This is absolutely ridiculous. I spend all of my time in hotspots and I go to different ones, I have shop and deliver pizza delivery everything turned on, and they will not give me offers. I have THREE times the amount of dash time than active time. I’m just so angry I can’t find another job so this is all I have right now.
Hey mantis community, my aunt picked this up at the our garden shop and gave them to me to raise a few and release the rest(I had been mentioning wanting mantises). I looked up the species and they’re invasive to my area. They’re Chinese mantises.
I have a butterfly enclosure/deli cups sitting around and a ton of invert experience so I’m planning to raise them all myself. However, I’m not sure how I’m going to manage 100-200 giant mantises once they grow.
Is it ethical to sell or give them away locally here in Reno, Nevada? Releasing them is completely off the table for me to protect local wildlife, and culling takes a really heavy emotional toll on me.
I worry adopters might release them if they lose interest, but interviewing every person to make sure they don’t might make rehoming impossible. I could ship to people if I’m able to but I’m not sure how to ship live animals.
If I have to, I’ll keep all 100+ in my setup, but I’m hoping for a better solution. How do I responsibly manage a them without harming the environment/my feelings?😅

I rescued an adult female tan jumper a while ago from my room, she was super malnourished and dehydrated so I took her in and absolutely fell in love with the species.
So I got this baby from my favorite breeder who breeds less popular spoods as soon as she was available and she is just so gorgeous. Her eyes look like they’re too big for her face😭🥹
I'm still a bit freaked out, but I wanted to share this because I initially tried to gaslight myself into thinking I was just being paranoid, and I don’t think I was.
I (19F) was walking on a secluded, narrow trail earlier today when I realized two men were behind me. I checked over my shoulder and they were about 100 feet back. I continued walking, checked again, 75 feet. I sped up but they did too, 50 feet. Eventually, they were just 25 feet behind me, completely matching my pace, which at that point was almost a jog.
They were dressed in heavy outfits with coats totally unsuited for the 85° weather, had no pets or phones, and were focused entirely on me, every time I turned my head they had their eyes locked on me.
I finally pulled out my phone and made a fake call, and that’s the exact moment they stopped closing in. They continued to follow me for a while but slowed down. I got out of the trail and once I was on a main road they stopped following me and I made it home.
So just a reminder to trust your instincts!
Found in my yard Reno Nevada it’s not moving much but is still alive, I put it in an old spare tank I have with humid but not wet soil, leaf litter, and a little calcium. Is there hope? (This is almost certainly not pesticide exposure since we don’t use them)
(Plains wolf spider) I bought this girl a couple months ago and she’s very entertaining to feed ☺️
So today I was walking my dog in Mayberry Park, Reno Nevada(right next to a river). Once I got back to my house that has absolutely no bodies of water next to it, I realized this guy was in my bag.
I put him in a pill bottle so he didn’t escape. I think I’ll either have to take him back to that area or keep him because the humidity levels are worlds apart.
I’m pretty sure he’s a baby bold jumping spider. He’s really cute but I don’t wanna take a vulnerable species or anything.

He is a juvenile Togo rain frog, gave him a 20 gallon long, 6 inches of perfectly damp but not wet substrate, shallow water bowl with conditioned water, and tilted food bowl with calcium coated fruit flies. His substrate is 70% reptisoil 30% reptisand btw! Did as much research as I possibly could so I do know how important his soil is.
I got him from a friend who bought him before she realized how reclusive these guys are, they spend almost all of their time underground. I don’t recommend buying them since they’re all wild caught, impossible to breed in captivity. Welcome home my new pet dirt❤️ if anyone has any experience with these guys I’d appreciate advice!

Hey all, first time poster. I usually have nightmares but I think of it as a good thing cuz I wake up and feel good that it wasn’t real. However I’ve never been affected by a nightmare like this.
Basically I have a bunch of animals and my worst fear is a house fire that I can’t save them all from. This nightmare targeted that.
It started with a mild flame, and me getting a warning from my dad but I was too fast asleep to realize. Then I got another warning, my dad actually screaming to please get out, but I was still asleep. It escalated very quickly from there and I saw flames bursting through my window.
At that point I was awoken and I let out two of the most guttural screams I’ve ever scrumpt. I tumbled off my loft bed, injuring my knee, and ran out of my room so fast. Immediately my dad and brother came to greet me and let me know everything’s okay.
Here’s what’s getting to me: why didn’t I try to grab any of my animals when I was scared there was actually a fire? Am I actually a bad person? Also how can a dream affect me that much? Any insight is greatly appreciated 💗
