Glock 23C 9MM Barrel

I’m considering getting a 23C Gen 3 from a friend of mine.

Was wondering if anyone knows if there’s a Glock 9mm ported barrel I could swap out and run in the 23. Would be neat.

I looked online but didn’t find much.

Handgun Courses in Hampton Roads

Now that I got you here… who’s selling suppressors with a 4473?

😂 I’m just joking

For real though, I’m looking for a good handgun class in the Hampton roads area. No indoor range stuff.

I need to learn how to shoot better

Thanks in advance for the recommendations

Thoughts on the Radian Ramjet

I’ll give some background. I’m not the best pistol shooter. Just recently got into red dots. I’ve always been ok with irons but the dot is undeniably better so i’m working on learning that. I had some fun money laying around and got a Radian Ramjet/Afterburner for the 19.

So a few days ago I took it to the range. I’ll be honest here, PERSONALLY, I don’t think it’s worth $400. Before everyone explodes and shits their pants… that’s just how I feel. Could it be that I’m not skilled enough to notice a difference? Sure! In competent hands it might make a world of difference. To me does it reduce recoil by the claimed 40% whatever percent? No.

What I read online was that if your fundamentals aren’t strong this won’t help you. “ You’d be better off buying a couple cases of ammo” I think that’s the truth.

Now.. I could see this being much more useful on my 43X. I might try one for that.

The comp is well built and functioned great in the couple hundred I put through it. Even with cheap ammo and factory RSA. I’ll probably end up selling it and getting a better optic and ammo.

TLDR; if you suck at shooting this won’t be a magical fix. Get ammo and range time instead. Just one man’s opinion.

Today’s EDC

Glock 19 Gen 6. Holosun 407C and a Ramjet. I plan on getting a TLR-7HLX soon but need a new holster for it.

I like this gun a lot but am considering getting something smaller for carry

First time with a red dot

Got this 19 Gen 6 last week. I’m very proficient with irons but I wanted to start moving to a red dot. Got the Holosun 407C and installed it (did it correctly, torqued to specs etc). Took it to the range and I was awful with it. Shot it between 7-10yds. Having poor luck. I sighted in in at home with a bore laser. I know this isn’t super accurate but it was to “get me on paper” so to speak.

The range master saw me struggling and offered to help. He also sighted in the range room with his bore sight. He then came out and put about 6 rounds through it and got it on target for me. It got a little better then.

Some takeaways from today;

I suck at shooting handguns. I shot about 275rds today. The targets in the picture are my last rounds. Grouping ok but still low. I think it’s me not the optic.

I need it practice my draw more. I can get the dot immediately about 75% of the time.

I still prefer irons. I think it’s a comfort thing. I ordered a case of ammo and I will try again in a few weeks.

Any advice? The temptation to go back to irons is real. I know it’s a cheaper dot but that’s all I can afford right now.

19.6

“Upgraded” from a police trade in 19.4 to this. I’m a huge fan of the of the grip and texture. Going to break it in this weekend. Have a Holosun 407C on the way. Now I’m just considering which light…

TLR-7 HLX or TLR-1? Will be a carry and HD piece

How’s this look?

Vivoactive 5. Got it for $125 open box special. I had to replace my Forerunner 965 that someone stole from my desk at work while it was charging… this is all I could afford right now.

How’s it look? Feels small coming from a 965. It’ll work until I can save up enough to get a 965 or something similar.

How bad is it?

How bad is this crack in your opinion? Will it affect function? Dropped it on the only tile floor in my whole house..:.

Skin pain with Wegovy

I was recently moved up to the high dose (7.2) Wegovy in the beginning of May. I took the first dose or two with zero symptoms. Around this time I started to experience some weird back pain. Nothing too bad but I noticed it when I ran and worked, I brushed it off as me being new to running and my body not being used to it.

Fast forward to my next box of Wegovy 7.2 and i am in pain. I’d say a week or so ago I started to get a weird sensation on my scalp. Not really pain but i felt discomfort when putting on my hard hat at work. I figured maybe I bumped my head working but I couldn’t remember doing it. My back was starting to get a little worse but again I just brushed it off.

Then I got a small upper respiratory infection last week or so and got some antibiotics to clear it. I thought I had some body aches from that. Zero fever at all. Now that’s cleared up and I’m in hell.

Putting on a shirt hurts, wearing my hard hat can be awful. Drying off after a shower is a slow and painful process.

Could this be Allodynia or Dysesthesia from Wegovy? Is it weird for it to show up so strong this late into me taking it?

The pain is so weird. It’s not a true muscle soreness. It’s like I’m sunburned and certain things are very painful. It’s from the top of my head down to the bottom of my back.

I thankfully got a last minute appointment with my PCP tomorrow. I hope she doesn’t think I’m acting crazy when I go to describe my symptoms.

Anyone else deal with this? If so, did you stop taking it and how long until your sensations stopped? If Wegovy is causing it I’d quit it and never take it again. This is hindering my daily life and my work.

Weird 7.2 Symptoms

I’m through my first month of the 7.2 dose and just started my second. At first it was all good. No issues. Didn’t work well for me but it’s better than nothing. Cravings still there but I deal with it and I planned on continuing to take it.

The past 2-3 weeks though I’ve been having weird symptoms I just realized may be cause of the Wegovy. My back is super sore feeling (not true muscle soreness, it’s hard to describe) and my scalp feels sensitive to the touch.

Come to find out it may be something called Dysesthesia. Anyone else have this side effect from the 7.2 dose? Upon further reading it’s much more common than with the 2.4 dose.

Is there anyway to mitigate this? I’d hate to come off it all together but it’s gotten pretty annoying and has been somewhat disruptive to me working out. I’m also more tired than normal despite exercising, a great diet and plenty of water.

I have my monthly appointment with my doctor soon so I’ll bring it up to her but for now I’m wondering what I should do

PSA Guardian or M&P Sport 3

Looking to get a new AR.

Stuck between the PSA Guardian or M&P Sport 3.

Price is almost the same.

Thoughts?

Will be for range and maybe HD use. Not a ton of rounds every year.

Fastest mile yet

Before I start I’d like to add a little back story. I know this is slow lol. Bear with me.

March of 2025 I weighed 350lbs. Was a lazy and overweight 31 year old. I realized my daughter (who was about to be born) might not have a dad if I kept at that pace. So I changed changed my life. Just with CICO/deficit walking and my physical job I’m down to 220lbs. Still want to get under 200 but now I can exercise more comfortably.

My wife is the reason I started running. She got into 5k,8k and 10ks. Even ran her first half marathon a few months postpartum! So I started about 2 weeks ago using a running program. I’ve been waking up at 3 on those days the schedule calls for a run and do exactly what it says. Run X amount and walk X amount.

Well today i was feeling good and wanted to run. So I said fuck it, I’ll see if I can do a mile straight. I did it. Well almost, I took a 30-40 second break for a cramp then kept rolling.

I know it’s not a good pace at all but I’m happy with myself. A year ago I wouldn’t have made it around the block. I felt great after this. I could have easily done another mile (at a slower pace) without a problem.

Back to the scheduled workouts this week, it’s a 5K training session and I don’t want to hurt myself or get burnt out. This was just for fun.

I’m actually beginning to enjoy this. My wife and I have a 5K on the 4th of July and my goal is to not walk any. We’ll see!

Upgrade form SE2?

I got a well used SE2 44MM about half a year ago. I only paid $80 for it so I’m not in deep. Screen and case are beat up pretty bad but battery life is showing 97%

I recently got more serious about daily running and cycling and would like to upgrade. I had a Garmin Forerunner 165 but to be honest I’m not THAT serious yet. There’s too much information for me in that system lol.

I was considering a couple of options;

Get a refurbished premium Ultra 1 from Amazon. Most have 99-100% battery life. With good reviews. Although the AWU1 is older.

I was also considering a series 10/11.

I primarily would like a larger display. Not sure if battery life is better between SE2 and AW 10-11. I know the Ultra is a step up

What would you do?

What do you think this noise is?

2016 Corolla S. 1.8L. 147K Miles.

This Josie started last week. It primarily happens when I take a turn but sometimes it will happen when I’m driving straight. Happens with or without brakes being applied. Seems to be from the drivers front wheel. It’s not consistent but has been getting worse I think.

I had my inspection in January where I was passed but told I needed pads/rotors on front axle soon and rear to follow (with front being priority). I just ordered pads and rotors to replace this weekend.

Could this be a brake issue even though it’s happening when I’m not pressing on the brakes?

Should I upgrade?

Just recently got into running more seriously. Got a Garmin Forerunner 165. I like it but I miss a lot of features of my Apple Watch SE (second gen). I’m also a new runner and it’s a lot of info and a lot I don’t really need.

My SE works alright for tracking runs and using Runna. But Amazon has refurbished Ultra 1 for $300

Would this upgrade be worth it? I really like the big screen size as well

What’s this noise?

2016 Corolla S. 147K miles.

Just steered making this noise during turns. Seems to be isolated to the drivers side front. It happens whether braking or not. I know the pads and rotors need to be replaced but not sure it’d cause this. It’s not constant but happens pretty often and primarily during right hand turns.

Testing it out

Needs a tune up and the brakes aren’t great. But besides that I really dig it! First time getting this style of bike.

During Covid I spent $1700 on a Trek mountain bike to fight some depression. Ended up having to sell it and never biked again after that. Recently started running and wanted a bike as an alternative for exercise on non running days.

So far so good. Going to take it for a few miles before work tomorrow morning

Anyone with these have any tips or ideas for cheap mods I can do?

u/Spare-Chicken-5382 — 3 months ago

Let it rip!

Got this dose last week. Took it last Saturday and only felt the effects for maybe a day.

I think maybe it just isn’t working for me anymore. I was on 2.4 for months with no progress. I’m going to continue to give this dosage an honest try. I’m not giving up yet but right now it’s not helping me much.

Anyone else have experience with this dose? I was expecting it to kick my ass being such a large step up but it definitely hasn’t.

My first Garmin watch!

Just started to run more and have been using an Apple Watch SE 3. It works decently but definitely isn’t geared towards just running/sports.

I’ve been training for my first race with my buddy who is a marathon runner. He loves Garmin and has 3 or so different models. He decided to give me his “old” Instinct 2.

I know it’s an older model but dang… I like this thing. The battery life is wild comping from an Apple Watch. My SE needed a daily charge if not twice a day.

Once I complete a few more races I think I’ll upgrade but for now this thing kicks ass.
