Just starting my rewatch from the very beginning
and thoroughly enjoying it but just remembered I have to grit my teeth through the Vanessa storylines - not sure if I’ll make it 😭

we need to have a fairly frugal year and I wondered about wether it’s worth prioritising “health foods” or just leave them fot a year and makeup with cheap veggies? eg adding chia seeds, pumpkin seeds etc to porridge vs just topping with raisins and banana.
thats just one example but you get the idea. they really increase the cost of the weekly shop so wondering wether to just trust that “basic” food is healthy enough or wether to spend a little more and aim to be healthier.
what are people’s perspectives please
is anyone else really triggered by chaotic behaviour?
1&5 year old.
I’m finding I really react when my newly 5 year old touches me in random ways eg yanks my arm when holding hands, cuddles from behind that end up pressing on my throat etc she’s very sweet and I love physical affection like cuddles and hair brushing but random stuff really makes me flinch and push her away / snap at her
what is this?! why can’t I react calmly/accept it. she’s so well meaning
Im shocking at being easy going. I have 2 children (1&5) so a lot of flexibility with plans is needed. my lack of patience and easy- goingness just makes me irritable and ruins my enjoyment of time with my family. such mum guilt
i want to be relaxed! but my irritability when someone suggests we “pop in to xyz” when in my head we’re going straight home.
maybe mindfulness / being in the moment so not thinking about what’s next?
I’m mid thirties and have always had mild mental health issues (anxiety and depression) which I manage but they’re there. I also got post partum rage so I think my emotions will take quite a beating when my hormones shift.
how can I prep for peri? weights? meditation? nothing really? I really don’t want my hormone to affect my relationships with my partner and children like my PPD did (from my perception) and the guilt that came with that.
id love to sail through peri and meno but i can sense i wont be a lucky one!
me and my partner both grew up with fairly emotionally unavailable parents and we mostly did our own thing.
i have a 1 and 5 year old. what are habits for encouraging a close-knit family? dinners together? games? movie nights?
just little things that someone who didn’t grow up in such an environment might not think about. thank you! determined to change for my kids :)
Gio is SO immature and unprofessional when he shows round the po*n star - I cringed everytime he joked
I’m no Alex Hall fan why is no-one getting how much Tyler screwed her over?! Polly is such a pick-me and they’re clearly frenemies as opposed to real friends.
my tret should arrive 2 weeks before a beach vacation.
is it best to wait until after to start using for the first time ever?
conscious of sun & pools… although pools are freshwater so no chlorine…
My toddler just over 1 is going through a very aggy phase so most of the time we’re just trying not to set her off.
how do you manage your older children not knowing their triggers / being able to sense their moods as much?
if your older children are interacting with your toddler in a normal way but you know it will set them off - do you stop them or just let family life carry on round the toddler and deal with it?
my daughter 5 is always so keen to play with her younger sister, but she’ll often interrupt an activity when I can sense the toddler wants to be left alone, or try and hug her etc.
I get so overwhelmed with my toddler screaming and climbing on me when she’s annoyed but I can hear myself constantly telling my oldest what to do and it’s driving me nuts lol
slight Hannah Horvath vibes. could totally see her being a character in Girls.
I'm not sure where I stand on Georgia - she’s a funny one
Kourtney Kardashian
the vocal fry, monotone & slow pace - they’re a perfect match!
I’m trying to be more present and not on my phone but there’s moments where my impulse is to scream.
lighthearted but those moments where your child is watching something mind-numbing or your toddler is doing the same repetitive action over and over. You can’t be bothered to get up to do real/imaginary housework, you’re trying not to be on your phone so you’re just sitting being present in this mind-numbingly boring situation lol
I have loads of these throughout the day where I feel I’m just waiting for the next part of the day - do you all just smile sweetly and savour the moment?!?
love him ditching boys night. i want to protect him at all costs
how exactly did you do it. and not just mantras etc but what would a day look like in the process of becoming unbothered? Eg little steps, changes and actions
I have a 1&5 year old and am easily triggered by … anything. I want to just let theirs and my husbands moods be allowed without it bothering me so much. logically I know it’s silly to be so triggered by other people but actually trying to change it is easier said than done…
i‘m on s2e2 and am finding Liam very endearing - wondering if he turns out to be a douche
granted he looks like Mackenzie Crook but in a charming way
do the predator keepers thinks they’re the coolest whilst bug keepers are the considered the nerds??
how would you suggest my 5 year old get help if for example I fall down the stairs and am unconscious etc.
our door needs a key to open it and there’s a bit of a knack to it so unless the back door is open I can’t see how she’d physically go and get help.
i could teach her to call 999 from my iPhone Home Screen but again that’s quite fiddly and my phone could be in any number of places.
our Alexa is usually plugged and I think you can call 999 from that?
even when I don’t have any real anxieties eg money, relationship, health my mind is always on the go - thinking about what’s happening later that day, what I could serve when friends come over for dinner that week, what time train do I need to get - the list goes on. then when I have real anxieties they just don’t leave my head.
I function pretty much fine? but I’m never truly lost in the moment, even on a lovely day at the beach with my family I never truly just sit and take in the moment - I’m always sorting a towel, thinking about lunch, tidying something. I never lose track of time which sounds lovely
i have a 1 & 5 year old and work full time. I’m just never “being”.
has anyone resolved this for themselves? I feel like I’m missing out on life by thinking about life
as your child gets older and stays up later - are you spending the evenings together? I’ve enjoyed my child going to bed at 7ish which is pretty much filled up with dinner, quick tv show and bath and then I can have my evening either solo / with my partner but I think the bedtime needs to be pushed back.
are you spending most evenings all merrily watching tv together / playing games until bedtime? do you do a mix of together evenings and pottering separately?
do I now have to wait till 8 every night to start to wind down myself - bath, my own tv, reading etc?
already mourning a shorter evening of adult time
Edit to add she’s nearly 6
