Physicist Richard Tolman, in 1930, demonstrated that entropy in standard cyclic cosmology will accumulate with each cycle I propose a thought experiment using a Big Freeze / Heat Death as a starting point instead of a Big Crunch: Instead of the universe collapsing in on itself to restart, we let it expand into a cold, empty Big Freeze, in which black holes slowly evaporate away via Hawking radiation. In this cold, empty void, a quantum tunneling event randomly occurs, causing vacuum decay in the form of a phase transition to occur in a localized region of space, releasing latent energy stored in a scalar field as it transitions to a lower energy state, causing reheating. The new bubble formed from the phase transition undergoes a period of hyperinflation, creating a new hot dense environment from the energy contained in the false vacuum. The extreme inflation would dilute the old universe’s entropy / radiation away to nearly nothing per unit volume, giving the new bubble a low-entropy starting point. The energy from the scalar field drives the expansion of the new bubble for the next cycle – no need to re-collapse back into a singularity or have a Big Crunch to begin with.
What are main flaws or physical limitations of this thought experiment?
EDIT: In the title, I meant Descartes
The title is a bit confusing but I'll try to explain.
This is a quite big critique of mine about Descartes methodology.
He sat all alone, thought of everything he believed, and doubted it. Which, must have forced him to form new beliefs. But, I find it intriguing that he didn't seek to ask people what they thought of a certain belief or concept.
Reasoning is an echo in solitude. You can only reason with what YOU see, you observe, you know, you think. But, listening to others reasoning helps you see the multidimensional puzzle.
However, Descartes never did that. How can one truly build that puzzle alone?
I know that it depends on how the aliens are like and behave but what would we probably do about it? we can't just use nukes, right? That would harm whole countries. And, if these aliens are far smarter and more advanced--- what are possible things that you think may happen?
Up here in this lovely picture is my results in the Sakinorva test.
Lovely how my functions here seem very unclear, hehe.
Some background for you peeps: So, when I started my interest in MBTI I initially thought I was an INTJ. But, with a bit of cognitive functions research, more tests, and AI feedback (Yes, Ik it isn't trustworthy) I began to think I was instead an INTP.
And, if you have given the title of this post a look or two you may already know the third type put under the speculation of my dear self--- ENTP.
So, I'll yapp about who I am for a paragraph or two.
My fav color is white (For those who call it boring, you're boring. For those claiming It Isn't a colour... you're technically correct but It's ALL colors, okay?)
I'm a writer (I write fiction mostly crime or psychological thriller.) I also like reading, baking, research, and debate. Additionally, I am interested in astronomy, psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and aeroplanes (THEY'RE SO COOL.) I am Aro/Ace and Agender I don't rlly care what pronouns you use too. Ohh, and I'm agnostic atheist.
I also dislike people who act preformative for social purposes bc I jst think they're wasting their lives pleasing people instead of themselves...
I love making routines but I lwky follow them for two days and then get bored and do nothing. I'm not unorganised but I'm not organised, I'm both... like there is a constant tug-of-war between the two sides so I can be both but I generally lean more towards disorganised but I can be the extreme for both.
Ask me wtvr too in the comments if ya want.
THANKS MY PEEPS YOU GET +100 jeopardy points now :3
I currently mod one subreddit, r/neurodivergentINTP and am open to mod more. I would say I'm quite active, not chronically online but every 2-3 days I'll be online.
- I don't mod subreddits that are NSFW
- I don't mod subreddits that relay mainly AI
Debate me if you want, but I'll start by saying I support the existence of God and omnipotence.
Here's my argument for this claim if you care to debate: When you hold something, how are you holding it? It seems simple at first, its because your hand exists. But your hand couldn't hold that object if it weren't for your arm, your arm can't support your hand if it weren't for your body. Your body, wouldn't be able to hold it up in THAT position if it weren't for the floor underneath. The floor wouldn't exist without the ground, the ground can't exist without Earth, Earth wouldn't be a thing if it weren't for gravity, gravity can't exist without spacetime bending, spacetime can't bend without mass, mass doesn't exist if not for matter, matter won't exist if not for atoms... and if you keep thinking you can go on and on forever. The logical pattern is that everything borrows it's power from something. But, of everything borrows its power from something then there has to be something which gives power without borrowing it. That, is the concept of god— or, at least omnipotence. However, one can't believe omnipotence without believing god for one who has omnipotence IS god.
Now, second claim is about the "rules" being stupid. I am Muslim, but my religion aside all religions seem to have the same problem in there texts. Here's my argument for anyone who wants to nitpick or debate:
They present a condition or "rule" without presenting why it exists. This is problematic for one can't follow such rule without seeing the logic which backs it up.
Furthermore, suffering exists. I see many debates where atheists or non-theistic satanists use this as an argument. I do see many reasons why suffering may exist like to test someone's faith, to encourage development and wonder for medicane, science, politics, and laws which in term develop ones personality and idea of truth. E.g, ones younger sibling may die from cancer so that person decides to dedicate his/her life to finding a cure. And, in term find it which encourages curiousity and inspires others. Or, not find it which still inspires others to follow their footprints. However, I don't see the reason why religious texts don't specify why suffering exists.
If you followed through, you probably would've picked up that my issue is with the lack of reasoning and not the condition itself. I get that this absence of reasoning may be to encourage others to find their own reasoning. But, same as a doctor with the cure to cancer can't be believed unless they explain why it cures cancer, religious texts with the truth can't be believed without explaining why it's the truth.
People, start to find reasoning in these texts as they have existed for thousands of years and follow them. While, others don't find meaning amd don't choose to follow them.
That's my perspective, if you have any argument to add or to go against any of the above; I encourage interaction.
I just finished the book and was quite pleased with the last few chapters but the ending was... wow. It was okay but I thought we would leave at another ending.
Legit the plot twists we're A LOT. Like, bro, Bel...
>!How haven't you noticed that your cousin is actually you're sister for all 18 years of your life? How have you not noticed the notes in all of those books? How have you not gotten suspicious of the saw and truck area?!<
Anyways, I heard some people liked it and many didn't. What do you think?
I don't have a lot to say, lol.
I don't hate anything or "love" anything or "hate" anything. I guess I'm a pretty plain person. I like stuff Ig but not a bunch of stuff and dislike a few stuff.
I like research, astronomy, psychology, and writing.
I dislike loud noises and pencil, chair, shoes, and floor scraping noises (sensory issues or misphonia or smth.) I also dislike it when people ask me the sorta questions like "what's one experience that changed your life?" Or "what's one thing someone told you that you'll never forget?" Or "what do you find yourself feeling the most?" Like, mf idk and they always tell me, "think." Like idk and if I knew I wouldn't tell you.
My favourite color isn't smth I really have. I don't have a "favourite" but when people ask, I tend to say white bc it's legit like a blank canvas which symbolises my lack of having a favourite color.
I ain't chronically online, I don't use a lot of social media. I only uses a few things and try to restrict usage of others and my notifications are off, phone on greyscale. But, sometimes I cheat lol.
That's it.
And, errr idk what else there isn't a lot of photos so it may be a bit hard to guess.
I am really good at mathematical concepts, physics, etc.
But, I suck at spelling. I searched about this strange phenomenon for a while and found that it's related to aphantasia.
So, I wonder, does anyone else also experience this?
Share your experience and thoughts.
What do you think?
'Ello, everyone.
I am here to ask the most commonly ask question among us, do you prefer L or Light... or Near? (IK most people don't usually ask Near in this question but I think he deserves some appreciation, right??)
SPOILER: I really think L's or Light's death doesn't make them less of a mastermind. All three are geniuses, what's your type of genius and why?
I personally prefer L, he's very relatable and a very good detective.
I have a one week holiday from school, AMAZING, right?
For this holiday, I just want to be alone at home with my sanity intact.
BUT, so far, everyday of the holiday I've been going out to family, friends, or just random people idk because of my parents. 😭
The thing is, the reason I LIKE holidays is bc I get to stay away from ppl. NOT to go out from 3pm - 1am wanting to die when I get back...
Everyone says holidays are for seeing ppl and going out... HELPPPP
POV: most INTP's (not my images)
Hello, all fellow fans.
As some of you may or may not know, the anime awards have been recently announced and Maomao, from The Apothecary Diaries, received the award for best main character. Ergo, beating it's contenders Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia, Momo from Dan Da Dan, Okarun from Dan Da Dan, Rudo from Gachiakuta, and Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling.
This is a massive achievement for TOHO animation STUDIO×OLM and Akinori Fudesaka, Norihiro Naganuma.
Additionally winning, best director, best drama Anime, best Japanese voice actor (Maomao), and Best Hindi voice actor (Jinshi).
What are your thoughts? Do you think it deserved to win more awards, less awards, other award?
Drop anything in the comments.
