From "Provinces équatoriales d'Abyssinie: expédition du Dédjaz comte N. de Leontieff". The outpost was established in 1899 by governor-general (dejazmach) Nikolay Leontiev, a Russian mercenary who led an Ethiopian expedition to Lake Turkana. Leontiev was dismissed in 1900 and Fort Menelik was quickly abandoned. Until 1907 Menelik and the British agreed to set the border further north, where it is now.

I really hope one day Paradox will revisit Ethiopia and maybe even release a flavor pack. There need to be

*new tags (for example Yejju, a powerful Oromo faction that actually controlled the Emperor, Begemder province and most of the empire in 1836)

* new provinces (Wollo in eastern Ethiopia as the power base for Yejju, Eritrea needs to be split in three provinces to accurately represent the power struggle between Egypt, Ethiopia and Italy)

* more mechanics for the "era of the princes" to depose and install puppet emperors and claim and distribute titles (dejazmach->ras->ras bitweded->negus->neguse negast)

* a simulation for the Ethiopian (and in general African) quest to import more and more modern firearms (arquebuses->muskets->rifles)

* the diplomatic option to ask European powers for military advisors and gun manufacturers

* cultural reforms like for example the adoption of Amharic as literary language and so on and so on.

Lots of potential to make the only African country that succesfully resisted Victorian colonialism more interesting. Of course that DLC could also cover other Ethiopian factions outside the Ethiopian Empire, like for example Kaffa or Harar, while also providing more flavor for Egypt and its attempt to build an African empire.
