What is the best salad component in a kebab?

For me it is the raw onion, the best salad component in a kebab.

Pickled chillis are decent too but they seem to be a bit of a dying breed round my way

Red cabbage the worst. Makes everything too soggy

I don't exactly dawdle while cooking dinner but

30mins kitchen workout logged.

I'm either more out of shape than I thought or the app is wonky.

Testicles still tender

It's been about 2 months since by bilateral robotic repair and my nuts are still tender. A lot less tender and not swollen anymore, but still noticeable if I accidently touch/hit them wrong or my dog jumps up at me

Just wanting to see if this was normal and if anyone knows how long this takes to get normal again

Dad's Finances - what do you suggest?

So, as the title suggests, this isn't for me, this is for my Dad.

He's retired, mortgage (on a house he paid about 5k for and it's now worth about 700k) paid off.

Me and my sister think he has early Dementia signs so we got an appointment with a solicitor to figure things out (was supposed to be today, but got moved to Monday last minute)

We (sister and I) were going through his paperwork and as well as the house, he has about 6-700k saved up in various pots (some, probably most, of that coming from my mum who died a few years ago)

About 500k of this is in a number of nationwide accounts (I questioned if this was sensible considering the 120k fcs limit). He did say he was going to go to the bank too figure it the best way of sorting this big amount out, and obviously nationwide just sold him a load of their own products 😅

The rest is in random ISAs, savings accounts, premium bonds and shares.

He's earning about 13k a year purely on the interest of all this, plus a full state pension, plus a small private pension, plus a teachers pension.... I.e. he has more money than he knows what to do with (expensive holidays was a thought but we have just talked him out of a trip because we're worried about his memory as mentioned previously)

I feel like the majority of this money could be better, and more safely if taking the fcs protection into account, managed while he's still with us.

But I don't know how. There's isas obviously but that's limited to 20k a year.

Help

3rd Japan Trip - Kyushu

Hi, hopefully this is allowed here, I was banned from a certain other subreddit just for posting it 🤔

I'm at the very early stages of planning another return to this country I've fallen in love with.

1st trip golden route and bits in between (10.5 years ago)

2nd trip (October '25) - retreading some of my route last time with brand new bits in between + okinawa)

3rd trip I want to spend more time in tokyo rather than it being the bookends of my trip because I absolutely love it there (not shibuya, or shinjuku etc so much as the dozens of cool surrounding suburbs). BUT, I also want to spend the first week or so travelling around Kyushu. I'll definitely be renting a car for most of it, but will probably start this from Nagasaki, as the bits I want to do inbetween Fukuoka and Nagasaki look doable on trains/local bus, then returning the car to Fukuoka (hopefully this is doable?).

Anyway, here is my very very early, literally just done it, itinerary. Feedback encouraged please and any recommendations of stuff to see on my way.

I'm travelling solo so all my time is my own. My only real question other than itinerary is if I need to book accomodation along the way or 1) sleep in car? 2) sleep semi in car but the occassional hotel to freshen up? 3) just show up and book each day depending on where i end up.

A bit anxious about parking too

Trip will probably be sometime in Feb/March next year

Day 1 - Arrive Fukuoka - (Mt Sarakura Observation deck)

Day 2 - Fukuoka - (Day Trip to Sakurai Shrine)

Day 3 - Fukuoka to Sesebo (Okawachiyama Village)

Day 4 - Sesebo - Nagasaki (Explore Nagasaki)

Day 5 - Nagasaki to Kumamoto (rent car Nagasaki) - (Tachibana Bay, Kuratake Shrine)

Day 6 - Kumamoto to Miyazaki (Udo Shrine, Explore Miyazaki)

Day 7 - Miyazaki to Mt Aso (Takachiho Gorge AM, Mt Aso explore rest of day)

Day 8 - Mt Aso to Beppu (Beppu explore)

Day 9 - Beppu back to Fukuoka, drop car, train to Tokyo (yes I know flying would probably be cheaper and quicker but I love riding the shinkansen especially long distance)

Do you actually use the s-pen?

I messed about with mine when I first got the phone but most of the time I forget it's even there.

If you use it frequently or occasionally, what do you use it for?

I assume I come back here?

I am sorry, I too am sick of the "how do I get to this bit" posts and think "just wait until you progress a bit more"

But I feel like I'm missing something here and don't want to leave until I've figure it out

Longines service

Is the official in house one worth it?

Mine needs a bit of tlc: polish, new battery, new link, clean etc

Or will an authorised local place do the same job for less? Wary of sending off something expensive by mail.

10k Return Milestone

It's been hovering just below the 10k mark for a while and now it's finally happened.

Full disclosure, had a fair whack of inheritance come my way when my mum died, had it sitting in cash savings for a couple of years before the interest rates plummeted, then I decided to change to s&s and I wish I'd done it sooner. Still have £12k allowance to put into my ISA this tax year.

Best place to sell bike currently?

So I bought a bike on the cycle to work scheme, funnily enough with the intention of cycling to work.

However, this was literally weeks before COVID hit and then there was no commuting for about 2 years.

Needless to say the bike, which is decent and was pretty expensive (£2k cube mountain bike) has now been sat in my cellar gathering dust ever since (other than a few quick test rides)

I think I'd rather just get rid of it now and get some money back (it's paid off).

What's the best way of selling bikes these days, and what's depreciation like for bikes? I.e. what should I be asking for/expecting value wise?

Family Group can my nephew join?

My nephew has a switch, he uses a child account registered to his dad's email so I presume he is in his dad's family group

I have a NSO family subscription. Can my nephew join it?

Testicle swelling - bilateral inguinal

Just wondering if anyone experienced swelling of the testicles after an inguinal op and how long it took to subside?

I was warned it would happen, and they were a bit swollen for a bit and bruised but one of them is now causing a bit of discomfort and feels...odd. it's been about 2.5 weeks since my surgery.

UK online order returns address

Did anyone know what this is? I've cancelled my online order of world cup sticker tins due to discovering the shocking quality of the stickers when I picked up a few loose packs from a local shop

I've emailed them to cancel after delivery as requested in their ts and cs but there is no return address listed.

The return address on the parcel is for a logistics company

Please help, I'm losing the will to live

For years, I have been able to view my laptop media on VLC on my firestick my clicking on the upnp version.

For some reason, a few weeks ago, this option disappeared, and my firestick is no longer discoverable on laptop media sharing settings. I did change modem/router recently but checked and upnp is enabled on this.

I'm trying to connect via smb and have read about 1 million Reddit threads all offering different advice but nothing works.

Can someone please tell me exactly what I need to enter on this screen.

Robotic repair of bilateral inguinal and I am currently dying for a poop.. but any amount of trying to push one out is killing me.
