I’m trying a more myth accurate approach to writing Marvel Thor and wanted to ask the experts some questions

I’ve been watching the Mythology Guy on YouTube and have discovered that sometimes being more accurate can better storytelling.

With that in mind I know a lot is going to change from what’s what in Marvel, starting with Thor.

Since Thor is god of the common folk and their defender it’s not too much of a stretch to say he’d join a group of superheroes. I was thinking instead of being elitist he could have trouble adjusting to contemporary values of the people and actually working with a group and coming to grips with how humans are developing power that rivals the gods. Maybe this could be a point of tension between him and the Norse pantheon growing fearful of mortal’s power.

Then there’s Thor’s rogues gallery. Loki became more satanic in the myths after Christianity was introduced to Scandinavia, so would “real” Loki still be a prankster or an outright villain? Hel has no reason to antagonise Thor so who else in mythology has reason to conspire against Thor/Asgard. In fact how many figures in mythology would support villains?

Then there’s what Asgard and the other realms look like I know Svartalheim is supposed to be underground and I’m fine with that, but what layer of reality is it? Is it the same level as Nifleheim? In fact how do the nine realms actually work? I’ve heard in some myths that the realms are a normal traveling distance from each other so what gives? Is Asgard on a round planet like Midgard or is it an infinite flat plain like Minecraft or Olympus in Percy Jackson?

Then there’s Asgard itself. Is it a castle with Valhalla on the inside? Does anything live in Asgard aside from gods and the souls of dead warriors? Is there a city behind that wall the Giant built? What’s outside the wall? Can the rainbow bridge be a teleporting system that “bridges” worlds together?

I'm rewriting The Boys and was wondering how to write parody?

I'm taking notes about how The Boys has fallen in terms of quality and I was thinking one way to improve it would be improving how it parodies American culture. Trouble is I'm not American so I'm an outsider looking in, which makes it harder for me. I've been watching videos and reading history in attempts to catch up, but I'm still so lost.

I was thinking one way to do it is by writing better parodies of superheroes, which I have done with Tek-Knight (made a post about it a while ago), as well as what's happening in America. Instead of making America Nazi Germany, it should be closer to what ICE is doing; untrained civilians and supes rounding up immigrants, dissenters, I'm not sure and deporting them.

This is why I'm asking you for your opinion. What do you think would make an interesting parody that reflects hypocrisy, American culture, Trump, etc?

Where can I find an in depth Analysis of Janet Van Dyne's character?

I'm trying to write marvel fan fiction in the hopes I can really write for Marvel one day and I'm trying to learn exactly how characters are supposed to be written.

I find it's easier for me if I read what their character is about first so I can see how it plays out in the runs I read. Does anyone know where I can find a thorough analysis of Janet's character or maybe give me a breakdown of it in the comments?

I have a question for Russian fans about how they’re home country would actually treat superheroes

As a big superhero fan I've always wondered how Russia would treat their superheroes. Recently I read a post saying that Russia's tradition is not having superheroes, which made me want to ask you how do you think your country would handle something like Mutants in the Marvel universe.

P.S forgive me if I'm wrong, but I always thought if Captain America was real, Russia would look at him and say "I got to get me one of those"

The Quirkless are woefully under explored in My Hero Academia and I want to change that in my eventual rewrite. However, I'm at a loss on how to explore them.

I see Midoriya's school laugh at him for wanting to be a hero and for no one to really defend him, but I'm not sure if that reflects broader systemic problems, or his meagre nature at the time. Bakugo did bully him and say he was worthless without a quirk, but again that's something more personal to Bakugo than actual bigotry.

From what I've been able to see, if you just sign up for a program and train, regardless of hero or no, you can use your Quirk for whatever job you apply to. This would naturally create a discrepancy between people with quirks, who could do the work of ten quirkless with their ability.

It seems to me that unless it's police, military or something of that nature, your options as quirkless are severely limited.

I need to know to do this right, because I have an idea for a Quirkless revolution and the last thing I need is to find out it's unfounded halfway through writing it.

I mean how would you have included him being the world's greatest detective, unbeatable martial artist, all that stuff? How would that have changed the story?

Also his villains, Ra's being immortal, Bane having Venom, or Poison Ivy controlling plants.

I know Chris was going for more grounded and while I respect creative liberty, it does take away a lot of what makes Batman so compelling. Imagine if they tried "grounded" with Harry Potter or Star Wars.

If you watch the short animated film "Batman: Broken Promise" you'll find how to make Batman mythical while keeping him human.

I'm trying to find an image, but I can't remember the name or artist or even where I found it, but I do remember that the texture and colouring of the drawing looked similar to these two.

The image I was looking for however, is of a green and yellow armoured character that looks something like Master Chief.

I got the images shown here from Pineterest. They were from this guy, Brennen Hopson, but I couldn't find them when I entered and his gallery looks pretty inconsistent in terms of style. At least to me
