Opinions on Spa/LMTs in the area

I live in C’burg, but this sub is bigger, and some of these potential places are in B’burg anyway.

I am looking to get something booked for my GF for her birthday in a few weeks.

She’s overly stressed out, etc. and I thought like a massage/whatever happens at a spa would be something cool to get her.

I don’t know dick about this kind of thing, and I can’t tell what places are good for this (most of these spots have 5 or 4.9 stars on Google).

There’s a couple places like Pink Crush or Allure Aesthetics in Blacksburg.

There’s this place in Radford called The Whole You.

C’burg has Mindful Touch (I considered Oasis, but I don’t know wtf a “Head Spa” means and I think full body might be of more use).

There’s even a couple places in Floyd, but I don’t really want her to have to drive that far for this.

Anyhow, can someone help out a clueless dude on this? I’ve only ever gotten her physical-type gifts, never a service-oriented one.

So, like, I needed a room tonight (personal reasons, you might can guess) and couldn’t stay at my own home. Every single ass place refused to let me get a hotel room because I live within 50 miles (there’re places close and then reaaaaallly far away, nothing within 50 miles precisely).

Is this some sort of Virginia law or something? It didn’t matter if I flashed the AMEX, offered to agree to extra deposit, and I’m 45, not exactly a party-goer or whatever, and I’m not a John trying to get a trick turned.

Does anyone know what gives?

edit: thanks for most of your input there. I think it’s because Tech is in the vicinity (I’m in Montgomery County) that’s why they have these weird ass policies.

And for people thinking I weirded them out or something: I never saw these people. I spoke with them over the phone. I called these places first because my GF told me that was some policy here. She tried to book a room closer to NRV Hospital when I had back surgery, and couldn’t.

I dunno. I think it’s weird that businesses don’t want customers and can’t tell a legitimate person vs a potential party/crime hazard. I have nice clothes, I drive a good vehicle, I have payment methods known to have high credit lines.

It just doesn’t make sense.

Bird is a dumpster cat we rescued who turned out to be a beautiful kitty with the attitude of a supermodel. She is always tired of your bullshit.
