So, someone posts a comment, and because of what they wrote, the iOS Reddit app won’t show that comment.

It will show there’s a reply, but if you tap on it, it just expands to nothing and the “1 reply” thing disappears.

I don’t have any settings like NSFW off or anything like that. Is there a way to force the app to show these comments anyway?

So I just got DTV Stream after having had satellite for a long time.

The programming the remote for my TV is tripping me up. It says it can’t find my TV manufacturer. It’s an Insignia. This is a pretty well known Best Buy in house brand. How does the search not pick this up? I know they’re manufactured by other companies and they just slap on the branding, but every other universal remote I’ve ever bought has Insignia on their list.

Is there a guide somewhere for manually programming the remote like the old satellite remotes?

Edit: I should state that I’ve tried the manual selection option through the Gemini Air settings. Searching Insignia shows no results. Pic below in the comments.

So, my never ending quest to find new people to do business with in this new area now leads me to finding a decent mechanic who won’t rob me. Preferably someone with a lot of Toyota experience.

I especially need to get brake work done on my 4Runner, and although I’m not a dummy when it comes to automotive stuff, I have neither the tools, the level ground to do it on, or the physical ability anymore.

I tend to find dealership shops are the worst offenders on the rip off front, but if anyone has good news about the local Toyota dealership shop, I’m all ears too.

In any case, my GF also has a Rav4 and she would be happy to slide whatever mechanical needs she has for her vehicle that way too when the time comes.

I was perusing the batting stats for NL 3rd basemen in 2026 thus far, and Gonzo has the top BA, has at least 25 more hits than anyone on ESPN’s 3rd basemen rankings (which are decidedly meaningless, given ESPN of late). Comparable RBI, Better OBP, and a host of other metrics.

The only things I see him lagging in are HRs and drawing walks (although he’s hitting at a better clip, so who needs walks? Clearly his OBP isn’t suffering for it.)

The only thing this really tells me is that the All Star Game is dumb and completely out of step with furnishing us the best players to compete in the Summer Classic.

Why don’t we just have a skills competition like the NFL does and be done with it. Unbelievable how Gonzo is getting shafted.

Edit: I can’t believe there are people downvoting the suggestion that Nick Gonzales should be on the AS team and that the current system is complete garbage.

I recently moved to Forest and our house got pretty overgrown between closing (there was snow) and yesterday. There’s not much grass to speak of, it’s heavily treed and most of what’s on the property would seem like it needed to be weed wacked rather than mowed.
But there’s quite a bit of it. The lot is just under half an acre, so with the home, I guess like a quarter acre to be handled. I am temporarily disabled and can’t get it done myself.

Right now looking for any recommendations, I don’t need the greatest, full service type of job. Just make it look normal. This may be a regular gig if the rate is cool. I have pics available for the a quote.

In Christiansburg, but this sub is far more active.

I am moving out of the area for another part of VA and we have to toss a lot of stuff. Some of this stuff may be things that are salvageable, possibly some furniture. Some of it is actually trash that needs to go to a landfill or something and C’burg garbage pickup won’t accommodate.

Can anyone recommend someone for a one-time bulk pickup of various items? I don’t want to necessarily have to order one of those dumpsters from Waste Management or something that they come pick up. Would rather throw my business to someone locally.

I am going to be meeting my brother for a game next weekend vs MIA, and it’s been a long time since I’ve been to PNC and never sat there, but, do the seats in Section 235 have backs to them? Google says only 133-138 have no backs to them, but I don’t really trust AI answers.

I have severe back issues and can’t physically take bleacher seats, so I’m gauging if I need to get seats elsewhere or if these are ok for my purposes.

edit: I see there are bleacher backs, but I posted a stadium seat below so I can manage to sit there, can anyone tell me if that would get denied entry? The PNC rules are kind of nebulous.

Saw someone link this sub based on my state recently banning 7-OH coming up.

Personally, I’ve never tried it. But reading your stories reminds me of the years of banging dope into my arm after I had a back surgery and got hooked on PKs, which kicked off a 15 year run for everything.

My thoughts go out to you. I would always recommend recovery. It’s a lot better than being a slave. You are not a bad person bc you suffer from the disease of addiction. If you pick a 12-step like I did, you don’t have to buy into every little thing. NA told me to take what I needed and leave the rest. There are other ways to recover as well. I’m not an NA or 12-step Nazi. That’s just what worked for me. Others it doesn’t.

I’m generally not in the habit of applauding things being made illegal, and I don’t agree with it for the Kratom leaf for adults. But this 7-OH stuff seems actually dangerous. Or needs to be restricted to Rx status or something.

Keep up the hard work. Detox sucks, but it’s not forever, and if you can walk through that, you can walk through anything.

I live in C’burg, but this sub is bigger, and some of these potential places are in B’burg anyway.

C’burg has Mindful Touch (I considered Oasis, but I don’t know wtf a “Head Spa” means and I think full body might be of more use).

There’s even a couple places in Floyd, but I don’t really want her to have to drive that far for this.

So, like, I needed a room tonight (personal reasons, you might can guess) and couldn’t stay at my own home. Every single ass place refused to let me get a hotel room because I live within 50 miles (there’re places close and then reaaaaallly far away, nothing within 50 miles precisely).

Is this some sort of Virginia law or something? It didn’t matter if I flashed the AMEX, offered to agree to extra deposit, and I’m 45, not exactly a party-goer or whatever, and I’m not a John trying to get a trick turned.

Does anyone know what gives?

edit: thanks for most of your input there. I think it’s because Tech is in the vicinity (I’m in Montgomery County) that’s why they have these weird ass policies.

And for people thinking I weirded them out or something: I never saw these people. I spoke with them over the phone. I called these places first because my GF told me that was some policy here. She tried to book a room closer to NRV Hospital when I had back surgery, and couldn’t.

I dunno. I think it’s weird that businesses don’t want customers and can’t tell a legitimate person vs a potential party/crime hazard. I have nice clothes, I drive a good vehicle, I have payment methods known to have high credit lines.

It just doesn’t make sense.
