Has anyone here locked their hair from a twistout?

I got these two strand twists (not rope twists) around 2 weeks ago and i’m thinking of taking them out and locking the twistout, but i’m not too sure how to go about it soooo i have some questions. I dont really wanna lock the two strands themselves because i don’t want my hair to be too thick.

1: Will my hair naturally turn back into an afro after awhile (after i take out the two strands)? Even if i don’t manipulate it at all?

2: How long should i wait before taking out the two strands?

3: Will it unravel really easily?

4: Will i need to tie it up at night or could i just wear a durag like usual

5: anything else i should know lol

thanks

Why do SOME christian’s hate NASA???

Always thought about this. These same people usually deny evolution too (despite the amount of evidence we have for it), and i’m just wondering why..? Do they think that science in genera is some kind of direct threat to their faith? The amount of nasa conspiracy theory videos i’ve seen online is insane lol

Have you ever met another black atheist in real life?

Just wondering if any of you guys have. I’m 18m nigerian living in Canada and every black person i’ve met has been religious.
I do know that a lot of black atheists irl don’t really talk about their non-belief in god (in fear of being ostracized by others), so maybe i’ve actually interacted with one before without knowing it 😂. I myself have never disclosed my lack of belief in god to any other black people because i’m worried about how i’ll be treated afterwards lol

Should i let the two strands loc or loc the twist out

First two pics are my current starters. Last pic is from a few months ago when i did a twist out (washed them out after cuz i wasn’t ready to commit).

Also what’s the pros and cons of doing either? Are there any major advantages to having more locs? I’m also worried that if i try to loc the twistout, my hair in the back might unravel. I grew out my back taper and my hair is kinda short back there

got my starters

Been getting cut bald by my african parents for years on end. Don’t know how i reached this point while living in their home still but i’m glad that era is over now!

Also i have a question — I wanna start my locs with the twistout so how long should i wait before taking these twists out?

Will my starter locs shrink a lot?

Got these done a week ago and this is how they’re looking now. I plan to take out the twists in a few weeks and lock the twist out. I’m just curious if they’re going to “shrink” a lot as they continue to mature. I didn’t get my hair blow dried when i got them done

What exactly makes her music feel so different and special?

NTMT is still in my top 5 favorite albums and I listened to it a few years ago. I’ve listened to a bunch of really good albums since then but none of them make me FEEL the same way that ntmt does. Its actually the only album i’ve ever cried to while listening to it (on the first listen too) lol. Wasn’t even going through a special period of my life as well, i listened to it for the first time on some random unimportant summer day.

I can’t really explain it, since i’m not some kind of expert in music.. maybe it’s just my personal preference 🤷‍♀️, but idkk something about her music just makes her stand out from other pop artists and i can’t put my finger on it

planning on getting dreads, but i’m scared lol

I booked an appointment already with the hair stylist for next week, still have time to cancel and i’ve been thinking about it ngl 😂. I’m 18 and have a job and a car, and i’m starting college soon at a decent school.. Yet for some reason i feel scared to even do something as simple as change my OWN hairstyle. What else do i have to achieve to get the freedom to do something this simple?
It’s not like i’m going out partying, smoking, or doing drugs lol.

I remember growing up and finally reaching highschool, hearing all my non-african friends talk about their plans to grow their hair, dye it, or even get some piercings. I was always like “damn, you guys have the option to just go out and do that?” Never knew that it was normal for kids to have basic autonomy over their own body.. None of my friends ever understood it, when i told them that i’m not allowed to grow my own hair, and i don’t blame them for that tbh 😭.

I did start growing my hair slowly and slowly, fighting with my parents constantly and i have enough length to do styles now.

Anyways it’s just wild how i feel anxious like this over a decision like this regarding my own hair. I almost feel guilty because i’m doing something that’s apparently “forbidden”.

Anyone else been through something similar? I’ve seen a lot of videos online of african parents reaction to their kids getting piercings, tattoos, and hairstyles so i’m a bit scared 😂. Taking a big risk i guess. My parents are strict but they’re not strict enough to the point where they’d cut my hair in my sleep or straight up kick me out so maybe i’ll be fine but i’ll update

Do any of u guys still have to go to church?

Im 18, haven’t told my family i’m an atheist. I have nigerian parents and if i even hint at not wanting to go church they’re gonna get so mad. Even when i used to be christian it still felt like a waste of time, because they gloss over most parts of the bible and they say the same fucking thing every sunday.

Anyways i’m wondering if any other black atheists still have to go to church and what it’s like for you guys lol. I live with my parents still so i pretty much have no choice 😭

Why are christian’s so hateful

Every time i see a homophobic, misogynistic, or racist comment online it’s usually from someone who either has a cross or bible verse in their bio. Like 90% of the time lol. Even in real life too, i remember in high school one time this guy in my class was literally wearing a mother mary shirt, while actively hating on trans people and calling them the f slur 💀.
For real though, why is it always christian’s spewing out some hateful shit? Do they really think they’re gonna get into that heaven they believe in while doing all this?

Anyone else here extremely quiet?

I want to be extroverted and I DO have a lot of things to say, but having a stutter kinda forces me to be quiet most of the time cuz when i talk it usually doesn’t sound right 💀
