Something odd that places like Berlin, Marseille and Wuppertal have in common is the presence of proper dance scenes.
if you have seen a pina bausch o la horde intervention this is it.
At Berghain as well as Open ground you feel a high presence of people that have invested themselves in contemporary, ballet, tango, ballroom, salsa… you name it.
These characters really make those spaces special and beautiful, because dancing is community.
Sure, silent vibing and nodding toward the dj is legitimate but do I prefer a vogue and A catwalk, a duckwalk, a dip, a pirouette . Hell yeah. And many of you are no strangers to this freedom of body.
Some cultures and communities have not institutionalised dance but rather keep it as a lived experience. Also these groups find an audience at Berghain.
Club culture flourishes where dance culture is kept alive, which explains the rise of Colombia as a hub.
The epicenter of Salsa, guaracha, Dembow is serving Kant on international stages.
So this is just an appreciation post to those ecosystems that thrive under the influence of dance schools of life.
I am already really exciting about the tratratrax event where we are sure to witness amazing dance movement presence community.

Me llama harto la atención que los compañeros Argentinos parece que se ofenden con las alegaciones de racismo que están recibiendo.
Personalmente me parece que no lo están manejando de la mejor manera, pues muchos comportamientos que se observa desde afuera pues si son bien racistas y pues sí tienen una historia bien heavy de genocidio y maltrato a minorías.
Veo muy poca autoreflexion y autocritica y los veo a defensiva en vez de cuestionar su historia y su realidad.
Por ejemplo hubo el caso de una argentina que por ser racista fue tomada presa en Brasil y en vez de convertirse en Verguenza nacional (que hubiera sido el caso en X otro pais), los argentinos salieron a defenderla y defenderse de alegaciones. Cuestionable.

Ich plane nun seit jeher einmal im Monat eine Rave/Festival in Berlin/Amsterdam etc, auf die ich dann in meinem Unikaff “hinarbeite“. z.B. 1 Monat vor einer größeren Prüfung oder so.
Irgendwie fahre ich besser damit, mir diese Motivatoren einzubauen als komplett alles lahm zu legen, aber es scheint so, dass es die meisten gar nicht tun?
Obwohl ich keinen Alkohol trinke, kostet der Spaß dann ja eh mind. 100€. Da ich aber immer zu Hause koche und auch arbeite, gönne ich mir das.

I LOVED Florentino, that set was wild and was very high on my bucket list. I really hope to see his label Club Romantico play more across Germany.
Ghetto Cumbé was fun but not sure the stage setup was so helpful as it was outside

gefühlt >90% der Menschen an der Schlange wollen da gar nicht rein.
Damit angefangen, dass die allermeisten Leute die Musik/ die Szene etc. dort nicht kennen oder feiern, sondern einfach nur hingehen, weil sie in Berlin sind.
Dann kommen die Leute die gezielt da sind. Die suchen sich dann die Tage und Zeiten aus, an denen die Selektion absolut schlimm ist. kp Skrillex auf einer Klubnacht. sowas.
Dann hören die auf Tips aus dem Internet, die dadurch, dass die so stark propagiert werden, eben absolut vorhersehbar sind. Kp Harness auf amazon bestellen oder schwarz tragen, so ein Unsinn.
Ergebnis, sie machen diese ganze bescheuerte Erfahrung von Stunden lang Schlange stehen und dann abgewiesen werden.
Dabei hätten sie sich einfach ein Ticket für einen Donnerstag oder ein Konzert oder whatever holen können, eg. CTM war fantastisch, aber im Grunde geht es den Leuten scheinbar nur um eine fragwürdige Validierung oder Abweisung, nicht um den Ort oder die Erfahrung.
Die Situation an der Tür ist das eigentliche sadistische/Masoschistische Ziel der meisten dieser Menschen, nicht der Club selbst.

With Honey Dijon and Arca, the visuals and sound are SO Panorama Bar bar coded that this would just make sense. I would love to attend but as it was with Gaga, Kylie and even Orville, I figure getting tickets will be a hassle. How do these things roll out usually?

wir sind ein Schwules Paar Mitte 30 aus Sao Paulo/Berlin via Shanghai.
Wir sind absolut randomly in einer kleineren Stadt in NRW gelandet und meinem Mann fällt die Decke auf den Kopf. Wir sind beide recht ”Berlin coded”, lieben Kunst, günstig aber nice asiatisch essen gehen, im open ground tanzen, im Vabali chillen, so was halt. Ein bisschen Hedonismus eben. Außerdem will ich wieder ein cooles Yoga Studio/ Crossfit etc in der Nähe haben. Ich studiere noch Medizin und arbeite in der Forschung, mein Mann ist product Manager im E Commerce Remote in Berlin.
Ich bin ortlich an NRW gebunden für die nächsten 2-3 Jahre. Deswegen gehts es wohl demnächst nach Köln oder Düsseldorf. Interessanterweise können wir Düsseldorf mehr abgewinnen als Köln wegen oben genannten Punkten. Irgendwie ist Köln in globalen Vergleich halt imo überhaupt nicht so nett und witzig wie die Kölner STÄNDIG behaupten. Die Stadt ist grau, die clubs sind meh. Dieses ständige Bashing anderer Städte triggert mich. Deswegen habe ich gerade so keinen Bock mich um eine Wohnung in Köln zu schlagen. KP. Finde Köln maximal overrated aber will die Stadt nicht abschreiben nur weil ich verstörende Erfahrungen dort gemacht habe lol.
Gleichzeitig kann Ich überhaupt nicht einschätzen wie vermeintlich spießig Düsseldorf ist, eg. Wie nervig die Nachbarn sein werden usw. Wir haben schon ein paar nette Freunde hier gefunden aber noch nicht so Leute mit einem ähnlichen Lifestyle (pseudo-unspießiges big city Gay couple looking for ze German dream). Meldet euch, falls das euer case ist 💖.

The other Altiplano
Primavera Anónima is a creative project born in the digital world during the Covid lockdowns, gestated between Shanghai, Berlin, and several Bolivian cities. Through anonymized Zoom sessions, a thought of international solidarity emerged between the Global South and its diasporas, alongside an aesthetic to accompany it.
The project is shaped by bonds of friendship and by my studies in sociology, politics, and medicine.
During that time, the series El Otro Altiplano came into being.
El Otro Altiplano documents life at four thousand meters above sea level — this time in Xinjiang, China. Through virgin eyes I discovered how our geography conditions our beauty and our struggles. There is always another Altiplano.
The Uyghur and Xinjiang peoples are marginalized communities inhabiting China’s borderlands in Central Asia, near the Stans — Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan: economies of bovines and camelids, folklore and ethnic diversity, peripheral territories. Places marked by the contest of power between indigenous peoples and axes of authority, and by the everyday lives of girls and boys growing up under imperial surveillance.

A lot has been said about Open Ground and the new portals it opened for live experimentation, but way less about the role the Annex stage has started playing for a new generation of diasporic migrant electronic collectives in West Germany. Barulho World is one of the strongest voices coming out of that movement right now.
Driven mainly by Frau Beji, Piccelli and Foudjo, the collective moves through Kuduro, Amapiano, Afrotech, Baile Funk, Afrobeat and deep leftfield techno.
What really makes Barulho special though is the atmosphere around it. Friends, lovers and family become part of the experience and the dancefloor turns into an actual community space. Solo ravers are welcomed organically.
This edition brings together Nooriyah (UK) and Meg10 (Hoemies Berlin) and many more. I just saw Meg10 at the 1st of May refuge worldwide Event and she really tore the house down with a mix of Baile Funk heavy bass.
Why not make a stop at Barulho before heading to the Skrillex event?
