Is D103 OA1 much harder than PA?

Hey, about to tackle the first D103 OA. For anyone that's taken it, is it significantly more challenging than the PA or about the same? I did pretty well on that (although there wasn't a score provided).

3 days in: Why I'm not returning my Power Keyboard, but why you probably will.

Alrighty all, I like many was super excited to get the Power keyboard at last. Seeing the reviews as people got theirs, I was trying not to get disheartened by my expectations were very much tempered. That said, it's here and while I'm underwhelmed, I'll be keeping. But most likely, you won't want to if my reasons I'd otherwise return it are the same for you.

I'm just gonna kick off with the bad. I'm using mine with an S24 Ultra. The keyboard is so hefty and the distance of it from the back of the phone is so noticeable that if you don't hold it at just the right, completely uncomfortable position, you will not be able to hit most keys easily. And holding it brings so many problems. I can genuinely say that I have pains in my wrist and right hand from my time with this. Immediately after every use, it's a level of discomfort I don't think I've ever felt using something. The keys themselves are tiny and a real challenge to get used to, but I'm going to give that more time as I'm getting a tad bit faster each day. Many of the shortcuts shown in the app mostly don't work (and that one post showing alternate ones for Android largely doesn't seem correct for my phone either). The one key in the bottom right with the 6 circles and triangle also does not do anything. If it wasn't for my one good use case, this would be a return for me.

There's some good. The thing feels solid and I haven't had issues with it collapsing on me mid-use. It sticks very well and has a good amount of brightness customizations. The sym lock, caps lock, and navigation lock (sym+action, then use WASD or IJKL for directional navigation) options are also super useful and well thought out (I imagine these carry over from other Clicks products though).

But finally, my one big use case and biggest reason to keep: a keyboard always on me on the go. I take train rides decently often and most of the time that isn't with my main travel keyboard (MX Keys Mini). When I do go, I always have my Xreal glasses on me. I don't need much when I use DeX on these, just the onscreen trackpad and keyboard, but the physical keyboard enhances my experience. Plus, with the glasses in use, I don't need my keyboard attached to my phone. That leaves just the weight of the keyboard itself in my hand. That's a lot more comfortable using.

So yeah. If you're waiting on yours, I imagine you'll not be very satisfied. But if you need a good little travel keyboard, not for writing out a book but perhaps just typing little things, URLs, etc here and there, this could be a good one. The wireless charging could be nice in a pinch too (I imagine less so for me though as the S24U doesn't have high wireless charging speeds).

Marked absent, but attended and passed exam?

Hey all,

My partner attended an exam in the past week and passed, but now it seems they see they're marked "absent" on the web portal. One area says "absent" but another says "pending evaluation". Anyone know what to do about this/ever experienced this?

Snapdragon Reality Elite still uses Kryo cores from the XR2 gen 2

Considering the "Elite" naming, I was really expecting Oryon-M cores at the very least, not Kryo. And these aren't even the Cortex X prime cores, just A78Cs to begin with which aren't even considered performance cores on most flagship smartphones nowadays.

Compared to the XR2+ Gen 2, the 30% cpu uplift is just due to the clock speed going from 2.4ghz to 2.9ghz (21% higher) and a mild IPC increase from a node shrink, basically a refresh with the same cpu.

For reference that means the Reality Elite will only have a single core performance around the level of the SD8 Gen 1 with worse multi core performance than the SD888. The closest modern equivalent would be Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 to give you an idea of how bad it is.

GPU wise it's much more acceptable, it's likely an underclocked Adreno 830 considering it also has the 12MB gpu cache and given the 830 is about 75% faster than the SD8 G2. It's the only part that can carry the elite branding imo.

Anyone else underwhelmed by the Snapdragon Reality Elite considering it'll be what vr heatsets will be built on for the next ~3 ish years?

Servers down again

Seriously what is going on. Just got booted from my promotion game into a queue of 30 and suspended for 15 mins. How's that fair?

e: 60 seconds before match end... even more annoying, my team won. So here I am suspended, losing drive points, and now farther away from promotion for what would've been a win.

Surface w/ Nvidia N1(X) chip may be coming

Included in the list of devices in this post as "reported or teased so far" is a "Microsoft Surface with Nvidia N1/N1X"!! This is exciting. It's unclear based on the comment they're referencing that MS is referring to a device and not just the new platform itself, but I'm hoping for a Surface Laptop Studio 3. It would explain why SLS2 got discontinued without a successor after so long, as the N1/X chips have been delayed repeatedly for the past year.

For those unaware: The N1X are Nvidia's first foray into consumer chips, with MediaTek providing the (ARM) CPU and Nvidia providing the Blackwell GPU (from past reports based on the spec sheet, the N1X can punch at ~5070 Ti desktop performance).

Any news on Hand Tracking for One/One Pro + Eye?

Eagerly awaiting this feature after we saw some of it back in January. Have we heard anything about it/is anyone testing it now?

Every time I launch DeX, my desktop gets scrambled.

This is the second time I've noticed. Today it's shifted half of my icons and given me 9 Browser icons 😭 Is anyone else experiencing this?

Some good potential news after previous rumors we weren't getting X chips on the Intel units!

I knew RAM was expensive but this is getting out of hand. (Not sure what I did to make the Configurations page break like this - also see inflated SSD price lol)
