Advice needed for building a compact terrace shed with my brother

My bro and I are planning to build a small terrace shed on our apartment rooftop to improve storage and create a small usable space. Without making the area feel cramped or difficult to move around in. We are both beginners in construction. So we are trying to keep the design as simple as possible. Though still making sure it can handle basic outdoor conditions like sun, light rain and occasional wind. The idea is a lightweight frame using either treated wood panels or thin metal sheets. Depending on what offers the best balance between durability, cost and ease of assembly. We have been comparing different materials and frame styles online, including some eBay, Amazon and Alibaba listings. But it is clear that similar-looking options can vary a lot in thickness, coating and load capacity. Which makes choosing harder. Our main concern is building a stable base so the structure does not shift or weaken over time. We are also trying to avoid complex methods since we only have basic tools and limited experience. We are unsure whether a raised metal frame or simple concrete footing makes more sense for a rooftop setup. What would you prioritize first when planning a project like this?

How do small offices keep shared paperwork organised during busy reporting cycles?

I work in an agency and in our small office the most recurring issue during busy reporting cycles is not workload. But how quickly shared paperwork becomes disorganized. Atm we rely on a central storage drawer that everyone uses. But during peak weeks it turns into a mixed pile where approvals, prints and draft copies end up difficult to track. I'm incharge of the paperwork and its really draining.

I've been testing a simple office file rack approach where each slot is assigned to a specific project or client so incoming documents do not get dumped into one shared space. I’ve also seen similar setups online, which made me question whether cheaper imported versions actually hold up under daily office use or lose structure over time.

Some colleagues argue labeling discipline and consistent document handling rules matter more than storage especially as teams scale across departments. We are also considering a hybrid approach combining physical organization with lightweight digital tracking for approvals to reduce duplication and lost documents without adding much friction to work. What setup has worked best for keeping shared office paperwork organised? Any recs or advice will be highly appreciated.

Need cheap fixie bike recs

Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy my first fixed gear bike and could really use some advice from people who’ve already used them for daily riding. I’m mainly interested in cheap fixie bikes that can handle regular city commuting, mostly short distances with frequent stops, traffic lights, and a bit of uneven road here and there. Nothing performance-focused, just something reliable, simple and easy to maintain. My budget is on the lower end, so I’ve been looking at entry-level models around the usual budget range with basic steel frames, flip-flop hubs, and standard braking setups. The issue is that reviews seem very mixed, and it’s hard to tell which parts actually matter most for durability versus what is just marketing. I also checked a few listings on Alibaba to compare how similar-looking builds vary in price and specs. But that honestly made it more confusing rather than clearer. Rn I’m trying to understand what should matter most for a first bike like this: frame quality, wheel strength, or gearing setup, especially for everyday city use where the bike will be locked outside and used frequently. If you had to choose one thing to prioritize when buying cheap fixie bikes for daily commuting, what would it be?

Are wood wall dividers worth using in a small US rental for a workspace setup?

Hey, all. So i am setting up a small workspace in a US rental apartment and trying to divide my living area without making permanent changes. I have been looking at different wood wall dividers to create privacy while still keeping the room open and flexible. I also came across some options on Alibaba that look affordable but I am unsure about durability for daily use. My main concern is whether freestanding panels can stay stable in normal apartment conditions with pets and regular movement. I want something removable, easy to adjust, and suitable for long term use in a rented space without damaging floors or walls. For anyone who has installed wood wall dividers in a similar setup in the US, I am trying to understand what stability methods hold up. I have looked at modular options and kits on Alibaba but I am unsure how they compare with local materials for long term durability. What setup would you recommend for balancing stability, privacy, and flexibility when using wood wall dividers in a small US rental apartment today specifically?

Looking for cheap fixie bike advice for daily city commuting

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice before buying my first fixed gear bike and I’d really appreciate input from people with real experience. I plan to use the bike mainly for short daily commutes, about 5 to 10 km per day. Mostly flat roads with frequent stops in city traffic. I want something simple, low maintenance, and affordable. But still reliable enough to last a couple of years without constant repairs. Rn I’m focusing on cheap fixie bike options in the entry level range. I’ve been browsing different listings online and comparing specs and I also came across a wide range of options on marketplaces like Alibaba while researching prices. The amount of variation makes it hard to understand what actually matters at this level. My main concerns are frame quality, safety in traffic, and whether very low cost bikes are worth it or if spending a bit more upfront makes a big difference long term. I’m also unsure which specs are most important for beginners like gearing ratio, brakes, or frame material. If anyone has experience with budget fixies for commuting, what would you rec and what should I avoid? What would you personally choose for a first reliable cheap fixie bike for city commuting?

Should I lease a Nissan Rogue for winter commuting(Requesting advice)

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice from people with real experience owning compact SUVs in winter conditions. I’m planning a move to Minnesota and I’ll be dealing with regular snow, ice, and consistently cold starts. I need something reliable for daily commuting and general use, nothing heavy-duty or off-road focused. Rn I’m considering leasing a Nissan Rogue AWD for about 36 months as a temporary solution while I save for a long-term purchase. It seems practical on paper with decent fuel economy, AWD and relatively low monthly payments, which is important for my current budget. That said, I’ve seen mixed feedback regarding Nissan reliability in newer models and I’m trying to understand how that translates in real-world winter driving. My main concern is avoiding unexpected issues or frequent trips to the shop during the lease period. I don’t need performance or luxury features, just something dependable that will handle winter conditions safely and consistently. I’m also open to alternatives like the Mazda CX-5 or Toyota RAV4 if they are significantly better in terms of reliability or AWD performance. For anyone who has owned or driven a newer Rogue or similar compact SUVs in harsh winters, how has your experience been? Would you choose it again, or go in a different direction? Any honest input would really help me make a more informed decision.

How do I install wood wall dividers on drywall without damaging the wall?

I’m planning to install wood wall dividers using an IKEA VIDGA rail system with slatted wood panels to split a living room into a small home office area in my house. The wall is standard painted drywall over wood studs, and I want the divider to be strong enough that it does not sag or shift over time. Especially since the panels will be around 7 to 8 feet tall and fairly heavy once fully assembled. My main concern is how to properly mount the top rail so it can handle long term weight without relying only on drywall anchors. The stud spacing in my wall does not perfectly line up with the bracket positions. So I’m unsure if I should install a continuous wooden backing board across multiple studs first or try a combination of stud screws and heavy duty anchors. I have also looked at similar modular divider systems on Alibaba. But I’m not confident about their real world stability compared to branded systems like VIDGA. Especially for daily household use. I want the divider to stay rigid and safe once installed but still be removable in the future without leaving major wall damage or requiring full drywall replacement. Has anyone installed IKEA VIDGA style wood wall dividers on drywall and found a reliable mounting method that holds long term without sagging or causing structural issues?

Kickr Core vs high power indoor cycling setups for training benefits

I currently train on a Wahoo Kickr Core and I am trynna figure out whether there is any real advantage to experimenting with extremely high power indoor cycling setups. Like electric bike 10000w systems or if it is mostly unnecessary for structured training. Most of my workouts are done on Zwift with a focus on interval sessions endurance rides and power based progression using the Kickr Core which has been consistent and reliable so far. Recently I have seen people discussing very high watt indoor builds and also came across some conversion kits and complete systems on Alibaba that claim significantly higher resistance output. But I am unsure how realistic those numbers are in actual training conditions. My concern is whether moving beyond a smart trainer like the Kickr Core would actually improve strength cadence control or aerobic development. Or if it would just make training less predictable and harder to track over time. I want to avoid spending time or money on setups that look impressive but do not support structured progression or reliable data tracking. For anyone who has used both a Kickr Core and a high power indoor cycling setup did you find any meaningful training improvement or is sticking with a smart trainer the better long term choice?

Steering feels loose at highway speed after alignment, what should i check?

After getting a wheel alignment done on my nisan car, the steering still feels slightly loose at highway speeds around 80–100 km/h. It’s not unsafe. But the car doesn’t feel as stable or planted as it used to. Especially on straights and mild curves. The tires are fairly new and have already been balanced. I also checked tire pressure multiple times just to rule out something simple, but the behavior hasn’t changed. A suspension inspection didn’t reveal anything obviously broken. Though the mechanic mentioned there could be early wear in bushings or some play starting in the steering rack that isn’t easy to notice visually. I’ve also been trying to narrow down whether this is mechanical or alignment-related because it showed up right after the alignment work. I’m not sure if something could have been set slightly out of spec or if another underlying issue just became more noticeable afterward. While researching possible fixes, I saw aftermarket steering rack and bushing parts online, including listings on Facebook marketplace and Alibaba but I’m not confident about using non-OEM steering components for something that affects stability. Has anyone experienced this kind of 'loose steering after alignment' issue on a nisan car where everything looks fine but the highway feel is still off, and what actually ended up being the root cause in your case?

1973 VW bus ignition issue only starts when key is released, what am I missing?

I’m trying to diagnose a persistent ignition issue on my 1973 VW bus and I’ve hit a point where I can’t tell if it’s wiring relay or a grounding fault. The symptom is consistent when I turn the key to start nothing happens until I release it and then the engine catches immediately. I’ve already replaced the ignition switch twice so I’m leaning away from the switch itself and more toward wiring wear a faulty starter relay or voltage drop under load. I checked the starter and it cranks fine when bypassed which makes me think the issue is somewhere between the ignition circuit and the solenoid trigger wire. Some people suggested adding a relay upgrade to reduce load on the ignition switch but I’m unsure if that would fix the underlying fault or just mask it. I also inspected the harness under the dash and didn’t find obvious damage though some connectors are aged and could be intermittently failing. At this point I’m trying to narrow it rather than guessing parts if anyone has seen this exact start behavior on a VW bus before what was the actual root cause in your case and how did you confirm it?

2012 Corolla vibration only under light throttle at 35–55 mph, what should I check first?

I’m trying to diagnose a specific issue on my 2012 Toyota Corolla LE (1.8L, automatic, ~138,000 miles). And I want to narrow it down before I start replacing parts. The symptom is a steady vibration that only happens between about 35–55 mph. It shows up most clearly when I’m lightly pressing the accelerator on flat roads or slight inclines. It feels like a low humming vibration through the steering wheel and floor, more noticeable on the driver side. If I completely let off the gas, the vibration mostly disappears. If I accelerate harder. It changes slightly but doesn’t go away completely. Above ~60 mph it’s barely noticeable. So far I’ve already had a recent tire balance and rotation (about 1,000 miles ago), and the tires show even wear with no visible cupping or bulges. I checked engine mounts visually and didn’t see obvious cracks or separation, but I haven’t done a loaded torque test. No warning lights are on, and shifting feels normal with no slipping or hard shifts. I also compared similar cases and looked at common replacement parts like CV axles and mounts while browsing Alibaba listings. Jus to understand what typically fails around this mileage. Before I start guessing, should I be looking first at inner CV joints, transmission mount, or wheel hub/bearing play as the most likely cause in this speed-specific, light-load vibration scenario?

Is my wood slat divider unsafe due to ceiling mounting or joist miss?

I installed a wood slat divider in my townhouse living room last week to split a 12 ft × 10 ft open space into a small office area. It’s built with 1.5 inch oak vertical slats, spaced 2 inches apart, mounted on a 6 ft long base cabinet. The full height is about 88 inches and I secured the top using two 90-degree metal brackets screwed into the ceiling. The problem is that the top connection near the HVAC vent has slight movement when air is running or when someone walks nearby. It’s not a huge swing, maybe 1–2 mm. But I can hear a faint creak at the bracket contact point. I used a stud finder before drilling, but I’m now unsure if I actually hit a joist or just drywall with inconsistent backing. The base is completely stable. So all the stress seems to be at the ceiling attachment. The ceiling also has a light texture, so the bracket doesn’t sit perfectly flush even with washers added. I looked at commercial wood wall divider systems and even checked Amazon, eBay and Alibaba listings for similar setups but none clearly show how they handle ceiling anchoring in finished homes. For something like this in a finished townhouse, is this usually fixed by re-anchoring into confirmed joists, adding lateral bracing, or switching to a different ceiling mounting method entirely?

Anyone know why my photocopy machine keeps acting up?

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here might have some insight into a strange issue I’ve been dealing with. I have a photocopy machine in my small workspace that used to run smoothly, but lately it has been giving me a mix of problems that are hard to pin down. It sometimes jams halfway through a copy, and when it doesn’t jam, the pages can come out faint or uneven. A few jobs have even stopped suddenly without any explanation, which makes troubleshooting confusing. I’ve already gone through the usual steps like checking the toner, wiping the rollers, restarting the machine, and making sure nothing is stuck in the paper path. I did look around for replacement parts just in case, and I noticed a few options on Alibaba, but I’m not sure what parts are actually worth trying because I don’t want to buy something unnecessary. Before I call a technician, I wanted to ask if anyone here has dealt with similar symptoms. Do fading prints and random jams usually point to worn rollers, a toner issue, or possibly a problem with the internal sensors? What would you test first to narrow it down?

What shoes do you recommend for gym plus casual wear?

Hi all, I’m trying to reduce the number of shoes I carry, so I’m looking for something I can wear for gym workouts and casual use. Rn I usually carry separate pairs for training and everyday errands, which feels inconvenient when I’m moving between work, commuting, and gym sessions. Ideally, I want something versatile enough for treadmill runs, bodyweight exercises, and lifting, while still being comfortable enough for walking or going out without feeling out of place. I’ve been looking at options from brands like ASICS, Nike, and New Balance since they all have training or cross-use models, but it’s hard to tell which ones perform well in both settings rather than just looking good on paper. Comfort and long-term support are important because I tend to wear shoes for long hours, and I don’t want something that breaks down quickly or feels unstable after a few weeks. I even browsed different listings online, including Alibaba, to compare designs and materials, and it made me realize how wide the range is, which also made choosing harder. For people who regularly use one pair for both gym and casual wear, what models have worked best for you, and is a true all-in-one shoe realistic or always a compromise?

Is anyone else’s HP printer randomly acting like it wants to be something else

I’m hoping someone here has seen this because my HP printer has started behaving in a way that makes absolutely no sense. It recently began taking an unusually long time to start printing and the delay feels like it is preparing for some huge task that never actually happens. It makes warm up noises that are familiar but the duration is far beyond what it used to do. At first I thought it was a one time glitch but it has happened every day this week. It almost behaves as if it wants to function like a photocopy machine even when I am only trying to print a simple page. I have not changed anything in my setup. Same desk same WiFi same paper and the same cartridges. I checked inside to make sure nothing was blocking the rollers and everything looks clean. I restarted the printer and the network equipment and nothing changed. It still acts like it is preparing for something big instead of just printing a document. I did come across posts on Facebook marketplace nd Alibaba describing similar behavior although no one shared a reliable explanation. Before I start resetting everything to factory settings I wanted to ask this community for ideas. What could cause this?

Looking for budget friendly mini bike for long road trips

I’m trying to figure out a simple setup for upcoming road trips on a tight budget and could use advice from riders who’ve actually tested small machines over distance. I’ve been looking at the idea of using a mini motor bike for short to medium road trips, mostly paved backroads n occasional gravel sections. I don’t need high speed or premium parts, just something that starts reliably, is easy to fix, and won’t leave me stranded far from towns. I’ve browsed a few listings online, including some on Facebook marketplace, Craigslist, eBay, n Alibaba. But it’s hard to tell what is actually worth buying versus what looks good in photos but struggles under real use. If anyone here has used something similar for travel, I’d really appreciate recs on models, setup tips, and what to avoid. I’m especially interested in fuel range, load carrying ability, and how manageable maintenance is while on the road. Any real world experience or suggestions would help a lot.

What mods have actually made the biggest difference for you?

Yesterday I was reading through different rider discussions and started thinking about what mods actually make a real difference on a bike in everyday use. I'm a 21f rider and still figuring out what direction to take with my bike. So I'm trying to learn from others who have already tested different upgrades. I've seen people talk about suspension brakes gearing and comfort changes but it's hard to know what actually transforms the ride versus what is just small improvement. I also looked at parts on Facebook marketplace and Alibaba to compare what's available and how different kits are presented. I came across the yamaha tmax motorcycle while researching scooter style builds and it made me curious how much mods really change the riding experience. For context I'm thinking about doing a small mod and want honest advice before I commit to anything. I'm mainly trying to understand whether most meaningful improvements come from handling comfort or power related changes since my goal is a balanced setup for regular riding rather than anything extreme or overly specialized in real world riding conditions daily. From your experience what single mod made the biggest difference and would you still recommend it for someone starting out?

Has anyone designed a room around an aquarium without it becoming too distracting?

I’ve been thinking about adding a fish aquarium to my living room because I really like the calm atmosphere they seem to create, especially in spaces that feel a little empty or flat. The idea of having soft lighting and movement in the room sounds relaxing. But I’m still unsure how practical it is long term in an everyday home setting. I’ve seen setups where the aquarium becomes the main focal point of the room and others where it blends naturally into shelves, cabinets, or divider walls. Some designs look incredibly peaceful while others seem too bright or visually overwhelming for smaller spaces. I even spent some time browsing eBay, Alibaba, n Amazon to compare tank styles, lighting setups, and stand designs. But it is difficult to know what actually looks good in a normal home versus staged photos online. My biggest concern is balancing appearance with practicality because maintenance, wiring, filters, and cleaning all seem like things that could become frustrating if the setup is not planned properly from the beginning. For people who already have aquariums as part of their home deco. Did it genuinely improve the feel of the space over time, and what size or placement would you personally rec for keeping the room calm and visually balanced?

Are budget electric setups actually worth it for mixed trail and street riding?

I’ve been riding regular motorized bicycle builds for a while and recently started wondering if switching to an electric motocross bike setup would actually make sense for the type of riding I do now. Most of my riding is a mix of dirt paths, side roads, and short local trips. So reliability and low maintenance matter more to me than chasing extreme speed or performance. What I keep struggling with is figuring out whether lower budget electric options are genuinely dependable or if they usually need expensive upgrades shortly after purchase. I’ve looked through local used listings and also checked Alibaba to compare pricing and specifications, but it is difficult to tell which bikes are actually solid and which ones only sound good online. I’m not trying to build anything unsafe or push crazy power. I mainly want something stable enough for rough terrain while still being practical for casual riding during the week. Battery longevity and replacement costs are probably my biggest concerns coz I do not want to save money initially and then spend much more later fixing problems or replacing components. For riders here who have experience with both gas and electric setups, are budget electric options realistically worth considering right now, and what models would you personally trust for dependable everyday use?
