Labor Day Weekend Visit

Hello!

I’m planning to bring my wife up for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary and I know she would love the Glass Museum. Having never been to Corning are there good cafes, restaurants, consignment shops and boutique shopping?

Thanks!!

Federal donuts, permanently closed?

Saw on Lancaster takeout and dining Facebook page that federal donuts is already permanently closed. Does anyone know anything about this?

The source was an employee that worked there, she says in her post that federal donuts told them all to leave and that they were closed permanently because they could not afford the repairs to air-conditioning and plumbing system in that building.

Worth Fixing?

Hey everyone! I received this Leica ii Model D (at least that’s what I assume it is) in a trade a while back. I’ve shot M3, M4 and M5 before so I thought this would be a cool addition.

It doesn’t fire and needs a CLA, lens could probably do with some love but I don’t see any haze or mold.

Is it actually worth fixing? If fixed I imagine that I would shoot it over selling it.

Anyone have one of these that you can share some shots from?

KR1 - Best way to break in?

I grabbed three KR1s on the sale for my kiddos (all under age 10)

What is the best way to break in the stiff straps? They love the bags but hate the straps. My GR1 is 10 years old so it’s been a while…

Please don’t say - just wear it, they can suck it up or anything like that. They are kids…I want to take them on adventures and I’d rather have broken in straps and a happy kid.

Contax AX | Zeiss 50mm f/1.7 | Expired Fuji Superiora 400

I wanted to try out my (new to me) Contax AX. Popped a 30 year old roll of film in and asked the wife to be my model. I was super happy with the results and LOVED the pink hue from the expired film!

Adventure bag - GR1 The American

I’ve had this for ten years, purchased it new. It has come everywhere with me! Took a cross country trip and have added 9 more states to its adventures. Got this cool patch in the Denver Yeti store!

First Patagonia items! $100 for the lot in a consignment shop in Denver, CO!

Super excited for my new Patagonia gear, hopefully it lasts a lifetime!

I’ve always been interested in Contax cameras, I love the crazy amount of tech in them. I’d never seen an AX before but I was in Retro Photo Reading today and this caught my eye. I couldn’t look away…I know this could be a glorified paper weight at some point in the future but for now I’m excited to try it out!

Anyone have one of these that can provide tips/tricks? It seems wildly overbuilt

PSA - I have been a faithful GoRuck GR1 user for ten years now and decided to snag this packable ripstop bullet from the current sale, honestly it was only $40 and it was such a waste. I feel like I’m back in middle school wearing a drawstring bag. The shoulder straps were flimsy, zippers were hard to pull and because there is no structure packing was a nightmare unless you had jackets and snacks. I’m not sure what this is actually intended for (apart from beer per their video demonstration) I would recommend you save your cash until you’re ready for a standard bullet.
