Yesterday I had the opportunity to tour Trifecta Farms’ grow with Nate. It was great getting to see their operation firsthand and learning more about their approach to cultivation.

One thing that stood out was their emphasis on keeping things simple. Nate explained that when they constructed the facility, they made sure the grow rooms could be easily broken down and thoroughly cleaned. I got to see one of the rooms just after harvest, and it was interesting to see how much thought went into making the space practical to maintain. I really appreciate that approach. I also got to see a couple flower rooms in different stages of flowering. Absolutely stunning!

I got some Lemon Fresh from Pioneer Cannabis to try, and it really impressed me.

Appearance: 8/10
A variety of greens with bright, burnt pastel-orange hairs, some darker than others. Nice contrast throughout the buds with plenty of visible trichome coverage.

Aroma: 10/10
Heavy terpinolene character with a slightly piney edge. Reminds me of Lemon Pledge with a little Pine-Sol mixed in. Sharp, citrusy, and incredibly pungent.

Freshness: 10/10
Super sticky buds with a satisfying squish when squeezed. Plenty of give without feeling dry or brittle. Really impressed with the freshness.

Flavor: 10/10
This was the biggest surprise for me. Given the aroma, I was worried the flavor would be dominated by terpinolene. Instead, it’s much more reminiscent of lemonade, with a bright lemony character and some zestiness that’s difficult to pinpoint.

I also chewed on a stem and got something reminiscent of the hop burn from a fresh hoppy NE IPA. An interesting little observation separate from the vapor flavor.

Effects: 9/10
Buzzy, energetic, and almost high-frequency in its effects. There’s a noticeable intensity to this one. Careful if you consume too much, because it can get pretty lively!

Final Thoughts

9.4/10. Lemon Fresh really delivers. The contrast between the sharp, terpinolene-heavy aroma and the lemonade-forward flavor was particularly impressive. Excellent freshness and some distinctive effects round out the experience.

It was a pleasure getting to see Trifecta’s operation firsthand, and I appreciate the thought they’ve put into keeping their cultivation practices straightforward and their facility manageable to maintain.

High Ledges has really dialed in recently.

This blue dream is a pretty unique phenotype. Certainly not that typical blue dream you think of. This one is stoney, and smells like berries and a tid bit like trop. There’s a zesty lemon/citrus in there too, as mentioned. Buds soft, well cured, compacts nicely when ground up.

Trifecta has been doing their thing. This stuff is coated with sappy trichomes. Coolio smells like orange and has zesty aromas but looks a lot like the cap junky it’s got in its heredity. Insides of the nugs look amber and ripe. Well done guys. Super fresh pickup too.

Some old school genetics, IFYKYK.

A couple of you I know need to try this. This one’s got the old school kush. Way different than east coast Irene, but T3 please keep growing these old school ones. We love them!

I also got the maple butter. Excited to try that one as well. No price breaks (smart play I suppose) so I only got an 8th of each.

Tree House managed to create a DIPA that smells like fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, and tastes like that grapefruit juice was blended with hops. Delicious beer! At 8.7% my wife will be driving us to Costco where I will crush a hot dog and then buy whatever we need there.

Mini Machine is fantastic. It’s a crushable Juice Machine.

Big juicy hop flavor. Delicious

Brisket, ribs, pulled pork, mac and cheese, sexy grits, corn bread. This is about as good as it gets in my home state unless you do it yourself.

These taste delightful, the smokey flavor comes through perfectly.

Wife and I had some straight from the can, then I tried it on the sourdough. I bet a OLT (Oyster Lettuce Tomato Mayo) sandwich would be incredible. Heck, throw some bacon and onions and make it a BLOOT.

Just sayin’ if you can try em, do so.

They’ve been on the hype train for a minute, but damn this is good. Probably closest to an authentic Philly in Greater Boston.

4 lbs cooked just under an hour with baking powder and spices.

Some Cabot cheddar, grilled red onion covered in burger dripping, grillos pickles, Tender Belly no Sugar Bacon (accidentally got this instead of the signature), mayo ketchup, yelp mustard. Calise Italian potato roll grilled on the stove.

Meats Whole Foods 15/85 100% grass fed. I made some Costco wagyu 25/75 as well, but these were what I had to make the last burger.

I saw the height and giggled. I’m a wider not taller fella myself, but couldn’t help share this tower.

Double smoke shack with onions, crispy onions, pickle, tomato.

This is from a 40 year old institution staple in Watertown MA that’s closing this October.

Get em while you can. Best roast beef sandwich I’ve ever had. I promise you it’s worth experiencing once in your life. A nice 73 year old man makes each sandwich carefully, asks if you want it there or to go.

Saw this small bag checking out from a late night pit stop. Tickles a bit as far as heat goes, and the dill pickle vinegar is pronounced, but not overwhelming to me. Has some sweetness presumably from the corn, and it’s super subtle.

Could use some paprika for color. Pretty solid snack tho.

I’d imagine this is a polarizing flavor for those of us who don’t like pickle flavor in chips.
