How to handle thin ceilings and neighbours TV/music after 11pm?

Hi all - I am one of those stupid people who tapered off my meds after 2 years without telling my doctor. I will be contacting them this week but I wanted to gather some info and my thoughts first.
The first time I went off sertraline, my OCD came back like a high speed train and I was bed bound so I went back to Zoloft quite quickly, so I don't know if it ever would've gotten better if I stayed off.
A couple years later (now), I tapered off again (a few months ago) and my OCD is back but not as worse as the last taper and I'm able to get through my days (though not with ease). I'm just curious - is this some kind of discontinuation syndrome? Do I need to give it a few more months and see if my OCD is still there before considering going back on?
I'm just cautious about trying to be honest with myself here. Is what I'm feeling a normal ssri "crash" or is my OCD just back and I need to get on the ssri train forever now?
Curious to hear people's experiences - particularly if you came off SSRIs and then experienced symptoms again. Did they ever go away or did you have to go back on meds?
Thanks all

Hey all,
Does anyone have experience contacting London councils about noise from neighbours? Particularly Ealing.
Neighbour has had music on, loud TV etc the last few days after 1am. But the Ealing noise folk only work between 9-5pm on some days, and up to 1am on other days (but often the noise starts after 1am so they cannot come out after that time).
What do I do in this situation? When it first happened I spoke to the neighbour but it has still continued.
Thanks all
Sorry, I am sure this has been asked many times but I've an ultrasound coming up (not pregnancy related). Last time I had one for a completely different thing, the ultrasound tech was kind of telling me what they were seeing and it gave me great relief.
My app also showed the report literally 15 mins after I left.
Now I have a US coming up for something unrelated and I'm worried it won't be the same experience. I've googled and it says that if they're not seeing anything concerning, they might tell you there and then. But they'll stay silent if they see something serious and refer you 🙃🙃 so I'm just panicking about how much I'll be microanalysing the sonographer's behaviour on the day. I am a health anxious person (as you can tell), so I just wish there was one strict rule they followed for these tests so I don't panic.
Any words of wisdom please? Thank you so much
Hi all,
We handed in notice to leave our flat. Followed all laws correctly in line with Renter's Rights Act & rent payment cycles etc.
We used the email address provided in the tenancy agreement which says notices can be sent via email. It was also sent from both tenant's email addresses to cover all bases.
We followed up via email last week - nothing.
Sent a WhatsApp message today to his number that he usually replies on for repairs etc. no reply yet but it's only been a few hours.
My question is: if we can't contact him after calling (which we will try tomorrow), do we just leave the keys inside the property once we clean & vacate?
Thanks!

Acted on an impulse and spiralling still. It pops up now and again and I can't tell any friends because I honestly don't know what they'd think.
About 5 years ago I downloaded a friendship meeting people app and got a random impulse to switch to the "romantic relationship" version and I started getting likes and I deleted the whole thing in 20 seconds - I freaked out. I downloaded it to meet someone for dinner or something in a new city I was travelling in. I'm in a very happy relationship and I didn't even think anything of this at the time. Then the thought that I actually did this popped into my brain 2 years ago and I told my partner straight away and they just laughed it off.
But in my head I cheated. I can't ask my partner for reassurance again because this just fuels the spiral.
What do I do to move past this? It's making me feel really sick and I've lost my appetite. If I tell friends they'll probably drop hate me. I just don't know what to do.
Hi all - I started applying for PhDs last year at one particular institution.
After being rejected post interview for my first application, I applied for another studentship earlier this year (also rejected, no interview, no feedback).
I'm now applying to a third studentship at the same place and need to use the same applicant portal I've used for all the other applications.
I am worried my rejections will look really bad when they look at the applicant portal.. I was thinking to make a new account but this feels wrong.
Any advice or am I worrying over nothing?
So I'm in my 30s now.
I came from a low income household and I'm a minority. Was always mediocre at school and failed a couple of things here and there. I got a degree and a masters.
I always thought getting a degree was going to rid me of that mediocre hole I put myself in and I did feel like I could go somewhere in life.
Did shit in my masters degree and never quite "made it" after being totally average in school. For the last year, I just feel like everything has been against me. But this is all my fault?
I feel lazy and tired and stupid most of the time. I have a decent paying job I literally couldn't care less about, but I get to WFH and I don't even have to work hard in it and have ample free time. This begs the question that is why the hell am I complaining???
Most days I can't even get out of bed before 10. I was on SSRIs for 2 years but recently tapered off because I didn't feel they were doing anything. I just feel frozen.
I wish and long so deeply for a dream career and I just don't have one and I'm not happy wasting my time. Wtf is the point in all of this?
Does anyone have any words of wisdom or advice? Thank you so much for anyone who reads this and can offer any words - I REALLY appreciate it.
Hi all,
With the RRA in effect, we (partner & I) handed in our notice for the property we've been living in for 3 yrs. We aligned it with a rent payment cycle (sent it a few days before this) and ensured it ends on the day before the next rent is due.
We sent it via email to the email address listed in our tenancy agreement which has a clause which says notices can be served by email and sent it from both of our email addresses.
It's been a month and he hasn't replied but I'm guessing he doesn't need to? Just slightly worried we've gone wrong somewhere and he's withholding it (he's a history of being a bit of an a**hole).
Thanks all!
I've had what feels like fat on my leg above my knee and it feels noticeably bulgier than the left leg - I first noticed 2 years ago and it's been the same since. It goes away when I straighten my legs and feels like thicker skin.
No pain, nothing "moves" under the skin but it's not well defined. I'm very scared this could be something like sarcoma and I'm very worried.
Any ideas whether this is normal? I'm 50kg btw and have always been on the "lower" weight side but never had eating issues etc.
I wanted to go from Rhodes city centre to my destination (hotel 7 mins drive away) which said €10 on the board. Taxi comes by and asks for €15 after we get inside so I said no. Next one said €12. I asked them both about the official boards but they shut me down.
What are the official board / notices for then? Can we ask the drivers to use meters or will they just say no?
One thing amongst many frustrating behaviours and needs I have is to carry 2 large packs of antibacterial wipes for hotels. I've been reading about the plastic in these and now I feel overwhelming guilt about how many I get through for wiping down all surfaces in hotel rooms when I go on holiday, and for the floor, toilet etc.

But I know I can't get rid of this habit either. I feel the bacteria and dirt crawling up and down my skin and the wipes keep my anxiety at bay.

I feel like all the climate activists would cancel me if they knew what I was doing.

Does anyone else have this?
Hi all! I'm coming to your beautiful island next week and my parents haven't travelled a lot. They're a bit reserved and stubborn but once they get going, they do enjoy things in the end..

I'm hoping to find some recommendations of what not to miss whilst we're in Rhodes.

On my list I have roughly the following: exploring the old town, a day trip to Lindos, beach day near our hotel (the beach is Paralia Ixia just a few mins away. I also had a boat trip to Marmaris or Fethiye. They love markets so if anyone has any recommendations for which one might be better for this - I'd love to hear.

They also want to seek out some vegetarian food spots so if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.

Any other suggestions would be amazing - thank you so much!!!
Ok so one thing I've noticed about my AP is that they think everybody is psychic. Let me explain.
Let's say I thought of a recipe at 12pm and had 9/10 ingredients in the house. And let's say my AP went to the supermarket at 10am (i.e., before I thought of this recipe) - they will very seriously ask me why I didn't tell them I was making said recipe so they "could've picked up" that 10th ingredient.
Like??? If only I could go back in time? What do they want me to say?
They do this all the time. Any minor inconvenience and I'm met with "but why didn't you say you needed XYZ and I could've got it". BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW THIS SPECIFIC SITUATION IWAS GOING TO HAPPEN?
Ran out of some painkillers and only just discovered it? "But why didn't you say you needed some when I went to the pharmacy?"
They also do it to themselves.
They leave the house at their usual time, but there's a sudden car accident on the main road, making them 20 minutes late. "I knew I should've left the other route. Why did I take this route?"
I'm honestly sick of it. It makes me feel incompetent and I'm literally 30. Just wanted to ask if it was my AP or if mine is just different!?
Ok so I feel stupid and bad about this. I had my 3rd titration appointment 3 weeks ago and I was meant to go and pick up the latest prescription but I just.. didn't.
Like what the hell is wrong with me? I put it off and off and off and now the appointment is tomorrow afternoon and I can't just turn up and say I haven't even tried the latest dose!
I've emailed a few addresses I found for harrow health to cancel / rearrange and apologised but I know they're slow to get back. I'll ring first thing tomorrow but I know from experience you can be on hold for ages. I guess that's my fault though.
Has anyone been through this? I'm so stupid for not just picking the god damn prescription up like I did perfectly well the last two times. I don't want to waste their time tomorrow obviously.
Edit: 4th titration appt, not third. Sigh
Smashed something 6 years ago, didn't admit it was me until months later.. in my fkin 30s!
I need to get this off my chest because the anxiety and shame from this memory still hit me in waves, and I don't know how to let it go.
About six years ago (adult in their 30s!!!), I was over at someone's house I still know. I was in a room and, out of pure curiosity, I opened a cupboard. Well, instant karma hit. Something in the cupboard fell with it, and I ended up completely smashing the toilet completely.
I panicked. My heart was racing, I felt physically sick, and I was completely petrified. Instead of doing the normal adult thing, I didn't admit it was me. Nobody knew who did it in that moment.
Guilt got to me. I confessed over msg, and sent them the money.
I feel absolutely horrendous about how I handled it initially. Every time I think about it, I want to melt and die of embarrassment. I was so so stupid and I cannot forgive myself.
Am I a monster for how I handled this? How do I get past the shame of this? I beat myself up almost everyday in my mind.
TL;DR: opened a cupboard; I smashed the toilet :) I feel unwell.

Edit: guys you're being oddly nice here. It was the fucking toilet. JESUS MARY AND JOSEPH it was a toilet. Doesn't that make It 500000x worse!? Why was I being a snoopy little asshole in a cupboard???
