I got a knock on my parents front door after I moved back home and it turns out he had went behind my back and filed for divorce and had me served ( my attorney advised me to wait till after the baby was born because we don’t own a house together or any property besides our apartment, which is why I hadn’t filed).

My contribution to this divorce is that towards the end I just became numb and very short and blunt and I didn’t really talk a lot and I will admit I was honestly kind of mean to him I told him I didn’t trust him, and that I was miserable in our marriage. I basically stonewalled him.

I just thought I would come on here and vent and see what anybody has to say about this situation.
