What happens if I open this on an unmodded 3DS?

Will it get bricked, or will it just not open? I got it via streetpass and there's the same "open software" option most games have.

Is this a scam?

I should add a bit of context to this as well. This is an artist that I interact with sometimes (though I wouldn't entirely consider us "friends" we would talk to each other sometimes, and we share an interest in a character from a video game), but I've never DM'ed them before. They haven't posted since late June, and from what I could find, haven't replied to any posts since June either. They said they had bots on their account as well. But I can't find any scams similar to this, and again, we do know each other to an extent.
