I can cook. But still need to learn how to bake. Here is first attempt.
Kaki Shio (Oyster Ramen) - RM50

I always just get the one from Bonjour Gardens, where else you guys recommend?
Haven’t had any better than this. Portion so big usually can eat half and tapau half.
This place needs no introduction la - Lidah Manja is god tier
Look at the portion size, took me a solid 20 minutes to finish it. (Burried under the veges still got tauhu, tempe, timun, & pedal)
Everything about it is perfect. Even the chicken breast wasn’t too overcooked. A little, but not bone dry.
Sambal was the real star here, as you eat you get more addicted to it.
Lastly, hats off to the owner, tested both outlets few times, taste is consistently good in both shops.
Sad to see that my favourite fish and chip shop 5-mins from my house has dipped in quality.
Shortfalls:
Dry overcooked fish
No more lemon wedge
Tartar sauce taste just like plain mayonnaise (barely any of the fixings)
Not sure if they reduced the ingredients from the tartar sauce and removed the lemon wedge to make up for profit margins, but they also increased the price to 19.90 from 16.90.
Price is not an issue, but I feel shortchanged when they increase price and reduce quality.
Attached last picture for when they were in their prime.
I hate what this hobby has done to me. I can no longer drink coffee’s from regular coffee shop.
No coffee from a regular shop will cut it anymore. I find myself standing at the cashier for way too long before ordering just to try and gauge how the coffee will taste like based on the brews they are preparing for other customers.
And most often time just contemplate for 7 minutes and tell myself it’s not worth it to let bad coffee ruin my day. Then proceed with my day under caffeinated and wait till I get home to drink a good cuppa after dinner.
I guess I’m just better off bringing my brew kit with me from now on.
I’ve stopped cooking when it started turning blonde. Finished a light golden color. But it is bitter.
What did I do wrong?

Not sure if it’s the best, but surely very enjoyable.
After using the Switch and Origami Air for the past 6 months. Lately I have been reaching back for the 01 Plastic V60.
The shorter body allows me to get much closer to the bed and control agitation better. Smaller also makes it easier to clean.
Brews are sweet, good clarity and decent body.
Brew it straight into my mug
Milk Pudding with Matcha Koicha - RM17
Black Sesame Mochi w Osmanthus base - RM15
3 Layer Matcha Pudding - RM18
Matcha Latte (Yugen #1) - I forgot
All the matcha used is from Yugen directly from Japan. Way better than what we have commercially available here.
Milk Pudding was my favourite, almost wanted to order a second one.
Mochi texture was spot on, made right infront of you.
3 layer pudding is decadent but not jelak.
Highlight of the night was the Matcha Latte made with Yugen no.1. Had notes of fermented fruit which was very eye opening aside from the basic nutty and umami notes of matcha.
If you’re matcha obsessed, try this. Today last day.
Also, don’t come if you don’t want to be spoilt by the quality of Matcha she uses. Makes everything else taste low grade. (Not dropping names but you know la.)
Hey neighbour, if you see this, you have great taste bro.
Assam Prawn Skewers
Moo Ping (1 batang didn’t make it to the dinner table)
Spicy lemongrass grilled fish
Bored of eating steak the same old boring way. Tried this and the wife loves it too.
Washed down with some gin and sparkling. Perfect dinner.
