G98 no notification after two months

Filled in the G98 paperwork and emailed it to the SSE email address given but heard nothing after 8 weeks. Are they usually this slow?
Do I need to chase or does the fact that O have sent it in mean it’s all ok given that I am not planning to export anything?

Do you pack sh*t yourself pants when you go on holiday?

My wife was talking about taking extra pants on holiday just in case your "soil" yourself. This has literally blown my mind. My wife is 34.

Mars schemes

Our Trust has a MARS scheme running. Am wondering from experience how many have been run in the past that don’t get enough takers and so they go to redundancies, obviously a big difference in pay out. Am assuming there would be a business case somewhere that lays out what happens if they don’t get enough respondents?

Visited for four days, some thoughts

Just took my son, his wife and two daughters, aged 6 & 9, to DLP. We stayed at the Newport Bay.
They loved it

However some things need to be changed to make it perfect.

The map in the app is useless, why when you zoom in can’t it annotate the buildings with their names like Google maps does?

Signage around the park is poor, for example trying to find the dragon under the castle, why no signs pointing out where the entrance is before you are standing outside it.

Peter Pan ride, even though we only queued for 35 minutes, for the experience it seemed way too long, it wasn’t great.

Newport Bay hotel is a bit tired in places with power sockets coming off the wall.

Good bits

The girls had never seen Star Wars but loved the Star Tours ride. Other favourites were ratatouille and the buzz light year ride.

The Frozen area was spectacular, the mountain looked so realistic.

The Twilight Tower and Marvel rides were great fun as well as the Spider-Man ride.

Top tips

Wear comfortable shoes, we walked over 20 miles each day

We thought both the Rainforest Cafe and the Earl of Sandwich were good.

Overall a great holiday, though very expensive

Tapo C210 authentication?

Am using a number of Tapo cameras with Home Assistant. C400, TC82 and a C210.

All working ok apart from on, the C210 keeps coming up with an authentication expired message so I have to keep entering the user name and password, any idea why this one camera would be different from the others?

New to camping

We did our first ever long weekend in a tent and enjoyed it. This was at a festival with good facilities.

As we are new to camping is there a Tripadvisor style site for camping sites so we can see what others think of them?

DMP with Stepchange and Full & Finals

Am currently in a DMP through Stepchange with around £52K left, been in it for 9 months. With 3 years left to pay.
Work is making me ill with severe stress and we are all being offered mutually agreed resignation with a lump sum payout. Some of the debts have been passed to debt collection agencies.
From anyone’s personally experience how likely are companies to accept around 20% given my age and it being unlikely to get a job that anywhere near my current salary and so I would need a large chunk of the lump sum to live on as I wouldn’t be eligible for any benefits.

New Genie 600 user

Got this mower as a birthday present from my wife. Impressed how it mapped the garden and managed to cross a path to map the other area of lawn.

A couple of questions

  1. How do I change it from cutting across the garden to running down the garden (90 degree change)

  2. How do I get it to map closer to some of the edges as it’s been overly cautious

Feeling so good

Started off on MJ in October 24, got down to my lowest weight for about 30 years, lost 58 pounds and felt so good. Switched to Wegovy August 2025 when the price hikes hit, and lost nothing and put on weight after a few AI holidays. However back on MJ and losing weight against, just been on an AI cruise and only put on 5lbs but didn’t worry about what I was eating, just enjoyed myself, weight has started dropping off again. Garden cabin which will be the home gym being delivered next week so very positive about my weight future 😀

Ways to dump power?

Am thinking of ways to dump power as my battery fills up by about 2pm and we have washed every bit of clothing and dish washed everything. We never use our immersion heater element but am thinking could I replace it with a 1KW element and use a smart relay to switch it on when my battery gets to 80%, any thoughts? A 3KW element would just waste power whereas a smaller unit should just use enough to cover base load of the house and heat the water.

Edited with some more info.
On a fixed tariff with British Gas as 0.21P per KWH with half price on Sundays between 11am and 3pm, no export option.
Have an EcoFlow Stream Ultra with 4 x 465w panels and an 800w microinverter with another two 400w panels with an EcoFlow meter to stop export to the grid.
No plans for a heat pump this year and no air con options as everyone has sold out because it has been a bit toasty for a few days
