Will unis view predicted grades from a private centre ‘ less ‘ than from a school?

I’m resitting my a levels, considering Aec tutors. They are a registered ucas centre and have good and many reviews. They provide predicted grades and references based on mocks. My school will not provide me references and predicted grades. Someone on student room told me that unis often won’t consider grades provided by a private centre rather than a school or sixth form. Is this true? I’m planning on reapplying to medicine.

How many ‘locked’ papers are there for OCR A chemistry ?

What exactly are ‘restricted’ papers? Are they like contingency papers that haven’t been sat?

Educo London - is this legit ? Private candidate

I’ve been asking them about predicted grades and UCAS references for the past 2 weeks, since they said they provide them. But I’ve rang them up to provide prices and they haven’t provided them yet. They never seem to respond to my messages. Does anyone have any experience with Educo London? Does it seem legit?
I’m running out of options as I’m a private candidate resitting my a levels I need predicted grades and a UCAS reference.

Private candidate - predicted grades and UCAS reference

Does anyone know of any online providers that provide predicted grades and ucas references by sitting online mocks ?

Is this exam centre legit ?

I’m resitting my a levels as I have had extenuating circumstances and have definitely flopped. My school has alr said they cannot provide reference or predicted grades. Is

Legit ?

It seems to have reviews but not any recent ones. It says it’s regulated by offed and JCQ accredited. They provide mock exams online for predicted grades and references. But I saw another few webpages with the same exam centre address as this one….
My ucas deadline is October 15th.
Does anyone know if this is legit? Does anyone have any recommendations on which private centres offer online mocks for predicteds ?

Psicon ADHD private diagnosis - extra time

Hi I have my adhd assessment tomorrow. I’ve went down the private route at Psicon after being on the waiting list for 3 years so I just gave up w nhs route. I have had persistent symptoms since 8-9 years old, I’ve been told countless times to get checked for ADHD by teachers but my parents never took it seriously, it has effected my studies, exams , school life. I just finished my a levels and need to resit them bc I’ve definitely flopped. Because I used to loose focus in school and exams I would find it incredibly hard to do well in timed exams, I would often only finish 3/4 of the paper. But I’ve never been given extra time from school since they said they need an official diagnosis. So I really think I would benefit from the standard 25% extra time. I looked on the Psicon website and it takes 8 weeks for a full diagnostic report after the assessment. I am retaking a heavily timed entrance exam in 3 weeks, I failed last year due to said problems. What do I do? I will find out the results of the assessment tomorrow straight after the assessment verbally from the psychiatrist. I don’t know if I will do well without extra time. I’ve been practicing with and without 25% extra time, with extra time I do averagely, without I do shit and struggle a lot. After my assessment tomorrow should I ask my psychiatrist about this to see if they can provide a recommendation or short letter for extra time? How would I even ask anyone about this ? Bc I don’t want it to seem like I’m performing for extra time. Overall I don’t entirely mind, I think I’m not going to get into med school anyway. But if I do actually have adhd it would be good to have a fair shot at the exam, but overall I just want clarity. Has anyone had any experience with private route at Psicon?

Could I get extra time? ADHD

I’m currently being assessed for ADHD, my doctor said my symptoms are strongly consistent with ADHD, I’ve also had these symptoms since 8/9 yrs old, severe issues learning in school too but I come from a physically abusive household that hates mental health so I’ve never got it checked out until I begged my mum 2 weeks ago. I’m going down the private root very surprisingly my mum offered to pay which I’m incredibly thankful for. I did the questionnaire, I tested positive for ADHD, I have my assessment booked for 3 weeks time. I have also definitely flopped my a levels so I’ll be resitting next year. I didn’t think I could get extra time for ucat, but since I have my assessment in 3 weeks and the deadline for applying for extra time is September 10th, could I be eligible for extra time and possibly receive it? The problem is I have never been given any sort of extra time in school. I have told my school on many occasions that I find it really difficult to concentrate and focus and my mind completely goes blank at times, but they have denied me extra time.

Is it too late to change career paths?

So I have extenuating circumstances , and im going to have to resit my a levels. I’m planning on reapplying to med , but there are only a few that accept resits with no min requirement first time around and they base selection entirely on ucat. I have booked my ucat for 17th of sep and have started my prep now. But I just want to be realistic, if I don’t get a good enough score would it be too late to change to an Accounting and Finance degree or regular Bsc Finance? I’ve only had a bit of finance experience at Siemens. I can get some more since the ucas deadline for that is January. I do have a genuine interest in finance, but I need a lot more stuff to write about on my ps, I was thinking of doing moocs, and virtual work experience, LSE also has a 10 week online course which I can do. Is it doable to just completely switch ? Medicine is obviously my first choice, but I’m not confident I can get a good score again, and I cannot take another gap year. And I really don’t want to do GEM - im sorry im not going to pay an extortionate amount of money for a degree I don’t even want just for the uncertainty of getting into med.

Ppl who do the UCAT later score worse

^^^
Is this true? Does the test get harder when you do it later? I would like to give myself a little break since I just finished my a level exams last week. And am planning to book my UCAT for the first or second week of September. So I’m just wondering if the test becomes significantly harder or something after September 1st ? 😭 I did mine in August last year and got a very good score.

UCAT extra time

Hi I was just diagnosed with ADHD 2 days ago, and I’m unsure which extra time I would need for the UCAT. On the website there is an option for 25% extra time and 50% extra time. I have never had extra time on any of my exams bc I had never had a diagnosis until now. I’m assuming I would have 25 % extra time ?
I have a diagnosis letter from my go and psychiatrist, it mentions extra time as an access arrangement, but nothing about how much extra time I need.

What are my chances ? (medicine)

Saw someone else post something similar and they got brutally attacked.
Hi I’ve been going through a rough time in sixth form, I just finished my exams. I am trying to apply to for extenuating circumstances but my school is saying I can’t. I reckon I got DEE in my exams ( not exaggerating at all) even tho I was predicted all A\*s. I got 2320 in my UCAT and had an offer for medicine at Bristol. I’ve already talked with my teachers about resitting, they said they are willing to predict me A\*s, bc they know A\* A A is realistically achievable for me since I was always achieving more than that until my circumstances started.
I’ll be resitting the UCAT this summer,
So for good measure suppose I get 2200 in my UCAT, and apply with 3 A\*s predicted but DEE achieved 💔 and with no E.Cs if they aren’t approved, realistically what chance would I have at Exeter, Soton, Sheffield & Edge Hill ? They all say they accept resits without any minimum requirements. Exeter specifically say they view someone who is resitting equally to someone who’s not, as in their predicteds are viewed equally.
How likely would it be to get an interview?
Just a note I did fm in year 12 and got an A in it, but I don’t think that counts…
I’ve been facing some rlly disturbing things with my dad, and I rlly don’t want to to tell my school about it and there’s no way it will even be considered extenuating circumstances, but it has affected my mental health and how I was able to concentrate in school. Please don’t leave any snarky comments, we are all human. I can’t control my family members actions. And I realise how much it takes to get A\* A A in my resits, that’s why I’ve started revising now even tho I just finished my last a level exam today. And before anyone tells me I’m not fit to be a doctor bc of my a levels, I usually tend to work well under pressure. But the stuff going on w my dad is really disturbing and disgusting ( it’s not abuse dw) but if anyone was going through the same thing I’m sure they would feel the same. And it doesn’t even count as an extenuating circumstance, so welp. There are unis like Sheffield, Soton, Eexeter, Edge hill, Brunel and even Bristol that don’t have any minimum requirements for first sat grades. I’m aware of a few people who got below Cs and were interviewed at Exeter. And since my teachers have already agreed to predict me 3 A\*s and I have a decent chance at doing well in my UCAT again, does anyone know how likely it would be to get interviews from Exeter, Sheffield and any other unis ? For med.
My dad got a different job abroad and he’ll only be visiting us once in a couple months starting from September, so I’ll finally have some peace and I’ll be able to concentrate and get the grades.

Pls advise, I’m really not looking for any judgement

If I get DEE in my a levels but get a good UCAT score and apply for resits and apply with predicted grades of A* A* A , is there still a chance I can do medicine ? Exeter, Sheffield, Soton, Bristol , Edge hill say they don’t have any min requirements for resitting.
I will do mocks that determine my predicteds, bc realistically my school will not predict me anything over a C which is completely understandable.
I am really not looking for any judgement or snarky remarks, I’ve faced enough of that already. Year 13 has been really horrible for me, it started out great, I was on track for A* A* A and I had an offer for medicine. But then my friend group fell apart, I felt like I had no one to connect with, I don’t have a good relationship with my sibling - he has a job in Ireland and we barely talk. I don’t have the best relationship with my parents either - I only talk to them during dinner and they genuinely seem to give no care about me except for my grades. I’ve really been in a bad state mentally. Most of my exams are finished now and I truly think I got no higher than DEE. In my March mocks I got DDU, I obviously have revised since then but with how the exams went I really think I’ve flopped, and I couldn’t bring myself to revise for the other exams bc after an exam I would come home and cry for hours. I’ve been wanting to do medicine my whole life, I lost my grandpa due to a severe medical incompetency which I won’t go into rn, but ever since then I have never thought of another career except medicine , and now I’ve absolutely obliterated my chances. I really don’t want to do the GEM route, bc it’s so much more competitive, and I really don’t have enough money for 2 degrees bc tbf I doubt my parents will even help pay in the slightest for my university course bc of my a levels, so I’d be absolutely drowning in student debt. I’ve done a fair bit of research, some schools like Exeter and Edge Hill say they don’t disadvantage resisters, does this mean no matter how badly my first sitting is I won’t be penalised in any way?
Has anyone else been through something similar and studied medicine rn ?
Kindly, no judgement please 🙏 this is the lowest point I’ve ever been at in my life
