Monsoon tree branch fell on car panel above number plate and broke!

What I feared the most happened! Its been 15 days since the car delivery from True Value.
Although the RC transfer procedure was started promptly by the showroom from the next day of sale, and I even got a validation call from rto, its still under process.
Today due to monsoon a tree branch fell on the car panel from back and it broke.
What are my options here?
I had asked the showroom to transfer the insurance to my name as RC transfer can take anywhere from 3-4 months and as per law its to be done within 15 days, but they denied saying until RC transfer is done they cant transfer insurance.
Currently rc and insurance both are in showroom's name in parivahan app.

2020 AMT IGNIS 8.6 kmpl AC mileage city

I recently got a true value maruti Ignis which has been serviced well with asc records 47k kms done.
I got PDI done and all is well. Its under 3 free services and 6 months warranty. The ride from showroom to home was 20+ kms and before it the tank was empty so we filled power petrol.
However the MID shows just 8.6 kmpl mileage. How accurate is this? Is full tank method only my last chance to exactly know? The car was provided without fuel.
I very well understand that mileage depends on driving style however how can it drop from the usual 15 to like half?

Insurance on second hand car

I purchased a second hand IGNIS from maruti true value last week and RC transfer will take 4 months minimum. The insurance is valid till march 2027.
However the salesman said to drive carefully until then as insurance cant be claimed without RC transfer and insurance transfer cant be done without RC transfer( Is this true or is showroom avoiding facts?)
They said they do this for all vehicles on True Value. How does it happen on olx, spinny, cars24?
Isnt there a rule which makes it mandatory for insurance transfer within 14 days of sale?

Second hand car PUC responsibility

Bought a second hand IGNIS car from Maruti True Value today. The PUC is expired and will need renewal. Is it my responsibility or the showroom should have done it from their end before the sale?
I understand they should have filed the renewal before expiry and now there will be penalty too.
Also it seems I cant get fasttag until RC is done?
Thoughts?
What is the right procedure to proceed ahead?

How to improve driving vehicle skill?

25M no vehicle in my family yet not even scooty. Joined 20 days driving school and passed my permanent license test yesterday however I am still not confident in parking/taking reverse/taking out car from small gaps swiftly. I am taking lot of test drives.
For example today was embarrassing. It was my first time driving automatic. In front of LEMS school junction near new manis cafe - there is no signal and all vehicles come at once. The spinny guy scolded at me for driving too closely to other vehicles. I didnt harm or touch the vehicle however was pretty close for a nick as per him. Car was at a slow speed though. He ended the test drive right there.
The driving school I went to didnt teach me how to navigate from small patches of street or any complex things like parking. As per them it all comes by practice. I understand that and I am looking at second hand cars currently for same reason to get expert before i buy a new one. However I am pretty scared after this incident. I have no problem in driving at proper roads with traffic signals.

Newbie first family car mumbai

Forever grateful to this supportive community for valuable advices and suggestions!

lets keep aside tata's notorious service for a moment!

I wouldnt be driving at high speed or any long drives either. It will be only a weekend car to nearby cafes or movies or at max a 10km drive to office in mumbai traffic rarely. Daily usage will be to gym 1km away.
Longest coverage will be thane to marines as long drive.

I understand TATA's AMT is not the best or smooth and will be laggy and jerky when I overtake.

if I will have to use it just to clean hands as a new driver for 2-4 years, how is this Nexon PDI - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wYTKQ0FhFG2QsqlQjbjJLBOlxgci8fox/view?usp=sharing ? I will be buying a new car once I am confident in 2 years mostly. Can I expect 1/2 price of my buying when I try to sell it after few years as a 3rd owner?

I am only interested in automatic transmission. I see second hand car market is extremely inflated due to middle men comissions and cuts. Even in local cars dealerships same is the case.

Car enthusiasts have suggested me to go for true value maruti breeza jazz honda Ignis hyundai i10-20 for better experience as first time driver.

However I cannot find it in 4 lacs budget or they would be 3-4 owners or 2015-2018 ish models or they would be in 6-8 lacs range where I can get a new amt punch 2026 instead.

Wagonr and Dzire give absolute uber ola vibes.

Dealbreaker for me would be the car shouldnt feel powerless on climbing a flyover in city with 4 passengers and max AC in mumbai heat. I understand mileage will be 8-10 kmpl same as other petrol amt mahindra tata cars due to heavy body.

Clarifications regarding structural damages and accidental repairs - Since car was taken 13 times to service within 3 years - should this be considered huge red flag or good care within 13k KMs? Technician who was hired by me advised that car is in good condition and all things listed in report are normal wear and tear. Car isnt listed on CARS24 so he has no merit to lie. He told me fair price would be 3-3.5 lacs instead for this. As per him car has NOT been in major accident or collisions and airbags have never been deployed as per report. Second owner mentioned damages are only parking related minor scratches and dents which I have seen and okay with.

Final thoughts - should I negotiate this down or drop the deal considering huge red flags and quoted repair work? Thanks all!

I am holding 30 lacs worth of nifty bees with current loss of about 2.5 lacs.
Horizon: long term 5-7 years+
I am thinking to redeem this and invest 50% in HDFC Flexi and 50% in PPFAS as I think due to their fund size both will approx align their returns to large cap/nifty 50 returns in long term plus PPFAS provides good down aide protection too.
I think both funds although active will outperform the BMK.
The idea of booking loss is to offset future gains of STCG. However how much STT will i occur in this transaction?
Overall Thoughts?
