Now without further ado...let's talk about the good and bad aspects of animal. Before going in, I have also see movies in different perspectives and tones, I've seen

Also I will share my reasons on why I didn't like this movie that much, along with my pet peeve regarding the fanbase of this movie

POSITIVES :

GOOD MUSIC SCORE :

We can agree that Animal and SRV in general has a good taste for music. Esp the bgms are well done , Harshavardhan and Rameshwar did a splendid job in that department .

ENSEMBLE CAST :

Let's get this out first, this movie had a terrific cast , esp Ranbir Kapoor and Anil kapoor were showing stealers, Ranbir did an outstanding d

Job of showing a deranged lunatic with daddy issues very well , and Anil Kapoor being a emotional distant dad too... Rashmika Mandanna while being trolled by north audiences bcozof that one scene, she was also very good , well same cannot be said for those punjab brothers tho.....

SCREENPLAY :

SRV knows how to show a scene tbh....he is a technical craftsman at his directorship, like how he shows scenes and his Good screenplay sense helped the movie imo

NEGATIVES :

THAT ROMANTIC SEGMENT:

now let's get to first problem, Geethanjali is arguably the most dumb women in general, not like our loosu ponnu trope in Kollywood, but I cannot one as much as I know this is a movie, that big pelvis dialogue is the pinnacle of stupid s**t from mouth happening imo, and while the second half shows how their relationship sours soo bad that Ranvijay intends to even shoot his wife using a shotgun...... Still in any way atleast Arjun Reddy "love" feltmore realistic than this ......

HUMOUR IN UNNECESSARY PLACES :

that entire underwear scene is where I realised this movie could've worked well as a dark comedy movie , but how can I seriously see that gun fight pre interval tbh....when our protagonists steals the underwear from the gun dealer whom he brought that gatling gun lol....

SECOND HALF DERAILMENT AND WASTED VILLAIN POTENTIAL:

Let's talk about the camel back breaker here....for all the humour and cringe first half had , that was entertaining

Second half shows us a great villain ....or was supposed to be , And Bobby deol intro was too good with that music and his menacing nature, this is where I thought this movie gonna be cooking....

But sadly it didnt , instead of SRV focusing on how Abra Haique muted himself and why Ranvijay's father and he had bad blood or enemity , director focused on Tripti Dimri and her affair with Ranvijay, and the entire second half became pathi patni or woah....

Worse is that Boby deol was the most hyped in the promotional materials of the movie, while I agree that honey trap idea is interesting , it took the most necessary time needed for the villain to shine imo, and then he is k*lled by Ranvijay in the end with the entire fight having more sexual tension .

This is the main criticism i had with this movie, not with the MC being an A$$hole, but the wasted potential of the movie in second half , also the MC sometimes doing dumb random sh** madee think this movie is some Balck comedy

FANBASE OF IDIOTS :

the amount of people justifying the BS Ranvijay did was too unreal in social media , esp they really believed that Pelvis dialogue, which had made me a good chuckle

But the most concerning part is there mental gymnastics in trying to justify:

Ranvijay cheating on his wife

Ranvijay saying he can cheat on her , she should not

And specially killing his wife almost with a shotgun

some northern fans were saying that is how a real man should do....like I was flabbergasted at this demand for DV against your spouse , esp.in the same movie that women was defending that A**fuck against her own parents, all for bad mouthing a dad who was non-existent in his life 🤦🤦🤦

Like this movie was a golden templates for those red -pilled incels in India like how American Psycho was for sigma edits (weird enough, Christian Bale himself bashed that character, which made the sigma community die down )

this became or still is a main reason that I hated the movie, esp northern side fans who justify these things , Ranvijay is a A$$hole first and foremost , that's the point but you cannot fricking justify his BS

Let's talk about MCU and DCEU for a moment and the reason why one succeded and other failed

Take spiderman BND which grossed 2.1 billion ,if u watched all spiderman movies you can see some core traits being same

**Spidey saving everyone even when the odds are against him

**Spidey even saving villains from going too far

**Spidey being humourous

These are the core tenets that every spiderman follows in general tbh , same In comics, BND made these tenets work well which resulted in good BO returns, also the previous hype of all spiderman films being good too

Same for all MCU movies like Civil War and Avengers

While ofc there are some duds like marvels and Multiverse of Madness, they are still doing good bcoz of now focusing on quality over quantity mentality , look at Thunderbolts and FF first steps

Main point is that they focused on character traits of their MC's , spiderman is well known among common audiences bcoz of this...

Now let's look at Batman vs Superman and DCEU , whose hype was off the roof pre-release

The first problem with snyder is he tried to deviate from comics or source material too much

like Batman being inspired from Dark knight returns , but make him like freaking punisher , killing and branding enemies ......

And make superman too stoic .... Which I partially understand what he was doing, but killing ur hero in his second debut is BS

Character deviation from comics is the main reason DCEU sucked

and WB going in panic mode to compete with MCU also led to downfall of DCEU

Even then........ the leaked concepts for JL2 and 3 from Snyder... had my eyes rolling tbh, like imagine these concepts being adapted

That would've destroyed Batman and Superman reputation(read them in internet search and you will understand) among common audiences .....ughhh.

Yes ......Doomsday will surpass Dune in BO by a large mile, but that doesn't mean Dune 3 will be bad 😕 😕
