Legit move or just damage control for the student protests?

PM Modi announced a massive new initiative to provide AI skill training to 1 crore youths and launch a completely free online coaching network for competitive exams. He specifically called out how wildly expensive private coaching has become and the massive financial and emotional toll it takes on middle-class families.

While free educational resources are always a win on paper, the timing makes this look a whole lot like strategic damage control. Just weeks ago, the country saw massive, nationwide student protests over severe exam irregularities and paper leaks—backlash so intense that it forced the Union Education Minister to resign in July. The youth were completely fed up and out on the streets demanding accountability.

By suddenly rolling out a massive, state-sponsored coaching platform, the government is directly targeting the exact demographic that was just protesting. It reads like a classic political play to win back the trust of frustrated students and parents, offering a shiny new digital initiative to cool down the anger over the recent exam chaos instead of just focusing on the root corruption in the testing agencies.

We always blame Indian parents for raising kids with biases, but no one is talking about what toddlers are watching on YouTube.

Whenever a young kid makes a joke about someone’s dark skin or body weight, our first instinct is to blame the parents. But watch modern kids' animation channels for five minutes, and you’ll see where so much of it actually starts.

Mass-produced rhymes constantly treat darker characters as comical caricatures, frame heavy bodies as cheap punchlines, and push fair skin as the standard for "pretty." Toddlers watch these on an infinite loop, and that catchy repetition quietly turns colorism and body shaming into normal vocabulary before they even hit school.

It’s high time we, as elder siblings, parents, and guardians, closely pay attention to what we’re feeding our kids in the name of innocent entertainment. Don't just let the algorithm babysit—actively check what's playing on their screens and report these types of videos when you spot casual stereotypes.

What do you guys think about it?

Will UPI actually stay free, or are shopkeepers going to start charging us extra for online payments?

With the government introducing legislative changes that allow for merchant fees (MDR) on certain UPI transactions, the official stance is still that UPI will remain completely free for end consumers and that only merchants will bear these charges.

But let's be real for a second, how does that actually work in the real world?

If a local shopkeeper or small vendor gets hit with a fee every time we scan a QR code, they aren't just going to absorb that loss. They will either raise overall prices on everyday items so everyone pays for it implicitly, put up a sign asking for extra rupees on UPI payments, or simply start demanding cash for small transactions. So even if banks don't deduct money directly from our accounts, the customer still ends up paying for it.

If you run a small business or shop, how would you handle these merchant fees? And as a customer, would you go back to carrying cash if vendors start asking for extra on digital payments?

My orders are getting cancelled automatically.

I don't know the exact reason. The only thing I did was, cancelled two orders to purchase another brand from the same site. Customer care is of no help, they told me that they don't have any information related to this.

Quick update: We added a new way to flag shady posts and confirm real ones

Hey guys,

We've been seeing a lot of complaints lately about ghosting, fake gigs, and people asking for upfront fees in DMs. To make it easier to weed out the scammers and highlight genuine posts, we've set up a quick keyword system across the sub.

If you end up messaging a poster or trying out an opportunity they shared, you can now reply anywhere in the post comments with !legit, !shady, or !unresponsive depending on how it went.

If you or anyone else comments !shady or !unresponsive, it automatically alerts our mod team right away so we can review the post. You'll also get a quick follow-up asking to share screenshots or proof if you have any.

Hopefully this helps everyone spot the good opportunities faster and keeps the bad actors off the sub. Let us know if you have any thoughts or feedback on it.

Maharashtra Bans 114 Radical Publications: Security Necessity vs. Digital Enforcement Challenges

The Maharashtra Home Department has ordered the forfeiture and prohibition of 114 physical and digital publications linked to proscribed outfits like ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, citing concerns over radicalization and violent extremism.

Supporters view the measure under Section 98(1) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) as a vital statutory tool to disrupt extremist recruitment and establish clear legal grounds for prosecution. Conversely, analysts highlight the technical hurdles of enforcing state-level digital bans on encrypted networks and offshore servers.

How do you view this policy move—an essential legal tool for national security, or a measure that struggles against the realities of modern digital distribution?

Simple Gold Breakout Entry on Buy Side. Let's see how it goes.

Will be updating the community members along with the price action from the link in Bio.

u/Potato-Patahto — 1 month ago

My Analysis on Gold after Yesterday's bull run and the results so far.

Take a look at the attached chart where I broke down the key bullish zone for Gold. I explicitly shared with my community that this exact zone was the absolute key to maintaining momentum, noting that any drop below it would mean a high risk of buyer exhaustion since the lower support levels had already been tested too many times.

But a great analysis is only half the battle, and what really separates successful trading from gambling is executing a bulletproof risk management plan. We always stay completely prepared in case the market decides to flip against our bias or move against the trade. For this setup, that meant executing our core strategy: booking partial profits at a significant level as soon as the market made a strong move in our direction, and immediately trailing the stop loss to lock in a risk-free position just in case things reversed.

If you want to stop guessing the markets and start trading with a structured, disciplined game plan every single day, come join the community by clicking on Trade Resources tab in my bio and let's win together.
