Woah woah woah, now hold on a god diddly darn second, why did no-one bother to pick up on the fact Kirara is wearing a BEANIE in the opening?

The Series 3 Dalek 2 Parter is cruelly underrated

Yesterday I had the thought to rewatch this story again, and I must say, it's really a hidden gem, and undershadowed by other RTD Dalek stories.

The Daleks hiding away in Manhattan, trying to cling onto life and rebuild their species is an excellent idea, and the fact they spent months trying everything to survive shows their desperation as the last 4 Daleks in existence. I also think that the human hybrid Dalek idea is great, as Dalek Sec was willing to try anything and everything to regrow, and it was a concept that had never been thought of or seen before, which could have led the show in a totally different direction (However he got shot before that could happen).

Solomon's character is great as well, as the leader of Hooverville, he is wise and even tries to reason with the Daleks, giving a great speech, something that not many people have attempted to do before in the show's history.

You can also see the Doctor starts to trust Martha a lot more in this story, even giving her the psychic paper to sneak into the Empire State Building, and developing their relationship more.

Overall, I don't get the hate behind this story, and personally I think it's one of the best in RTD's run, purely because it was a unique concept and had some great and interesting characters making it fun to watch.
