11th First Game - Night Skirmish

Today I played my first game of 11th edition. In the jungles of Armageddon, amidst the ruins a small Task Force of Night Lords Legionnaires assaulted a fortified position of some guardsmen. A small platoon of Cadian Troopers and section of Orc Hunters with their Tanks was reinforced with three Old Pattern Steel Legion Sentinels and an officer who coordinated the defense.

Despite her best efforts the post ha been overrun. Only a single Sentinel survived to tell the tale of heroic duels, how Commissars burned many of the foes with their plasma pistols, how Rhino and a Land Raider were wrecked, forcing the enemies to continue on foot.

He told the horror stories of what had become of the defenders later and how the Sentinel barely got away. Or maybe they let him get away?

Anyway, 93-34 and got my ass kicked and had a lot of fun. The “lore” is accurate to what took place. Always happy to share some pictures and narrative ;)

Steel Legion update

Hello. I’m sharing the latest work I have done with my Steel Legion. Recently I have added three Sentinels to my collection and now I’m working hard (and randomly) on some additional units. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish Command Squad, Heavy Weapons Squad, Recon Squad and another Guardsmen unit before the motivation is over :D

How you like the Recon, do they fit the SL well in your opinion?

Sentinel Squad

Hello. I wanted to share my old Sentinels I bought for 10th edition, back when they rolled in threes :D I personally love the old design so much much more than the new guard.

(All old designs seem better, but that’s a side note)

Mysterious Area Exploration - recommendations

Hello, solo-roleplaying friends! I’m looking for recommendations as mentioned in the topic: Mysterious land/area exploration RPG, ideally with map creation (I have never tried that!).

I have no such game in my library, and I’d love to. I’m aiming at something that resembles Pacific Drive or Dredge -
Both fantastic games, but for PC.

Thank you!

Operation Goodwood

Today we have played WW2 Normandy scenario based on operation Goodwood. Obviously we did not field three divisions per side, but some symbolic forces. The map was inspired by real life terrain at the time, with the road to Caen running from west to east, village placement and the Bourguébus Ridge.

Our scenario started with massive push of British forces on German controlled towns (the defender could set up his units however he liked. They always considered to be fortified). German player has decided to prepare a deep defense, using infantry and Pak 40 as first line and leave the 88mm cannons as backline defense on the ridge.

British forces steadily advanced town by town, taking fire from covered positions. The goal was to gain as much control as possible before 1st SS Panzerdivision counterattack that will happen on 3rd turn.

British have captured most towns by turn 5, but were annihilated in the middle loosing Grentheville and taking heavy losses in neighboring towns. In last effort to take back terrain a tank battle took place but once Sherman company was destroyed, the attack was considered failed.

With the only real Defence between Panzergranadier and Tiger Tank companies being one 17pdr, two 6pdr platoons and MG platoon, Cagny was also sure to fall eventually.

The only real gain was Cormelles east of Caen, blocking the main road to the city. Firefly VC company and Infantry platoon dug deep and have repelled enemy counter attack. Stuart Recce element have even harassed enemy infantry at the area.

The operation ended similarly as the real one, with no success. Fun game of Fistful of TOWs :)

First time painting 40k Orkz

Hi folks. I wanted to share my first ever 40k Orks. Most likely I won’t be playing 40k with them since I’m not a big fan of the current game, but most likely they will be use as a horde for a solo Wargame :)

Since those are done, it’s time to buy some more Armageddon ork boyz!

For the horde! (Or something, I’m new here 🙃)

How’s combat

Hello. I come from solo wargaming community, but I also love to RPG. I really wanted to do something for myself, maybe share it with the world if it’s any good. I was wondering how is combat dealt with in solo rpg? Maybe there is a study about it or you can tell me your favorite ways to play it out.

I experienced combat in solo wargaming in a form of algorithm for the enemies. It’s simple but requires a map. Well, let me know :)

First game of the Dark Angels

Hi there! I’m just shearing some photos from my first ever proper 40k game using only Firstborn Marines. Gotta play them while there are any units left :D Good thing Land Speeders are back

Dark Angels First Game

Hi. I started painting mid 10th edition and just now found time and strength to run my boys in green (and black, and bone). Took some time right?

I found Terminator Captain being weak as Fallen. His mighty blade not so mighty, his skill boring. Black Knights were fun when run, but I drove them in the center of enemy forces to duel Sammael vs Old One Eye. So let’s say it was worth it.

I desperately need some good AT. Devastators or Vindicator are my only options at the moment 🤔

I hope you like the photos and maybe sell me some ideas how to play good with only firstborn :)

First game of Fistful of TOWs

After a year in the miniature limbo I have painted some UK/Canada/PL and German units and convinced my buddy to give it a go. Very nice game, although we could have used a bit more terrain.

Fallen Brothers serve again!

Brothers, two mighty Veterans have returned to service after the long sleep. It ain’t much to brag about, but you must forgive me. Old Boxy Brothers are my favorite kind of units in the entire Universe ❤️

Commandos Army

Few days ago I asked you for some directions in regard of assembly and painting Commando force.

I was quick to act and used some models that I had and some new to assemble a crew of various commandos and their local resistance allies. This is a first step (big one) in this force painting.

As you can see there are multiple sets in she here: Wargames Atlantic Resistance and Commandos sets, Warlord old and new British & Inter-allied Commandos and some German bits here and there.

My inspiration for this project is a PS2 classic, Call of Duty 3. This was partial inspiration for the stolen German weapons in the hands of our brave commandos.

How do you like them so far?

New Old Sternguard Veterans

I know that sharing Sternguard Veterans is soooo 10th ed, and we’re past that but my Blade Task Force has been reinforced with five noble veterans. Clad in centuries or maybe even millennia old power armors, those fierce fighters wield only the best weapons that imperium provides.

SAS/Commandos Inspiration

Hello friends. I’m looking for inspiration for my Commando side project. At the moment I plan it to be a highly mobile force on light truck, stolen German cars and such.
I have some re-assembled old British soldiers, Wargames Atlantic Commandos and new Warlord Commandos. Lot of SMGs, some Bren and Vickers LMG. I’m also waiting for three 3d Printed Jeeps. Special weapons consist of 1/2 light mortars, 1/2 Piats, single sniper rifle.

I’d love to see your collections of commandos and recommendations :)

Share your Vanguard Veterans

Hello friends. This is Vanguard Veterans appreciation post. New boys are on the way so this is a great time to share our OG jump squads and maybe share some memories with them?

Mine were bought recently before they disappear from shops and will be part of my Firstborn only Dark Angels :) I did my best to give them some dynamic poses, just as I tried to do with my Assault Marines (but without cutting their legs to repose them).

I’d love to see your VVs :)

3mm Germans

So… encouraged by Little Wars TV I entered the world of small scale:

Now I’m in the process of making some more terrain and painting the allies and I can invite people to play a campaign :D
Normandy, here I come

Dark Angels Firstborn Only

Hello friends! I have been working on my army for some time, had a major break from 40k and no I’m back again at it. With the reveal of new Land Speeders I decided it is time to paint my trusty old Speeders and that give me motivation to finish some already started miniatures: five tactical marines and scouts.

Here are the photos of my guys at the moment, all together - later divided to show Deathwing, Greenwing and Ravenwing only.

How do you like those classic small marines? :D

Land Speeders are back

My friend sold his very well painted Land Speeders once 10th erased their datasheets. I care not for GW business trickery and bought two still packed Land Speeders out of love for my Firstborn marines and my Firstborn Dark Angels army I’m working on. Now, with 11th edition around the corner I can only say: Guys, we’re so back!

Painted my two speeders this week and hopefully soon on my table :D
