Has anyone ever tried "quad quirl" antennas?
I can't find anything about them except this site and would like to know how they compare to skew planar/cloverleaf antennas.

I still had an aluminium box from a school project, so I decided to put my batteries in it. Cut out some foam so they don't just fly around in there. I think it looks nice.
I want to replace the voice lines of this remote with Half Sword SFX. So far I have "Let not thy hand be heavy upon me" as startup sound and mindless screaming when the remote loses connection to the quadcopter. Also the startup image is Willie and the HS logo.
The next ones to replace would be for when the remote initially connects to the quadcopter and for when it regains connection after losing it. Also there could be one for when one of the switches isn't in the correct position during startup or when the throttle isn't all the way down.
Any ideas?
The best idea I came up with is the one in the video. Going out from under the canopy (not through the hole in the back so I don't have to disconnect the antenna when I want to remove the canopy, want to secure the connector with T-7000) and attached using a rubber band. If I put the band directly around the antenna, it's pretty secure, but I'm afraid the rubber band could slip off at some point.
If I put the rubber band around the cable below the antenna, it can't slip off but is loser.
Any other ideas?
Please ignore that some canopy screws are missing, I'm not flying anyway at the moment becuase my AIO is broken.
The signal is noticably better than with the pagoda antenna I was using before. I'm gonna make a second one with thinner wire and probably just put both of them on my goggles. I have a patch antenna but it's not much better than the skew planar, and I don't want to think about how I have to hold my head while flying.
I'll probably put some kind of protective coating on the antennas so they don't get bent. Any ideas?
I'm building a 7" for a trick idea I had where I fly so close over myself that the props cut the goggle antennas off and the quad crashes behind me. I will tape a few small LiPos to the frame for extra smoke and flames.
I mean, I know what it's used for etc, but is there an actual scientific term for the shape of the antenna inside the lollipop-like casing?
Hey, I set something up in Betaflight so I can change the VTX power of my Meteor75 using a switch on my radio. My hope was that in case I suddenly lose video I can quickly switch to a higher power and recover.
But it seems like changes to the vtx power don't always update immediately. When I switch from 25mW to 100 or 400mW, it takes a few seconds for the image to become clearer. Weirdly enough, this is not the case when I switch back down, in that case the image gets bad immediately.
I don't have an option to actually measure the output power so maybe it's just my goggles? But I'm not sure how that would make sense.
I recently got a Meteor75. Flew about 30min indoors with it, crashed a lot and very hard, but so far nothing really broke. This thing is robust as hell.
Then a hair got stuck in one of the bearings, I disassembled the motor to get the hair out and accidentally bent the prop.
Anyway, I'm impressed and this thing is more fun than I thought. Actually at first I was kinda disappointed because I couldn't properly control it, but after setting an 80% throttle limit and lowering my camera angle and my rates it was a lot better.
I finally got my first FPV setup. Meteor75 Pro analog, Skyzone 02C goggles, Radiomaster Pocket (that pink is so fucking vibrant, I love it) 10 batteries, Vifly Whoopstor 3 and some replacement parts. I bought the goggles, quad and batteries "used", but the quad looks like it hasn't crashed a single time and 8 of the batteries were still in the original packaging. Everything together was a bit less than 400€.
Radio works, vtx and goggles work too, the only issue is that I didn't get the adapter to connect the quad to my computer. I will order one but also I'm impatient so I'm gonna try to solve this on my own for now. Found a plug that isn't supposed to fit in there but kinda does after I sanded it down a bit. I know the pinout of the connector and have a USB cable, so... wish me luck.
Also I already played 10 hours in Liftoff with a PS5 controller. Switching to the RM pocket felt so good, I think I instantly got a little bit better.
I couldn't find any information about this online. The BetaFPV website just says something like "it has an excellent thrust to weight ratio"...
If it's actually unknown, could someone who owns a Meteor75 please measure it? Add more weight to it until it can barely take off and then weigh it or so.
I like creating huge electric arcs in my basement. This one was coloured using table salt, the sodium in it creates this really intense yellow colour.
I do not have a void cat and this photo was not made in the dark. Somehow my phone really messed with the exposure here.
Flying my air 75 until a blackout interrupts my session 😂
U can see the full video below, some cops spot my drone and things get sketchy 😂
This is fanart of a medieval fighting simulator (Half Sword) and in game the thumbs of those gauntlets are actually shaped as if they had fingernails.
