Saikoro Steak & Mushroom Rice
Bored of eating steak the same old boring way. Tried this and the wife loves it too.
Washed down with some gin and sparkling. Perfect dinner.

Here’s mine.

First off, I would like to thank the Reddit community here for the great support and information throughout my journey. It has opened a lot of doors of flavour while lurking around on gear and techniques discussed here.
Started my journey in December 30th 2025, when I got my setup as a gift to myself for Christmas. (Timemore C5 ESP Pro + Switch)
Added an Origami brewer and switched to Cafec Abaca filters sometime in February which opened up a ton more flavour and clarity for me.
I have since been switching back and forth between hybrid brews on the switch, with Tetsu’s recipe, and a simple 5-pour recipe on the origami.
Finally decided to get some cake filters from Nana Coffee Roasters in Thailand to learn more about the effects of flat bottom filters. They are a take on the Kalita 155, just thinner and faster flowing.
The brews has been very sweet, but losses its fruitiness when brewed in a conical filter. (I’m still exploring)
Now I’m just thinking what can I do to make my background look a little better. Not a fan of the curtains the wife has in place. Any suggestions?
And what dripper should I get next?
How about a Solo dripper?
Wife's X50 is due for a tyre change, what brands should I be considering?
Should I be looking at SUV specific tyres?
Budget is about RM400-500/pcs
Size: 215/60/R17
Priorities are:
Handles and brakes well in the rain, reduced chance of aquaplaning (Raining season now)
Comfortable, low noise
Thanks in advance
La Pane Pizza
Beef Pepperoni - RM36
Anchovies - RM39
Margherita - RM32
Not as pricey as other pizza joints in the city and definitely punches above its weight class as a neighbourhood pizza joint.
My favourite of the 3 is the Margherita(Not pictured). Good amount of cheeses, generous with the ricotta, fluffy sourdough crust.
Here’s my current favourite:
KURO Coffee in Paramount, good selection of beans, roasted to perfection.
Recommend everyone to try the Honduras Milk Brew(RM25) (it blew my mind) and the Tofu Cheesecake (RM16).
Other good ones I enjoy:
Arkib Coffee Roasters
Bad Artist Coffee Co
One Half
Curate Coffee Roasters
Contours
Liten Coffee
Oysters and Sashimi bought in the morning, plated at home
Was forced by my wife to try this place because of all the pretty pictures she saw online.
But that’s all it is. Looks nice only. Taste (or the lack thereof) totally does not live up to the hype and price.
The Uni I was served wasn’t fresh, had a bitter slight fishy taste, fish wise, no fishiness, but also completely tasteless.
But until GYG lands in Malaysia, I’m still making this healthy burrito bowl that my wife and toddler loves.
Staying in Australia has gotten me obsessed with the body of a Ute. So quick, so practical and holds 4 bodies in the back. (Just kidding)
I know we have the local Jambuck, but don’t see them on the road anymore unfortunately.
Any other known utes in Malaysia? I recall there is 1 Holden Ute here but that’s about it.
Feel free to share more pictures of utes!
