I know that Season 6 isn’t everyones favourite and people would rather talk about any other aspect of the show, but given that the MCU is probably about to do a similar storyline with Doom I kinda want to talk about it.

Personally I thought that the concept of someone with Coulson’s face showing up after his death to mess with the team after the real Coulson died is a pretty interesting concept. But in execution it kinda went weird.

I think that in the first nine episodes of the season his character was actually fun and interesting. He managed to challenge May and Daisy who were still grieving the real Coulson and Mack who was trying to live up to him. But to me, what made him work was the fact that he WASN’T Coulson. He had Coulson’s face but other than a few surface similarities they were completely different.

Both Coulson and Sarge were leaders of a group of people who claimed to protect the world but the way they went about it was completely different. Coulson cared about the people who followed him and tried to keep them safe and did everything in his power to protect them always choosing to save them even if it risked the world. He was a flawed leader who let his emotions get the best of him choosing to save Daisy in S1 risking the Clairvoyant to find out about the GH formula or killing Ward in S3 and almost dooming the world to Hive. But he still did everything to save as many lives as possible and always pushed against compromise.

Sarge is the opposite of that. He saw his crew as tools and a means to an end. He lied to them and manipulated them and even killed them in cold blood in his quest to end Izel. He was willing to wipe out an entire city just to kill her. He had Coulson’s face and a few of his impulses but they had nothing in common other than basic similarities. Of course he is a hypocrite as his quest to kill Izel was driven by what he thought was anger and was in the end selfish anyway but he is still nothing like Coulson as while Coulson refuses to sacrifice his team he still is willing to sacrifice himself.

The thing is that the last few episodes threw all of that away to make it so that there was still a part of Coulson inside of him and that he was possessed by a spirit. There are still some amazing moments like “Kill me Skye” and the entire betrayal scene but all of the depth is gone for the sake of explaining his link with Coulson. (However the backstory itself is amazing IMO, using the prior lore of the show to create this Coulson clone but IMO he should have been a 1000 year old version who lost himself and became a completely different person over time).

IMO Sarge in episodes 1-9 and episodes 10-13 feel like completely different characters and episode 1-9 Sarge is so much better and more interesting.

Also I think that the MCU should take after earlier season Sarge with Doom and make him a completely different person with basic similarities with Stark.

So I finally got around to watching S7 after six years due to finally getting Disney+. Absolutely love the first six seasons and this one is also great.

However there is something that puzzles me. It is implied in the episode that the Chronicoms want to kill Malick and stop him from making his delivery to prevent the rise of HYDRA and then SHIELD.

The thing is that stopping HYDRA from creating the serum and creating the Red Skull wouldn’t stop their rise in WW2. Schmidt was the head of the Nazi science division long before he was injected and it was in fact his transformation that lead to him falling out with the Nazi’s.

But it gets worse. While Schmidt wouldn’t gain super strength he would still find the Tesseract and build his WMDs. The thing is that in this scenario there would be no Captain America to stop him as there would be no serum.

As a result HYDRA would not only rise, they would win.

So Daisy was definitely wrong about killing him to save lives.

What if Will Byers was never found?

Vecna stops El from finding Will in the void in E4. As a result the party continues to believe Will is dead. The lab never finds El’s location and she stays living in Mike’s basement. Hopper doesn’t keep investigating and Joyce gets locked in a psychiatric ward. Lonnie takes custody of Jonathan. Nancy never finds out what happened to Barb.

One year later, Dustin discovers Dart in his trash and the party witnesses him evolve. Dart tries to eat Dustin but El kills him. The party learn of the Upside Down and El is finally able to convince the party that what happened to Will wasn’t normal. They decide to recruit Joyce for help and El helps break her out of Pennhurst. They plan to bait out the Demodogs in a way similar to what Steve and Dustin do in S2 but it goes wrong when the S1 Demogorgon shows up as well. Dustin realises that the creatures operate in a Hive Mind and that they could stop the monsters by closing the gate and cutting off the brain.

Meanwhile Hopper investigates the tunnels but doesn’t notify the lab which is still under Brenner‘s control he gets trapped inside but is found by Brenner’s men.

Jonathan learns of Joyce’s escape and runs away returning to Hawkings in an attempt to find her. Believing that she is going to go after the lab again he tries to break in first to get to her. He is instead captured by Brenner who is aware of the spread of the tunnels but isn’t doing anything to stop it as he wants to understand how the creatures think. He reveals that Will’s body was a fake and that the real Will could still be alive in the Upside Down and wants to use him and Hopper as bait to lure out Will and get to Henry. However the Demodogs then attack the lab and Jonathan and Hopper try to make an escape.

The party and Joyce arrive and rescue Jonathan and Hopper and Jonathan and Joyce reunite. El enters the lab and confronts Brenner telling him that she has a real family now. Brenner tries to capture El by holding Mike hostage but he is then seemingly killed by the Demogorgon like in S1. The Demogorgon chases the party but it is then killed by Joyce with a flamethrower.

El then arrives at the gate and prepares to close it. However Jonathan tries to stop her believing Will could still be alive on the other side. He and Joyce contemplate entering the Upside Down but the Mind Flayer appears on the other side forcing El to close it.

Owens takes charge of the lab and gives Joyce and El their freedom back and Joyce adopts El. Jonathan and Joyce would mourn Will as life seemingly returns to normal in Hawkins. However the story ends with a depressed Nancy Wheeler finding a piece of the Mind Flayer setting up the return of the flayed in an alternate season 3.

Holy shit it was insane.

At first my friends and I were having fun watching Hammer's stupid presentation. This guy wanted to replace the military with some drones. Can you imagine? A bunch of robots stealing jobs? That is so dumb

Then we realised this shit was serious when he presented a probably stolen Iron Man suit piloted by lieutenant colonel James Rhodes.

Then everything went to shit when Iron Man pulled up (probably to recover his stolen suit) and the bloody clankers started trying to kill him.

I almost managed to get out on one piece but a lot of people weren't so lucky. I ended up getting blasted by the force of an explosion and got knocked unconsious. I woke up in hospital four days later with no serious injuries but I now need to pay the hospital bill (I hate the US).

Now I just need to drive home through Harlem. Hopefully nothing bad will happen.

I’m asking this specifically because the whole “Jean needs to be locked up” idea sounds very much like something the Real SHIELD or the ATCU would try to do. Like I get that telepathic and possession powers are insanely dangerous heck Izel in S6 uses the possession powers in a similar way to Jean in terms of torturing people (and Ben in S5 is a pretty chill telepath compared to the ones in the comics) but clearly antagonising them is a terrible idea as shown in S2 with the Inhumans arc.

IMO Jean shouldn’t be forgiven easily for what she did but she still redeem herself and use her powers responsibly. The solution is to work with the powered people to build a solution like Coulson and Daisy try to do not try to lock them up.

I’ve been kinda stoked for S2 since I watched S1 but now that I’ve seen this trailer I’m wondering what exactly is happening.

So the blue flowers are manifesting in the Rightside Up. How? And what is this ghost exactly? From what I can gather it seems to be made purely of light meaning that some actual creatures are in the Upside Down and they are interacting with real world objects by somehow manifesting lights. So does that mean that the crew is going to travel to the UD to stop them.

This explains why El’s powers don’t seem to work on them. But how exactly are they interacting with objects in the real world. We’ve seen small scale interactions before with the Demo in S1 so is this something similar?

So Tony Stark has been flying around the world as Iron Man for a few months and has been putting an end to a bunch of conflicts which is cool but what do you guys think of that court hearing?

This guy actually humiliated the government in a hearing rigged against him and showed them how incompetent they are. Of course we all knew they were given how they hired Justin Hammer as their weapons contractor but who am I to complain. The more incompetent the weapons the less civilians they blow up.

Of course I’m not sure if I trust one guy to protect us but better him than the US government.

Still though the way he’s been running his company as of late isn’t as cool but the Stark Expo sounds awesome and I plan on going there in a few days.

So I’m currently writing my Mileven reunion fic (3 chapters in have already posted 2) and I’m wondering if I got the characters right.

Essentially right now Mike is trying to find ways to track down El but is now throwing himself into things that the others fear might get both him and El killed. So I’m trying to write their reactions correctly.

So far I’ve written them this way:

Will is helping Mike as he also thinks they need to find El. He is however starting to worry about Mike who he feels is pushing himself too far.

Max also wants to find El but is worried about getting them all killed or imprisoned or even leading the government to her doorstep so she is also trying to discourage Mike from pushing too far. She now feels that Mike was right in S3 and there are some things El can’t beat and that putting her in danger is a bad idea.

Lucas emphasises with Mike trying to be his friend the same way Mike was his friend when Max was in a coma. But he also understands Max’s point and is split.

Dustin also tries to emphasise with Mike believing his actions are self destructive as he continues to throw himself into more dangerous situations likening it to his own state in S5. Mike hates this as Eddie is dead and he is certain El is alive.

Mike refuses to give up on El and continues to try to find ways to find her regardless and doesn’t care. He tries to be careful and not attract attention but refuses to give up on El.

So what are your thoughts on my characterisations? Are they wrong? Also how could I write other characters such as the older teens (who aren’t teens anymore), Hopper and Joyce.

Of course there is the scene where Pietro explains how they survived the bombings but Ultron could just be pretending.

But then we have the scene where he tells himself that they will understand in time when they run away and the way he speaks to Wanda in the train and again before she rips out his heart thing in the final battle.

So did he genuinely care about them and genuinely wanted them to understand his goals or was he just using them.

Also could that mean he genuinely wants Vision to reunite with his son in VisionQuest?

And I mean real plot holes not omissions so no missing Suzie or Argyle.

For me it’s how come Sullivan didn’t track Argyle’s pizza van in S4. There is no way they made it across the country in that thing and nobody noticed.

Other than that I don’t see anything truly horrible.

So this guy is now claiming he is some sort of superhero. Is he bullshitting us?

I’ve seen pictures of two metal men fighting at Stark Industries and Stark is claiming to be one of them?

Is this some publicity stunt?

Personally I think that it is possible that he developed some battle suit but I am sceptical that he is going to protect us. Let’s hope I’m wrong.

Also who exactly was that over guy in that over suit? Obadiah Stane?

This has long been called a plot hole but the more I think about it the more it makes sense.

Once El disappeared and the Upside Down collapsed you’d have to imagine that the US government was very pissed off but not just at the main cast but also at Dr Kay. Not only did Kay fail her mission but she managed to lose the literal alternate dimension full of potential weapons against the soviets in their backyard.

There was no way Kay could feasibly punish Nancy or Hopper without it coming back to bite her. The government was not going to cover up the disappearance of like 27 civilians including a bunch of kids that had last been seen being dragged to their headquarters. It would be a way too hard process to undergo for someone who had failed them so hard.

It is an all in one package Kay kills one of them and there is an investigation in which all the others would testify against her and the government would let her take the fall. The only person she could feasibly get away with killing is Hopper given that he was already declared dead but that doesn’t change the fact that there would still be witnesses who she can’t kill that would hold her accountable.

Kay also couldn’t lock them up legally as the government would never risk any of the main cast seeing the inside of a courtroom where they could be able to testify and expose their actions.

As a result all they could do was let them go, make them sign an NDA and put them under surveillance which is why Mike then explains his theory using D&D terms.

So Tony Stark has announced that he is claiming responsibility and shutting down his weapons division.

Personally I think it’s a good idea. Enough people have died in war but do we believe him? He is a billionaire after all. Did he really have a change of heart? Possible. Getting tortured in a cave or whatever can allow someone to change their minds.

I just hope this isn’t some a**hole billionaire way to somehow make more money.

So do we think Tony Stark has changed or not?

Netflix loves money too much not milk this franchise now.

Here is to hoping the spinoffs are good.

The original show and TF85 were great. Please don’t break the streak.

If you watched the movie you know that the plot hinges around Jean Grey using her telepathic powers to attack the DODC in an attempt to find her sister.

So I was wondering how SHIELD would handle the situation given that they are an organisation specialised in handling super-powered people and have dealt with telepaths before although they were all different from Jean.

Personally I think that the post S7 team specifically Mack and Yo-Yo would understand the danger of her powers especially after their experiences with Izel (the powers are different but the way a person perceives being possessed is awfully similar) so they would definitely understand how dangerous her powers can be. I also think that maybe Daisy or May would try to emphasise with her although May would probably get PTSD from Bahrain again. I am 100% sure though that once they figure out would Meltzger was up to they would all be against it given the shit they dealt with Hydra.
