Which Tanks bully Emma?

Which Tanks bully Emma?

The problem with Emma is that no tanks bully her. No tank can really force her to swap off. She has a positive matchup at best, or neutral matchup at worst, against all tanks. Meanwhile, other tanks have actual negative matchups.

She cooks all brawl tanks. Dive tanks have enough mobility to avoid and/or bait her for a neutral matchup.

Perhaps her best tank counters are Mag and DP, but I wouldn’t say they bully her the way she bullies other tanks. They just out range her. Maybe Groot can block her heals, but she can also farm her beam pretty good.

Thoughts?

Edit — Yall are inspiring me to learn rogue. Thanks. I’ve been looking for a reason to pick her up!!

Is this guy cheeks now?

I tried using him a few times this season, and he just doesn’t shred like he used to. Feel like, if I didn’t crit every shot, nothing was dying. Miss a shot, and they are back at full health. Not saying I gotta kill everything, but he at least had enough offensive pressure to make people fall back, make space, etc.

I remember when DP could challenge Thor for the DPS tank title. Now, not so much. They massacred my boy. Without damage, this guy has no real means of making/holding any space imo.

Best way to use spear? Any advanced tips?

Hey yall. What’s the best way to use spear?

Do you spear off cooldown, or do you wait until enemy is low health? Wait until beam is charged and then spear?

When do you go crystal to melee it?

This guy’s sword form is too oppressive to tanks

Yeah, I know he’s a tankbuster, but other tankbusters are healthy in comparison.

Other tankbusters balance lethality with openings for counterplay. They have attack patterns that tanks can still fight back against and cooldowns that limit their uptime.

Blade sword form is problematic because it has infinite uptime. Once he goes in, he doesn’t have to come back out. He just sticks onto the tank until the tank dies. And that’s not even considering the anti heal and slow he applies.

What do yall think (specifically tank players)? How would you adjust the form to be more balanced?

Heroes that are strong with coordination do not need nerfs. Leave Cap alone bro.

Cap is what a strong but balanced hero should look like. This is a team game. When I win with Cap, I never feel like I did it alone. When I lose to a Cap, I never feel like there’s nothing my team could’ve done. Isn’t team play and coordination the goal? A nerf to cap is a nerf to team play.

Cap rewards skill, game sense, and team coordination, but he has many counters. He has no passive value, and won’t win MVPs or rack up 25 final hits. He doesn’t have an instant value button that will kill everyone or keep everyone alive (besides his ult, and even that requires coordination.) He doesn’t have mindless spam value either. He can create winning opportunities for his team, but he rarely does it on his own. Thats why despite how strong he can be, he is consistently amongst the lowest picked tanks.

If a hero is strong when you play as a team, that’s a GOOD thing. ALL heroes should be reliant on their team to unlock their full potential. How can you disagree???

Cap is solid yes, but his strength is team dependent. Always has been. If your team can’t control a Cap it’s because your team is cheeks or his team is enabling him. He doesn’t single handedly overwhelm his counters.

Nerfing Cap (and others like him) sends the wrong message and establishes an awful precedent. It discourages team play.

Leave Cap alone bro.

Heroes that are strong with no team coordination whatsoever, that single handedly determine the outcome of a match — THOSE are the ones we should be nerfing.

That is all.

Edit - Some of yall mentioning his ult charge mechanic. One, his ult charge mechanic is not busted like gambits. His ult does not lock on and does not boost damage, so he charges significantly less than Gambit’s. Two, the ult charge mechanic discourages using his ult selfishly, and encourages his team playing with him. Take it away, and Caps will go back to solo ulting backlines. Is that what you want? In both cases, the ult charge promotes team play. The game is healthier this way.

Edit 2 - This isn’t just about Cap. It’s about tank agency. Cap is strong in part because he doesn’t have the same weaknesses as most other tanks. He isn’t a CC victim, he doesn’t get farmed and exploded by poke, can’t get easily kidnapped or walled off, etc. Tanking is difficult enough as it is. You want less of tanks? Leave em alone man.

The amount of notifications and events is out of control 😭

Like seriously wtf is all this? I can’t keep track of it all, to the point that I gave up. I’ve accepted that I simply can’t keep up with every little thing, but the clutter still bothers me.

Is there a way to turn notifications off? Adjust the Home Screen layout somehow?

Whoever is in charge of UI — Do yall not realize the more you clutter everything, the less people will actually engage? Yall seriously don’t think you cant make this better somehow?? You shouldn’t be beating your player base into submission. You won’t win.

Edit - Those of you defending this makes zero sense and clearly have no understanding of user experience. If any other interface was like this, on an app or operating system or website or whatever. Yall understand that in any other industry, they go out of business for UI like this right? Assaulting the user with too many options, sales, and alerts is objectively horrible design. Period. People literally study this stuff and hire teams to avoid exactly this problem. If you don’t agree, the problem is you.

Stop giving ranged heroes so much mobility.

Lack of mobility should be the price you pay for being able to two tap people across the map. It’s a healthy trade off that makes a ranged hero vulnerable to being contested up close, because they have the absolute advantage at distance. Balanced. Fair.

Devs understood this in the beginning with ranged archetypes like Hela and Hawkeye (BW doesn’t have much going for her so I’m going to leave her alone).

Then Phoenix came along and they started to explore this notion of undivable poke. Not surprisingly, she’s a top dps every season. Release Elsa had WAY too much mobility for the amount of damage she did at range (not enough fall off).

Now look at Cyclops. This fool has better rollouts than most dive/melee heroes. Can even fly, for no reason at all. His mobility even knocks the enemy back. His mobility lets him completely reset the engagement in his favor by creating enough space so he can crit you again. Having enough mobility to escape/reposition is one thing, but this dude travels WAY too far.

STOP giving range heroes so much mobility. It’s just poor game design. It’s OKAY for heroes to have trade offs and weaknesses.

Edit - If you want range AND mobility, give up damage. No two taps. Thats how flankers are balanced (Starlord, Psy, etc).

Edit 2- On the topic of countering counters, Cyclops also hits around corners. How do you deal with ranged poke? You dive! You break line of sight! Cyclops has answers to both of these. Stupid design.

Edit 3 - The people praising Cyclops design for being lore accurate only want lore accuracy to apply to Cyclops. If yall want lore accuracy, cool. Allow Cap shield to deflect cyclops ult so I can explode him and his team every time. Is that not fair?? Either lore/design matters or it doesn’t.

The first part of this guy’s ult comes out too fast

Is a skill issue on my part or does it come out too fast? It’s like instant. Reminds me of the busted MK ults (although that was admittedly worse)

I know the second part is reactable, but I’ve died a few times to the first part as well, even across the map. It’s just really obnoxious because there doesn’t seem to be anything I can do about getting hit by it. Needs more delay between him yelling and doing damage.

Edit - Some of yall are downplaying the damage in the first part of his ult. Stop it. Here are some numbers:

The first part of his ult does 75 + 20% max HP.

Meaning for a 250 hero, it does 125 damage (HALF their health). For 600 HP hero, it does 195 (almost a third).

This is too much burst damage for something you can’t react to at all, and can hit you across the map. Thats not even considering if it’s damage boosted by mantis, storm, rocket ult, gambit ult, etc.

I don’t get this guys mobility. What settings am I supposed to use? (Console)

I watch other venoms and they are quite fluid with their mobility. Bhopping everywhere. Quick climbs and slams.

Me, I get stuck on random walls. Some give me enough height to slam. Others don’t. I crawl when I want to run, I run when I want to crawl. I sling in some random direction and die, rarely actually grabbing onto what I want to grab onto.

What settings am I supposed to use for my swings and wall climbs?

Edit - I’m a tank main trying to add venom to my roster. Don’t have a lot of hours on him but I’m trying to give him an honest go because I do recognize his value.

How do you know you’re tanking poorly?

It’s easy to blame supports/DPS.

It’s also easy to disregard stats.

How do you ensure your performance?

Deaths are pretty obvious for tanks. Anything else?

Which skin has personal significance to you?

I know most of us enjoy skins because they look cool/sexy or because of comic lore, but do any have actual personal significance to you? Something that reflects your job, your lifestyle, your interests?

Perhaps a disco skin because it’s your favorite genre?

A college skin because you’re a bookworm?

A pirate skin because you always dress up as a pirate for Halloween?

A football skin because you’re a football player?

I’m in the medical field, so I just love this Strange skin!

So what’s right with this guy in pro play?

Hey yall. Im a tank main playing since s0, end up between high GM/Low celestial. Cap is my main, well over 1000 hours in the guy.

I’ve always felt he was a strong pick, solid at worst, even when the community disagreed.

Last season was the first time I started checking out some pro games, and thought it was awesome to see Cap pop up every now and then. I just love watching him cook. Now this season, dude seems like pick or ban.

Then there’s the tiers. Across the board, most high elo players/pros I’ve come across consistently rank him top tier.

Again, I don’t disagree. Dude has always been a beast to me. But you go on over to the Cap sub and even the vanguard mains sub so many people think Cap is mid. (The vanguard sub overvalues shield tanks in general.)

The short answer people give as to why he succeeds in pro play is because he thrives in coordinated teams. (Which is funny, because that fulfills his hero fantasy even more — Cap is the quintessential team player.)

My question is, what exactly does “coordinated play” mean? Like, what is a pro cap player doing to coordinate with his team? What are his call outs like? How are they choosing targets? What is their general philosophy? What are their teams doing to enable him?

I’m asking because casual caps dismiss pro play as something they can’t learn from. It’s just a different game and that’s that, discussion over. But maybe there’s something to be learned and actually improved upon. What might that be?

What was Hulk’s peak “superhero moment” in Infinity War/Endgame?

I was watching these films the other day, and saw how the different major players got their chance to shine, some big emotional payoff or epic scene that reminds the audience these are superheroes.

Thor getting blasted by a star then pulling up in Wakanda like a true God of Thunder.

Cap lifting Mjolnir and giving Thanos the business, and standing up to his army.

Tony making Thanos bleed on Titan, then the final snap at the end.

Strange’s cool ass fight against Thanos on Titan as well, and his fight against ebony maw was pretty memorable as well.

Hawkeye / Black Widow fight over the soul stone.

Hulk…? The two most memorable scenes for me are him getting bullied by Thanos and him making the snap that brought everyone back. Both of these are pretty underwhelming to his hero fantasy imo.

Thoughts?

When the angry mutant T Rex actually turns out to play like an angry mutant T Rex.

Like what part of this didn’t sound cool to you off the rip?

u/SatisfactionSad6558 — 2 months ago

Can we talk about how cool this MFer looks?

The trailer gave me chills.

Yeah I know cyclops etc etc, but I thought the way they brought in devil dinosaur at the end was also badass. I know some people were worried he would look like a goofy mascot, so maybe this will calm some people down.

New Emma enthusiast here. Just hit a game winning choke slam KO on an ulting Spidey

I feel like such a badass. Any other cool Emma achievements I should know about?? I’ve gotten Wanda a few times.

I’m a tank main learning Emma. I tried a few seasons ago but she just didn’t click with me. Got pretty tired of Thor/Hulk/Thing in my face so decided to give her another shot. Been playing her a lot this season and I think I see the vision now.
