Barbecued some chicken and broccolini for lunch yesterday.

Brined for 24 hrs before with a simple salt, sugar and seasoning mixture. I grilled for about 30 mins over indirect heat at first and then finished over the fire.

(41) Almost 8 years sober

I drank heavy for about 14 years, got tired of sleeping my weekends away, not having any energy and I could feel my liver hurting at times. Decided to stop cold turkey one day when I couldn’t move from abdomen pain and dumped out the alcohol. Started going on walks that’s turned into runs and once a week in the gym to going consistently now. Now it’s 15-25 miles of cardio with 4-5 times resistance training during the week.

Colchuck lake in Leavenworth Washington

This was my first hike since being in Washington and it was very beautiful. 9.5 miles total I think and finished the whole thing in about 6 hrs. I swam in the lake for a sec and rested there for a while before I hiked back.

Grilled Tri tips for breakfast.

They were on sale and I wanted to try to cook with them and they’re a little tough but were still good. I’ll stick to NY strips and Ribeyes. I had one more andouille sausage I needed to use that I just threw in there also.
