Surface Pro 8 with i3 and Iris Xe graphics?

Surface Pro 8 with i3 and Iris Xe graphics?

I bought a used Surface Pro 8 with the Core i3-1115G4, and everything online shows that the i3 model has Intel UHD graphics, except this Surface says it has Iris Xe graphics instead. I learned that it is a Surface Pro 8 for Business model, but the internet still says it should have Intel UHD graphics for the i3 model. Does anybody know why?

My orchid has looked like this for weeks, is this normal?

The buds started growing at the beginning of July, they started getting bigger through July and have looked the same for about 2 weeks. Is this normal or should I be concerned? It’s in bright indirect light and I water it 1x a week with 1/4th cup of water

Question - does anyone else have a really hard time taking off the green sticker when applying the G7 over patch?!

They make the green plastic sticky just like the over patch itself. Almost every single time I peel the green plastic off in either of the two corners, I have to spend 5 minutes trying not to make the over patch come off with it. Sometimes I mess up and the over patch gets ruined since I start peeling slowly and suddenly the over patch rips up. Is it just me or does this drive anyone else crazy?!

I added remote start to my 18’ Fusion Hybrid S for under $40

I have a 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid S (base model) that didn’t come with remote start. There was no button on the fob and it didn’t come with the ability to remote start via the Ford/Ford Pass app because it doesn’t have a telematics module.

Recently I read on another forum that all (or most) Fusions come with the hardware to remote start, but the option is disabled by default. I used FORScan to enable the remote start option, but because my key fob doesn’t have the button, I had no way to actually start it.

Most posts documenting how to “add” remote start showed a process where you replace the RTM antenna module to one that operates at 902Mhz, then you can buy an OEM 902Mhz remote with a remote start button. But you can add remote start without replacing the RTM module, instead you can buy an aftermarket key fob programmed to 315Mhz with a remote start button. It saves having to spend extra for an RTM module, and pulling part of the headliner down to install it.

Once I received the fob, I programmed it using FORScan, and the remote start function works perfectly. All in all it cost me under $40 and I didn’t need to replace any modules or take anything apart.

Here’s a link to the key fob I bought on AliExpress. I bought version ‘D’, the fob with remote start programmed at 315Hz.

18’ Hybrid gas mileage - normal? (info in post)

I bought an 18’ Fusion Hybrid S about a month ago with 49k miles. Clean Carfax, good maintenance history, very rarely driven by the previous owner (not sure if that’s a good thing or not).

I have a question about the gas mileage. As pictured, I’m getting 37.6 average. I reset the MPG when I bought it, and have watched it go from 42 down to 37. It’s fluctuated between low 37s to 38 but doesn’t change much from that.

I’m a very slow driver and I’m very easy on gas/braking. I probably only use the first 50% of the gas pedal at most, and my brake score is always between 90-99% (I’ve only seen it below 90 once). I’ve already adjusted my driving habits even more to stay in EV mode as much as possible (I think if I drove even more conservatively people would start flipping me off haha).

The problem is, my “commutes” are probably a cars worst nightmare lol. I work in IT and my job requires me to drive back and forth between multiple buildings in the same town each day. During the work week, all of my commutes are between 5-10 minutes (no highways) and I probably go back and forth between at least 3 buildings a day. Furthermore the town is incredibly hilly, so I’m constantly driving uphill. Even when I go downhill, there’s lots of lights that I usually hit. My apartment is also 5min away from my “main” building, so during the work week all of my commutes are short and only a few miles each.

I bought a hybrid specifically so I could get the best gas mileage considering my driving circumstances. Couldn’t go EV or PHEV because I live in an apt with no outlet. 37mpg is muuuch better than the 22 I was getting with my old gas car, but seeing people get 40+ I was hoping it’d be a little higher. Does 37 seem like a normal amount for more “severe” driving habits? Or could this potentially point to an issue like the hybrid battery needing to be replaced (since the car wasn’t driven often before I had it)?

Does my facial hair look unkempt/messy?

I’ve been told in the past to clean up my facial hair or that it looks messy. I don’t have any recent pics clean shaven unfortunately. Should I trim it more or shave it off completely?

2018 Hybrid S - Remote start?

I have a 2018 Hybrid S and I’m wondering if I’m able to set up remote start. My car has push to start, but it has no remote start button and my car has no features in the Ford app because it came with SYNC 1. I recently upgraded it to a new SYNC 3 system and I see the option for remote start in FORScan but I was wondering how I can get it to work? I know that in order to get it on the key fob, I need to get a new remote and also replace the antenna module (called the RTM I think?), but I was wondering if I’m somehow able to use the Ford app now that I have SYNC 3? Is this possible?

18’ Ford Fusion Hybrid upgrade from Sync 1 to 3 - Is there any way to get music info in right screen?

I have a 18’ Fusion Hybrid S which originally came with SYNC 1, but it has this style gauge cluster. The only info I can get in the right screen is MPG/Efficiency info. I upgraded the unit to SYNC 3 recently but I still don’t have any other menus in that screen and I was wondering if anyone knows if it’s possible to unlock the other screens as shown in the attached image. I was hoping something maybe in FORScan?

People with the G7 + Omnipod 5 combo, where do you place them so that it has signal?!?

Recently I was forced to switch from the G6 to the G7 due to the G6 no longer being manufactured, and I’ve had so many connection issues with the G7 that automated mode is basically useless. I used to wear my pump on my thigh and Dexcom on my arm, but if my pod was ever on the opposite thigh (for example pod on left thigh and sensor on right arm), it would guaranteed have really bad connection or no connection at all. Recently I’ve been putting my Dexcom on my thigh as well, and it works fine when the pump is right next to the sensor, but when I have to inevitably move my pod and I put it on my other thigh, my graph looks like the one pictured. They’re at most 10 inches from each other (I’m a skinny person) what gives????

I made a post here and received a few comments telling me it’s my fault because Dexcom states the pod/sensor should be between 1 to 3 inches from each other. How do you guys manage that?? The pump has to be changed every 3 days and I try not to keep using the same area of my body to prevent scarring. Also, I’d like to mention that the G6 was NEVER this horrendous and I’ve not had a single issue with connection. This feels like such a massive downgrade, I’d take the slightly larger size and 2hr warmup period FOR IT TO ACTUALLY WORK.

Sorry I’m getting heated now 🤣 anyways what do you guys do?? Any suggestions?

(Almost) 3 month update

Started out on 10mg in April. Really rough start, anxiety/depression worsened, nausea, sweating like crazy, generally felt awful. After a month my mood started improving but my anxiety was still really bad. I was told to stick it out but after 2 months my anxiety was still really bad. My Dr decided to up my dose to 15, this was about 1.5 weeks ago. Some notes:

- My anxiety is still not great. Some days are fine and some aren’t. I generally feel this jitteryness that doesn’t want to go away. Sometimes the anxiety is brought on by nothing, and sometimes there is a reason.
- My mood has improved immensely since before starting. Like I didn’t realize I could feel this way. It’s funny because sometimes I would get random bursts of happiness/good mood prior to the Lexapro that would last an hour max and go away. Now it feels that way all the time. I’m also more talkative I think and overall less irritable.
- The sweating suuuucks. I can live with it but it makes me feel gross. Before Lex I was the type of person to NEVER sweat, now I wake up drenched and anytime I go outside in the heat I feel like I need to take a shower.
- The “decreased libido” side effect is partially true for me. Sorry for TMI but I feel like I’m horny more often than I was before, the only difference is that it’s a lot harder to orgasm which kinda sucks.
- The most annoying side effect I’m experiencing is that I have so much trouble peeing. It’s like a hesitation where I need to go but it takes some time to come out. Sometimes I literally have to push or I’ll be in the bathroom for a few minutes waiting to pee. Anyone else experience this?

Just changed my lancet for the first time! I was diagnosed October 2018

At this rate, my box of lancets should last me my whole lifetime 🤣

EDIT: some people aren’t very happy with this post so I just want to be clear this post isn’t supposed to be a brag!! I am in no way encouraging this or trying to show off or something. I only use it a few times a year as a backup to my Dexcom and I genuinely forgot about changing it until I found my box of lancets. I’ll definitely change it more often from now on!

When I’m connected to my cars BT and select a song, YTM won’t queue up a mix.

Bought a new car with bluetooth and when my phone is connected and I choose a song to play, it will play the song and repeat the same song. When I go into the queue there are no other songs. This has only happened when connected to my cars bluetooth and it doesn’t always happen either, like 8 times out of 10. Anyone experienced this and know why?

2018 Hybrid, my (short) commute to work can be done entirely on EV

I don’t have the plug in hybrid, just the regular. My commute to work is short but I thought it was cool that I can do it entirely on EV miles without the engine kicking on.

My method to preventing leaky/loose pumps

Hey all, thought I’d share a method I recently discovered to prevent leaky/loose Omnipods. I’ve been having a lot of issues as of late, I wear my pods on my thighs and after about 2 days they start to leak pretty bad. People on this thread suggested I put a Tegaderm patch on first, then put the pod on top to prevent leakage, and that has really helped, but I still would experience leaky pumps. I’ve started to cut my Tegaderm patches in half, and I put the first half on my leg and put my pump on. Once it’s on, I take the second half and lay it over the top of the pump adhesive where the cannula is. It may sound pretty simple but having a patch under the pump and over the adhesive has seemed to help A LOT. I haven’t experienced any leakages yet since I started doing this and I thought I’d share if anyone else is going thru something similar!

Is this CarFax history strange for a 2018 w/ 48k miles?

2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid with 48k miles. No accidents reported and 1 owner. Rear shock absorbers, fuel filler door and hood latch replaced all before 50k miles? Does this stuff seem normal?

Left my AirPod in a hot car and now transparency mode doesn’t work

Yesterday I got in my car and forgot I had my left airpod in, I had already driven away and didn’t have the case so I left it in my cupholder and planned to put it back in my case when I arrived home. Unfortunately I forgot about it and it was in my car in the sun for about an hour. We had a heatwave and outside temps reached about 100F (37C). The inside of my car was easily much hotter. I took it out when I realized and let it cool off inside.

It’s been 24 hours and it seems as though transparency mode doesn’t work anymore. If I have just one AirPod in my ear, it sounds like noise cancelling is on. When I put both AirPods in and switch to transparency, the left AirPod still sounds like noise cancelling is on. When I actually turn noise cancelling on, everything sounds normal and there is no sound distortion.

I know this is my fault, but I’m hoping maybe there is something I can do to fix it. Any suggestions?
