TOP 10 HOT TAKES OF GAMINGGRIDCOMMUNITY HOT TAKE EVENT + 2 Special HOT TAKES
Hollow Knight is the most overrated game in gaming for two reasons. The bosses while never bad and most being decent or good are not as special as people make them out to be and I struggle to remember most of them. Secondly the storytelling is absolute dogshit and you won't understand much by the end. Silksong fixes both of these issues along with having better combat. I still like HK and think it's an 8/10 game but it's so overrated. By u/Open-Advisor6819
Elden Ring is by no means the easiest Soulsborne By u/NickolsonNick
3)Baldur's Gate 3 is a terrible game and is only so beloved because the game hyper sexualizes everyone in it and allows people to act out sexual fantasies with its characters while playing a frankly mediocre RPG. By u/Dungeon3D
- Games should be 100 dollars minimum By u/Tulip_gorgeous554
5)MORE GAMES NEED MOBILE PORTS! We got Ripoffs of them as Mobile games. Why not make the game they're ripoffing a Mobile Port Also Games should atleast be 20$. 40$ Maximum By u/Pretend_Camp_2987
Ooh boy, I dont care if a game has Al assets, voice, story, code. And I also don't care if a game is an asset flip. A good game is a good game. Fun is fun. Spoken from an Author of 6 books published before Al, and a game dev with 1 shipped and 1 in development that is fully aware of the effects Al has directly on me and others. They are just tools. Stop making souls games for players who want easy. You'll never match fromsoft that way and you'll only get known for pushing slop. They dont want souls games, they want the souls games communities attention. By u/SoulsDadYT
9)Gameplay over story unless its an rpg By u/OpportunityCrazy2216
10)Soulslikes aren't hard, you just aren't patient. If you want a genuinely hard game play like Celeste or a bullet hell style game By u/Acrobatic-Echo7186
Special Hot Takes : (GG Core team selected)
- Halo Campaign Evolved should be held as the Gold Standard for Video Game Remakes. It's Nostalgic without being a carbon copy (Metal Gear Solid Delta), it doesn't needlessly remove things just to sell them back to you later as DLC (Resident Evil 4 Remake), and it adds content without feeling like it is needlessly bloated (Silent Hill 2 Remake). Also while it is not perfect, and on PC & Xbox you do have access to the superior MCC, it is the only Halo available on Playstation and its a test bed for blending UE5 & the Blam engine to help with future game development.

- Stop taking things out of a game or game series to make it better for smooth-brained idiots who refuse to mentally grow. If you had something in there before, bring it back or replace it with an improvement. Don't just get rid of it and do nothing else instead. This applies to game modes, game characters, and stuff like that.

I rarely see people talk about Xenogears when discussing great JRPG stories
The story gets absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible. Religion, philosophy, psychology, war, identity, trauma, giant robots... somehow it all fits together.
And the deeper you get into it, the more you realize how much stuff was being set up earlier.
Honestly feels like one of those games where the story deserved way more attention than it got.
Anyone here actually played Xenogears? What did you think of the story?
