Here is my second part of trying to come up with some homebrew ideas for new Daemons, since, for how vast the Chaos Gods presence is, having 4-5 official Daemon types feels very small. This time its Slaanesh

Here is my second part of trying to come up with some homebrew ideas for new Daemons, since, for how vast the Chaos Gods presence is, having 4-5 official Daemon types feels very small. This time its Slaanesh

I wanted to represent each circle of seduction: Avidity, Gluttony, Carnality, Paramountcy, Vainglory and Indolency to make them feel more alive and to confront the flanderization that Slaanesh is just the god of sex. Similar to Blood Wraith and Brute in my Khorne ideas, Hate-Angels and Thorn-Children are mentioned in Warhammer lore but don't have much lore, so I wanted to expand them.

Hate-Angels are mentioned attacking Eldar in a 40k story, said to be lesser flying daemon beasts of slaanesh, a lot of fan content makes them simple daemonettes with angel wings, however I never liked that idea because why are they called "Hate" Angels, I think making them corrupted Khorne daemons explains the name, and, represents the slow torture Slaanesh prefers over quick kills, also it adds to the deep hate between Khorne and Slaanesh. Them also becoming submissive slaves explains how Slaanesh vehicles and gear is built, similar to how Brutes and Warforgers fulfil that role for Khorne.

Thorn-Children are said to be creatures in the circle of Vainglory, but I wanted them to be the Nurglings of Slaanesh, imagine great artisans summoning and holding these baby daemons to be inspired while the spikes slowly kill the mortal, this self sacrifice to achieve perfect art feels very Slaanesh.

Mirror Vampires are also sorta part of Warhammer lore, specifically from warhammer fantasy battle, they were a type of daemon in 2nd edition of Warhammer fantasy waaay back so before the setting was even fully fleshed out, similar to Blood Wraith they aren't specified as daemons of a specific god, but the focus on mirrors and vampirism feels very Slaaneshy, so I wanted to bring it back as a concept to modern Warhammer.

I didn't want to go too phallic with the designs for obvious reasons, but some elements are meant to be slightly suggestive like the shape of the mouths of the Ever-Gourmand and Soil-Eater, so I don't think this requires an 18+.

Also before anyone asks like in my first post, the reason 4 out of the 8 Daemons are just variants of Daemonettes is because, they are said to be the most common types of Slaanesh Daemons, so I wanted to give them some unique types like how Nurgle has the Sloppity Bilepiper Plaguebearers.

I feel like the Imperium should split like the Roman Empire

(ignore the borders I just sketched something on the fly to give the idea)

Basically the idea is, the inquisition and high lords of Terra already have shown to not like that the primarchs are returning, and for good reason, they don't wanna give up the unrivalled power they have been hogging for thousands of years.

So what if the inquisition used the fact that the Ynnari were involved in bringing back Guilliman as a way to accuse him of being a puppet of the xenos. I could see the imperium splitting between those who follow terra and those who follow the Ultramar.

I could see some mechanicus siding with mars while others would side with Cawl. Some sisters siding with holy terra while others would side with the living saint celestine. Many characters were present at Guilliman's return and those characters would either willingly or unwillingly end up having to side with Ultramar.

It would be interesting to see which forge world becomes the mars equivalent for Imperium Ultramar ecc.

This would also help justify imperium vs imperium tabletop battles, a lot of players play imperium factions so a lot of players will end up playing against other imperium forces. So far the best narrative excuse for imperium on imperium is misunderstandings, but this split in the imperium would add a new fully intended conflict that isn't an accident or Turning one of the players into traitors, well, heh, I guess technically it would but you know what I mean, not chaos/genestealer traitor, still emperor worshippers.

And it would spark a lot of new ideas for stories in the setting, how different worlds on the borders between the two imperiums would react, how different factions interact with this event like knights or custodes or Rogue traders.

Hell, you can even use the cicatrix maledictum as a neat way to define some borders between the two imperiums.

「Silent Scream」

Stand Name: Silent Scream

Stand User: Emma Petros

Stand Type: Close Stand, Artificial humanoid

Stand use example: Firing a bunch of the needles at a target can cause the blood within touched by the punctured needles to start flowing upwards towards the brain. Causing blood to pool in the head and chest, leading to increased intracranial and eye pressure. Within minutes, it causes headaches and a slowed heart rate, until causing death.

「Raconteur」

Stand Name: Raconteur

Stand User: Ethan Keel

Stand Type: Close Stand, Artificial humanoid, Reconnaissance

Stand use example: While wearing the suit, touching a knife left in a crime scene will show the stand user a projection of the knife lift up and begins to move backwards in time, following this knife projection Ethan can find the place where the knife was kept for a long period of time, thus revealing the home of the murderer or at least where the knife was first picked up. Note, to keep seeing the projection and as such follow it the stand user must keep hold of the item, so larger items may not be as easily trackable

「Moonlight Shadow」

Stand Name: Moonlight Shadow

Stand User: Macy Reilly

Stand Type: Close Stand, Artificial humanoid

Stand use example: Moonlight shadow can affect the light projected to a nearby target in such a way none of the light coming from its stand user reaches the eye of the target, rather redirecting and filling the space with light coming from behind the stand user, rendering the stand user completely invisible to the target

「Crazy Loop」

Stand Name: Crazy Loop

Stand User: Roy Balan

Stand Type: Close Stand, Artificial non-humanoid

Stand use example: A bullet being fired at Roy, Crazy Loop can touch the bullet inside the body using one of its tentacles to cause the bullet to loop back out of the body and heal the wound it caused, bullet will return to sender with equal velocity thus possibly piercing the gun wielder if they moved forward, otherwise Roy has enough time to move out the way before the bullet loops back where Roy used to be. Note however, Crazy Loop needs to touch a physical object, this means enemy stand attacks cannot be looped back.

Despite Chaos being a vast presence across the entire setting I always felt the Deamon variety was a bit low, so I wanted to come up with some homebrew ideas for new Deamons starting with Khorne

While some of these are entirely made up like Gorethane, Skullguard, Bloodthrall, Bonepoacher and Warforger, the Blood Wraith are actually a Canon thing mentioned in a Dark Heresy rpg book, just never been related back to khorne, simply a Deamon that can possess people and make them rageful so I expanded it. All these traits plus name scream Khorne so I thought it would be interesting to have a lesser soft power Deamon. Also Brutes were mentioned in the Horus Heresy as larger Deamons who also have available models, however they also have never been specified as Khorne Deamons. Still their red horned look with weapons that look bronze/brass kinda gives off Khorne vibes, and while tzeentch has flamers, slaanesh fiends and Nurgle beast of Nurgle, Khorne has no greater beast, sure there are hounds but they are smaller pack-based beasts, and the juggernaut doesn't count since it's a steed, so I wanted the Brute to be the equivalent to those bigger beast of other gods.

I also made some models of them with chameleon skinks and spare tau pieces but after drawing these sketches and finalizing the designs I will remake my models to be more like these since they look so nice.

Also the pink and dark grey Camo pattern is based on old Rogue trader era salamanders yellow and black paint scheme.

Also also, I picked this style for them, because (although they have very little to no lore) what striked me was the title "Deathsworn" like it didn't sound to me like they bring death, more so are sworn to it, also I picked dios de los muertos aesthetic because it's not shown and appreciate enough in stuff
