Friendships and boundaries

I made 2 friends some time ago and after hanging out with them i now realise they are not my type like neither their personality (extroversion/introversion) nor their mindset or their hobbies match mine so its a bit draining for me now to always adjust to their world while they choose not even to step into mine.

The friendship this way feels only one sided to me and not fun for me though they both are not too bad as a person but just not my type of people.

I have been slowly trying to put distance between us to slowly fade away without making it too obvious. So i regularly started making excuses for their plans. Recently i have been making way more excuses back to back hoping that they somehow get the point and back off. (I mean, dont any mindful person does that? Like if you call/invite someone 3-4 times and get rejected you simply backoff or go find another friend?)

But nah they have become to persistent in calling me that now i feel so bad for them (not for myself) because i am trying to keep my boundaries while they lack the basic emotional intelligence to understand this simple thing and keep on embarrassing us all from time to time.

I mean i never stop them both to meet each other. Why are they so adamant for me to be part of the meet up too. I am being polite enough to just make excuses and fade myself out of this situation but they are being so persistent.

Meeting them has always felt like a chore than a refreshing friends outing so i no more have energy for this type of dynamic. I don’t want to sound rude or say such things on their faces but they are honestly now forcing me into that ugly conversation.

They have so far asked me 15 times and i have turned down them 15 times (recently i made more excuses than before because my health isn’t good to socialise but i dont want to tell them this reason due to personal reasons so i have to keep making excuses) idk what kind of sanity they have that they don’t even care about their own self respect.

I cant tell them i am out of the city etc or anything because they fucking live next door. Its so lucky of me that i almost never run into them.

Its now infuriating and i am honestly this close to being straight forward with them because easy signals are clearly not understandable to them.

I hate the fact that they even try to guilt trip me into meeting them.

I mean broooo you cant force someone to meet you. We all have free will and we choose to do whatever we want so this shitt. If someone is ignoring you just deal with the fact instead of pressuring them into giving you their time.

Isn’t friendship a two way street? Why force it out of someone when they dont want to? If i would have genie wanted to meet i wouldn’t even be waiting for their msg I would have already asked them to meet!

WTF MAN!

Highly intoverted

Hey i am highly introverted and also struggling some anxiety issues so my social capacity is almost zero

while the outings and social situations never seize to present themselves its always happening like after every 4-8 days i would be asked to hangout and my parents are the ones who ask me this

Now its getting sooooooooo freaking difficult for me to everytime turn them and they start scolding me and pls dont get me started on talking it out j have tried it multiple times but they dont understand my health issues they think going out will fix my anxiety but in fact it increases it

The anxiety issues temporary due to some health issue which j am actively trying to fix but it is a tough job so it is taking a bit of a time and in the meantime i want things to just wait a bit but explaining this to my parents is of no use they have their own thinking and they simply think they are always right and that sitting at home is the real culprit

Its gotten so difficult for me now that idk what to do. I am also fed up but j am forcing patience in me

I don’t tell them to not go anywhere without i simply just say i cant because it brings me more anxiety which gets me on the edge honestly so it isn’t something like stepping out of the comfort zone its almost like hanging on cliff situation for me because of this anxiety

I have tried anxiety meds but they don’t help. Why? Because my anxiety is triggered by sluggish digestive system and intense bloating so the treatment lies in getting the digestion on track which is taking some time because it requires me to focus on my fiber, my hydration, my post meal walks, my upright posture. I actually spend almost 80% of the day reclined using phone and usually soon after eating i get reclined which ultimately ends up making me feels bloated after 1-2 hours of eating and then i start feeling restless and anxious because of this. The issue sounds very easy to deal with but it isn’t that easy as my digestive system is slowed due to a 10 years of sedentary lifestyle. So reversing it is a task in its own. I am being lightly active now since about 3 whole months.

Is this normal?

Hi so i am a female muslim.
I have a friend who also is female but i notice that her talking style is very different like she flirts quite often. She calls me her best friend but is this how best friends are like? Is this normal?

  1. She often call me janu
  2. She uses lovey dovey emojis on our chats
  3. She teases me alot and also flirts alot
  4. I remember when we were young (because she is my childhood friend) she once hugged me all of a sudden in the middle of a convo which i was having with another friend of ours and she said to me that ‘tumpe pyar arha hai’ and she kept hugging me from behind for few minutes

I now dont meet her because i have moved away to a new place though we talk on chat but i dont understand her. Is this normal? She consider me her best friend right? Like i do?? Or her intentions are something else?? She isn’t an evil person obv but just to make myself clear about this situation i wanted to know the opinion!

Frustrated because of this rishta encounter.

I am a Female. And I hate the thing that my father talks too much when any rishta people come over for the first time. Because he has a habit of talking too much he often sometimes talks non sense things also. And when he talks so much everyone’s attention naturally goes towards him. Which in turn doesn’t leave enough time for the guy to even look at me. All the time he keeps talking to him with eye contact that he probably doesn’t even get enough moment to look at me.

I feel like a stupid bystander sitting for a formality. Recently 2-3 rishta people came and i noticed one thing that the guy didn’t even got the chance to even look at me because for whole 1 hour i never once caught him looking at me!

Also recently one rishta people came and then azan came my dad literally took the guy to the masjid. Now i was left to just look at the guys nani and when he came back his sister kept non stop talking to me without giving me enough time to actually look at him. And then when they went away and my mom asked me if i liked the guy i said: i didn’t even look at him, mom. I can’t say anything.

Now i can understand what the guys must also be feeling the same thing when my father keeps their attention on himself.

Also my dad talks mostly on irrelevant topics like his own job etc and doesn’t talk much about me and our family. So basically i always feel that i am never the centre of attention and it feels so frustrating to be sitting there like a fool.

Recently the rishta people that came there was literally just 20-30% actual rishta related talks while the 70-80% talk was irrelevant general topics.

My mom is thankfully emotionally intelligent and talks less and only talks sensible things. And rather than rambling things to strangers or even showing off she asks important questions and reveals only necessary enough info and what we are being asked only. I also sit quietly and talk only when someone asks a question.

Frustrated!

I am a 27 F. And recently my mom has become hyperactive on finding a rishta for me. She was active since a couple of years but recently she is hyperactive like literally she’s joined multiple groups on WhatsApp and looks for rishtas on them literally DAILY!

Daily she discusses this topic! And its frustrating me so much now. Because mentally I feel fed up already and i dont want anything else on plate for a couple of months at least.

Its not like i don’t want to marry I just don’t want to go in front of rishta people these days as I have some health issue right now particularly anxiety which makes social situations very daunting so I dont want these situations I tried telling my mom but she didn’t give a fuck about it and she is like become much more active in her hunt of rishta as much as i told her to slow down!! And its annoying!

She just thinks my age is now overage.

Ps. I did a see a doc for my anxiety he said its because of sedentary lifestyle. So i have recently started working out it helps but very briefly and its probably going to take a couple of months to give full benefits

What were your symptoms of sedentary lifestyle?

Hey guys whoever is sedentary from long term especially doing only less than 5k steps per day how much steps you think you naturally achieve while you were sedentary?

How long you stayed sedentary?

What were your symptoms?

What you did to get out of that lifestyle? And how long it took you to noticeably feel better?

I actually am looking for motivation to move more and change my lifestyle and my lifestyle is long term sedentary which is affecting my mental health gut health and social life to a great extent but from few weeks i have been achieving 5-6k steps daily though i see results they are very slow as i started moving right at the time of peak summer time in my city where typically high feels like temperature reach 37-41 C for May and June. I feel like i see benefits but symptoms are improving at a crawl speed.

Which online store is best?

Hey which online store is best to buy books?

  1. Bookseve
  2. Orderondoor
  3. Studentstore
  4. Any other

I bought once from Bookseve but i think their cover paper is quite low and the font size is very small. The paper quality is great though. The print is also amazing just the font size too small.

How has reading changed you?

Hi so this question has always been on my mind. The true reason I felt pulled towards reading was only partly because I wanted an escape sometimes but partly because I wanted to develop my personality too.

I used to observe people around me who were readers, they used to be so intellectual and intelligent. I noticed they were much more creative and full of amazing ideas. I wanted to be like that so I started reading.

What kind of change did you notice in yourself after you started reading?

How to go from sedentary to active/fit

Hey guys, I’m a 27F and I’ve been pretty sedentary for the past 4–5 years. My average daily step count has probably been around 2500-3000!

Over the last few years, I’ve noticed a gradual increase in symptoms like slow digestion, bloating, lethargy, low appetite, brain fog, muscle weakness (especially in my arms and legs), and low motivation/interest in doing things. My mental health has also been affected — I deal with anxiety, sometimes feel mildly depressed, and my social life has suffered because I often don’t feel like going out or meeting people anymore.

I’m honestly tired of living like this and want to become active and fit again. But I also know that suddenly jumping into intense workouts or walking too much right away could backfire, so I want to take things step by step.

For people who successfully came out of a sedentary lifestyle:
- How did you start?
- What step goal did you begin with?
- How often did you increase it?
- What strategies helped you stay consistent?
- And how long did it take before you noticed improvements in your energy, mood, digestion, motivation, etc.?

Would really appreciate hearing your experiences.
