My husband uses AI all the time for meaningless stuff - making joke songs or pictures to entertain himself. But he does it with our son 9M now, and has even had AI write a short story to read to him at bed time. I hate it so much, but it's worse now because I'm away for the weekend and he's just sent me a picture of our son with no caption or comment, which is clearly AI. If I were to guess why, I think he was testing out a hair style as our son said he wants to get his hair cut this week. But why?? Why does he need to? I don't want my son's image being fed into AI!

I've tried to talk to my husband about all this before but I'm not very good at explaining why AI is so bad in these contexts. He can understand it being an issue like, companies using it for graphics for example as it takes away someone's job, but his argument is that he's just doing it for himself and our son, as entertainment. The environmental thing doesn't bother him at all, he says there's worse going on and he's one person who won't make a difference.

It just makes me so deeply uncomfortable, but he just doesn't see it as a big deal and thinks I'm being extreme and irrational (he's not used those specific words, but it sums it up well) so my discomfort isn't enough for him to stop on it's own.

I will be clear, because reddit relationship subs obviously only see 0.0001% of the entire picture and often make very sweeping assumptions - my husband is a wonderful man. He's kind and generous and hard working and cares more about me and our son than anything in the world, he's generally a wonderful parent. I just really need him to stop using AI all the time and ESPECIALLY for pictures of our son.

People are always shocked when I tell them that I watch on average 4-5 movies a week, usually more. One of the reasons for this is because my partner and I take it in turns to curate trilogies to show each other and it's a great way for us to discover new movies, but also to show eachother movies we love that they haven't seen.

There's really no "rules" to what makes a trilogy and in the past they have been incredibly tenuous (every few months my trilogy will literally just be "movies I keep meaning to watch but haven't got around to") but generally the themes will fall into one of these categories:

-Canon trilogy (eg back to the future, lord of the rings, the cornetto trilogy)

-Actor (they don't have to be the lead, as long as they have a credit in the movie it can count, even if it's just a cameo)

-Director/Producer etc.

-Release year

-Similar titles (I recently did a trilogy with Project X, Project Hail Mary and The Adam Project)

-Plot themes (eg "movies where the lead character taps into unrealised potential" could include Lucy, Limitless, Transcendence)

-Similar movie posters (eg The Prestige, Double Jeopardy and Unbreakable)

One of my favourite trilogies I did recently was Martian, Interstellar and Arrival. I actually loved Project Hail Mary because it felt like a perfect mix of all 3 of these movies, so I'm rebranding it as the "deconstructed PHM trilogy".

I'm curious to know if you've ever thought "these guys are spiritually a trilogy" about 3 seemingly unrelated movies. What trilogies would you put together?

We've lived here 5 years on a nice quiet cul de sac, there are a few other cats here (4 regulars I can think of) and my cat Pepé Silvia has always gotten on with them all. You'll see him hanging out or playing with them during the day. One of them, Nord, is like his best friend. He's literally let himself into our house before and wandered around and it's never bothered Pepé. An orange cat moved into the street a couple years ago and it was never an issue, they got along from the start just fine.

The issue is a tabby cat moved in to the street maybe 4 months ago, though I'm not sure who the owners are, and since then Pepé and this cat gave been in multiple fights. We split them up when we can and bring him in, but the one I just split up was bad, the other cats claw had ripped out and got lodged in Pepés head.

Pepé is neutered, and has never been territorial with the other cats including Nord who is also male. I'm unsure of the sexes of the other ones. I've not noticed the tabby getting into fights with the other cats either.

What could be going on with this one specific cat? Is there anything we can do?

I'm not even kidding I will pay you for it 😅

Right at the start I asked the security guard and he was on it and at the end grabbed it for me only for another guard to tell him he wasn't allowed to, then 2 minutes later gave it to someone else 😭
