Just bought a refurbished ThinkPad X280 and I'm trying to install Linux Mint
I made a bootable USB and it shows up fine in Windows, but when I press F12 to open the boot menu, the USB entry says "Device Guard (Unselectable)", so I can't boot from it at all.
The laptop also has a Supervisor password set by a previous owner. The refurbisher doesn't know the password either because they bought it from someone else.
Has anyone come across this before?
- Is "Device Guard (Unselectable)" caused by the Supervisor password?
- Is there any legitimate way to boot Linux Mint without knowing the Supervisor password?
Any advice would be appreciated.
