Can the Phantom Troupe assassinate Netero ?

Netero before he faced Meruem, gets intercepted by the spiders

Can they work together and kill Netero ?

No poor man's rose, and everyone is in character. No prep, no info, standard gear.

Bonus: Hisoka and Illumi join the Troupe, and Uvo is revived as well.

Bonus bonus: Instead of Netero, its Morel Knov Knuckle Shoot Palm Gon and Killua.

They need to ensure they can kill either Hisoka and Chrollo, and just one of them survives the encounter for 24 hours. Can they do it ?

Bonus bonus bonus: Bisky is the target, what's the maximum number of Spiders she can match for at least 1 hour before they kill her in a straightforward combat scenario ? Think Heaven's Arena but the ring is thrice the size.

How does Camilla's ability work ?

Usually, Nen require you to pay for a benefit with something of your own

It is usually character paying Nen quantity for the beneficial effect

Sometimes its character paying for the effect with their freedom - like Kurapika paying for the chain jail by giving up the freedom of using it on non-spiders

So, Camilla gets the beneficial effect of Nen revival

what is she paying for it ?

It seems like she is paying her attacker's life in exchange for the revival

Isn't that kinda unbalanced?

I understand post mortem nen is more powerful, but its only so because the user is dead right ? if you are revived, then its just balancing out the post mortem boost

Surely there's some more of a loophole she would reveal right ? or maybe I misunderstand

(DC) Will power equalized, who is the strongest Green Lantern ?

Intent: usually, conversations around green lanterns ability falls to their limitless will power and stuff, and the ring's ability to do just anything. It side steps the most interesting and hook part of the character, which is their ability to construct stuff from light.

So, I would like to know which green lanterns are most combat competent in the use of their rings, ignoring the will power potency bits.

Rules:

  • random encounter in a battle royale
  • full info on all sides
  • comics only
  • Feats >>> Statements/Lore >>> Author's statements or intent (not explicitly shown on panel in any comic).

Round 1: Earth green lanterns. Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Alan Scott, Jong Li, Waverly Sayre, Frank Laminski ... and whoever else worked as a Green Lantern of Earth

Round 2: All members of all lanterns corps, and lantern-adjacent characters who are lanterns but not from any corps like the phantom lantern or bizarro lantern

Round 3: Same as Round 1 but they are only allowed to construct something new once every 10 minutes.

Are there any yo kai watch youtubers out there ?

I would like to see somebody play the games, watch the show, or have general videos on the topic of yokai watch

all I find are pokemon related guys, who try out yokai watch and they don't even finish the games or have any videos on general topics

Kinda sucks, there seems to be less community for yokai watch out there compared to even inazuma 11 or digimon, and those are already sparse

Subscription service for change

You pay every month for a subscription to the Change Service, and you specify what change you'd like to receive

Every Sunday, you receive the exact change you specified, fresh and bundled neatly for your convenience

At a premium, you'd receive a card for use at service stations

In every major city there will be a Change Service Station where you can use your premium card to - exchange any defective change you received within 7 days of opening the bundle or 30 days of receiving it, or get fresh change from your recurring cycle in advance.

You can use the Change Service App to update your delivered change bundles, the updated bundles will be used from the next cycle onwards.

This is all about lower cash denominations, but depending on usage data higher denominations can be brought into use as well.

Lastly, the Change Service tokens can be used a secondary and more fluid currency, allowing for far smoother & direct transactions, directly deducted from amounts that are pre-charged into your Change Service account. Transactions that go past your account limits can be supported based on a post-pay loan & credit system, although to unlock this perk you'd need to leave a live cow & bull as collateral. The quality of this pair determines your credit limits.

Do you think Mumen Rider will get a license & a partner ? Possible Mumen futures

I think the manga has a very clear path for Mumen to go towards S class, but there are many exciting possibilities

First is the most obvious one, he goes from B class to A class by getting a top tier bike & a license to ride it everywhere.

Then, he joins the Tanktop bros, and starts a small subsect of Tank top bikers, with the tanktop girl joining him as a partner that handles the logistics & bike upgrades while he does the heroics & inspires others

Captain Mizuki I can see as growing into a more rival role, since she is Darkshine's disciple while Mumen would grow into being Tanktop Master's disciple - could be an interesting dynamic with these brawlers and their weak-in-body-strong-in-mind pupils

Next up, is the possible track with Glasses. Mumen could be tempted to join the Fubuki group, but after being warned by Glasses about the stagnation of his skills, they'd start training & working together. Him going licensed biker mode is a constant.

From here any of the active A class, like Twin Tails, Lightning Max, or Golden Ball could take the two of them to further heights and A class. Could easily come with upgrades to his gear.

After that, either Mumen gets direct tutelege from Amai Mask or King, or goes on his own journey exploring the limits of his biking.

The final interesting route I'd like to see is the one with martial arts. Suiko & Suiryu pave a clear path to A class, while guys like Heavy Tank Loincloth and Great Philosopher show a door to becoming a top tier and closer to S class. Magic Trick Man and D-Pad could show him what he is lacking, something like an ace up his sleeve or surprise factor like a car/forklift/road-roller/helicopter. By adding that x-factor Mumen could break into bottom of the S class.

These are some of my thoughts, I would like to see what you guys think about Mumen's potential for progression. Of course these aren't meant to be forcing away the bicycle, just that I'd like to see him realize the artificial limits he's put on himself.

[Marvel/DC] Do comics & fanfics nowadays just not feature the missed-date scenarios ?

By missed-date scenarios, I mean the kind where Peter and MJ (Spiderman) are about to go on a date, MJ gets there all ready to rock, Peter get occupied with a sudden crisis, and then MJ just leaves disappointed by the time Peter gets there.

With smartphones around and literally everywhere nowadays, it would be super easy for a super genius like Peter to call MJ (with his or someone else's phone) and tell her hey lets delay the date or move it up to tomorrow or whatever, something urgent's come up.

It won't erase the frustration MJ feels and she might decide its still too much, and she can't date Peter anyways, but it will change the dynamic completely. Now it will be similar to dating a doctor, policeman, or a fireman. Or any other emergency worker, or person with many responsibilities.

Because in the past Peter was just portrayed as this asshole from MJ's perspective, one who stands her up on every occassion without much reason. Whereas now, with all the additional communication, things gotta be way better for their relationship and stuff yeah ?

So what do you guys think - are such scenarios still present in comics/media and their fanfiction ? And if so, in what ways do they tackle the ever present smartphones ?

Also, how else have smartphones affected media ? I imagine the great mobile cameras with near-instant global connectivity must be a wrench in most traditional covert ops / detective / mystery style stories yeah ?

[Flash Game][2010s] RPG Beat em' up style game, where you play as a soldier

Platform(s): Browser, Flash Game (hosted on portals like Armor Games, Newgrounds, or ArcadePreHacks)

Genre: 2D Side-Scrolling Beat 'Em Up / Action-RPG (pure combat, no platforming or jumping hazards)

Estimated year of release: Late 2000s to early 2010s (Flash era, played around the same time as Arm of Revenge)

Graphics/art style: Very bleak, dark, and moody visual aesthetic with a clean look for the main character

Notable characters:

Main Character: A human government soldier / operative wearing a clean suit or soldier uniform.

Female NPC: The very first character you interact with (handler/contact during mission briefings).

Enemies: Cyborgs (if I recall correctly, 70% sure it was enhanced soldiers or thugs)

Notable gameplay mechanics:

Choice mechanic near the end, involving a dialogue choice to accept or decline going on a mission. Going on the final mission reveals some hidden truths about the organization, with 2 more government agents being revealed.

Other details: Focuses on government deployment missions on the streets or into facilities to investigate stuff. I remember combat was on the streets, very reminiscient of double dragon in that regard.

The NPCs refer to you as agent something, that's the final detail I remember.

Any suggestion or guess is appreciated, thanks!

[Flash game][2010s] Project AL - RPG on Kongregate

Platform(s): Browser, Flash Game

Genre: RPG, action, mystery, zombie

Estimated year of release: 2010s

Graphics/art style: Do not remember clearly, but it was like a visual novel almost, with RPG actions scenes

Notable characters: At the very end, we find a zombie in a shed, and have to fight it

Notable gameplay mechanics: none

Other details: It was a demo / beta of the game, and full version was never released from what I understand. In the title of the game they had something to indicate this as well (like v0.5).

Also, I might be mistaken about the name "Project AL" / "Project A.L." / "Project AI"

But I am 100 % sure its name is along those lines.

Thanks

Everybody glazes Morel's versatility, meanwhile the GOAT Basho is smiting liars with his art

This is the best example of recency bias in the series that the fans display

Everybody thinks of Morel, Knov, Knuckle, Shoot, Killua, Gon, Netero, Hisoka, Chrollo, the royal guards, and Ging whenever there is a discussion about effective nen abilities and whether one is the best, the dullest, the most creative etc

Meanwhile, everyone just collectively forgets the best most versatile Nen user we have seen on screen - Basho the wandering poet

I am pretty sure Netero was talking about him when he said there's like 5 Nen users better than him, because not only is that accurate, it also gels with Togashi's style of writing that does not make the world feel smaller with such reveals.

Now onto the specifics - Basho can check if you're lying by writing a small poem. The resident nen genius & utility-crazed Kurapika has to dedicate a fifth of his moveset to his dousing chain.

Basho can write a haiku for each atom in the observable universe and he wouldn't run out. Dude is by definition the most versatile.

From what we have seen, he doesn't have to use it immediately or even speak it out loud for the effects to occur. Of course there could be some limits we haven't been privy to, but there could also equally be some abilities and advantages that we don't know. Just from what we know, it does seem like a very flexible ability.

The best part though, and the reason its my absolute favourite, is that it ties a character's passion with his strength. Kurapika's ability is fueled by hate, Chrollo's with apathy, and Hisoka's with either some childhood trauma related to the brand gum, or his general carefree but intuitive nature. Basho's ability & its effectiveness is directly related to his passion for poetry. Dude is spending a lifetime traveling and capturing the world in his poems, and as his skill and knowledge improves, its gonna show in his hatsu too.

Idk if rants are allowed here, might get deleted but oh well. I do wanna add that Basho deserves a definitive spot in the Nen Impact fighting game if they do have any spots left.

Now, while we are here, lets talk about Squalla too. People on here and on hatsu vault subreddit often go on about how dull Gon's or Uvo's style is, and how Enhancers are a lost cause.

I just think the enhancers suffer from HxH being a manga focusing on adventure friendship and very young main cast. Manga of this variety generally have a strong bias towards hand-to-hand fights (with energy weapons/blasts/buddhas) and a strong bias against weapon wielders. So the case of enhancers is at least defensible.

Squalla is a manipulator, a respectable middling class with fair few characters using very similar abilities. Not the dullest, but puppeteering certainly pales when compared to shooting energy blasts or conjuring a flying flesheater.

Squalla though, he is a pretty unique guy who made the decision that he wants to use dogs to do his bidding. I don't know what kinda trauma driven hate for dogs that is, but dude could have put some effort and just gone for the uninspired human manipulator route instead of killing the personalities of innocent animals.

There needs to be more posts harping on how awful Squalla's hatsu is. You get like one maybe two hatsus in this world of magic, and he chose to shoot his shot with mind-controlling defense-less puppers.

I would like to know what people on here think about Basho and Squalla, and how they could have been changed in hindsight to match the whole "billionaire assembles a team of Nen users" theme. We see Batera do it much better with the two star hunter and the hunter contest, not sure why the Nostrades fell so short in their selection process.

Pisciss

The user remains perfectly still and meditates, losing their sense of sight and touch temporarily

The user's Nen is transmuted into a sphere of dark water, similar to En, with blood thirsty creatures of the deep sea within this watery Nen sphere. A small bubble of air is maintained around the user.

< The loss of senses and remaining stationary give a boost to the user's Nen, enhancing the transmuted watery Nen to a 1 kilometer radius >

Second Ability: Delirium

By remaining in Zetsu while the Pisciss is active, the user can teleport objects anywhere within the sphere.

< Since its all happening within the En sphere of the user's Nen, I think this is all achievable with finely controlled Transmutation.

The autonomous behaviour of creatures can be partly subconscious and partly muscle memory for the meditating user. >

If Hashirama wants one dead, which of the Akatsuki would survive challenging him 1v1 ?

Win condition for the akatsuki members : survive challenging Hashirama one on one, when Hashirama wants them dead. Do not get killed by Hashi and outlive him.

Location is the land between Suna and Konoha.

Standard gear.

Info can be assumed - each side knows the commonly used techniques of the other but not aware about the less common ones. So for example, Hashi knows Sasori uses puppets, Sasori knows the first hokage uses wood style and has some way to control tailed beasts. Surface level info that an akatsuki or kage can be assumed to know based on infamy.

Any money earned in a country must be spent in that country

Any money one earns in a country, or in a country's currency, must be spent in that country.

Nobody, individual or group, is allowed to hold a country's monet outside its borders.

Across borders, business must be barter - an exchange of goods and services, no money involved.

Applies to sports, advertisements, online businesses etc.

Why was Hinata not good at serving ?

He did not have a team to practice with or get play time during the flash back times

But, he could have been practicing serving anyways - right ?

Like, to me it seems like the kind of practice we see the characters do for improving their serves, it is all stuff Hinata could have been doing anywhere all by himself.

Between that and watching some matches, he would have had a really solid serve when the series starts.

Has this been discussed before ? I found some threads about his serves, but they focused more on the similarity with spiking, which I doubt its all too similar at all - because not only was Hinata bad at spikes until halfway through the story, he can't be expected to practice spikes alone anyways, which was the whole point of his flashbacks.

[40K] Where does the loyalty of Mid-level members of various factions lie ?

Like, given the choice to revive any person in their individual living memory, whom would they pick ? Or given the choice to pick a successor, what qualities do they value ?

By mid-level, I the person has to hold significant power over a large number of their faction members, while still being subject to a significant share of powerful people above her/him.

Lets talk about Gotoh

Leorio, Kurapika, Killua, and Gon all managed to push open the multi-ton gates of Zoldyk estate. None of them had any Nen training yet, so its all physical strength here.

We know for a fact Razor is leagues above these Nen-less boys. By the time the boys face him, they have undergone training under Wing & Biscuit, and their talents have been stimulated by encounters with Hisoka & the Troupe, as well as the Greed Island.

If 2 weeks was enough to go from not budging a single door to pushing open the doors, then given the training above the boys should be at least 10s of times stronger on Greed Island.

Yet neither Gon nor Killua could catch any of Razor's balls.

So it is safe to assume he can launch balls with the strength to push open many of the gates easily.

Hisoka did manage to catch Razor's shot with his bungee gum, but when faced with Gotoh's spinning coins his hands were forced into a twist.

So - what kinda destructive force are we looking at when it comes to Gotoh ? Can he level city blocks in Tokyo while shooting from the Sky Tree ? I think he is an underrated beast for the usual scale of HxH fights.

To put into perspective, I think Gotoh would fare far better than Hisoka against someone like Uvogin or Nobunaga.

Rock Lee and Neji team-up, who is the strongest Hollow they can take down 2v1 ?

Naruto vs Bleach

Ichigo and Uryu are on vacation, and it comes to Rock Lee and Neji to team-up and protect the Karakura town.

This is just after Uryu is introduced in Bleach. He gives them all the info he has about hollows before leaving.

Neji and Lee are their teen selves from Shippuden, and have their standard gear. Acceptable win conditions are killing, incapacitation, and permanent BFR.

R1: Grand Fisher Hollow form

R2: random Gillian

R3: random Adjucha

R4: Grand Fisher Arrancar form

R5: How did Ikkaku get here ? Anyways, he is in on the fighting too.

What would be the capture level for these foods ?

In terms of difficulty of finding, capturing, preparing & cooking - what scores would these foods fetch ?

Kaido and Loki's devil fruits - need to kill the creatures and have a fruit ready for the DFs to respawn into. May need to find the DF if it respawns elsewhere. How strong would gourment hunters need to be for capturing them & correctly obtaining the fruit ?

Sensu beans - need to reach Korin's place and either defeat Korin and Yajirobe to take the beans by force, or convince them. Yajirobe did slice through Oozaru Vegeta's tail, and demon Cymbal too. Makes me think these would have a high level just from that, let alone the healing effects.

Tonio Trussardi's Bizzare food - stand user from JoJo's part 4, dude can cook aggressively healthy food. Significantly easier to obtain, but perhaps way harder to find since he does appear to be a regular chef & hardly anybody knows of his powers.

Idunn's Apples - golden apples of asgard, capable of restoring youth and vigor of gods. Might need to be stealthy with this one, stealing food of gods can be tough.

King Cold was a good father, a great leader, and the greatest mortal history buff we saw on-screen

King Cold recovered the remains of his most arrogant and spoiled son, and when Freeza said he was nearly killed by the legendary Super Saiyan - instead of dismissing it, he believed him and made sure to nip the problem in the bud personally.

Instead of sending some underlings, he chose to take immediate action and got personally involved to see things to the end. Him leading by example has inspired Freeza to be more proactive too as we see in Super.

But above his qualities of fatherhood and leadership, stands his love for history.

Dude very clearly knew about the Z Sword, something even Toriyama hadn't heard of at the time. When he saw Trunks dice up Freeza, his mind immediately went to the mythical weapon of gods.

He also knew about, and made abundantly clear to even Freeza, the horrifying existence of Majin Buu and Beerus. Despite the spoiled upbringing and the arrogant nature, Freeza obeying his father when it came to these details shows Cold's parenting prowess.

Of course, like most history buffs, he wasn't immune from exaggerated stories.

It was very refreshing to see a nerd and doting parent like Cold portrayed so respectfully - kudos to Toriyama and the team.
