Would this be ridiculous or ridiculously cool to put in our backyard?

I love Lord of the Rings and am obsessed with this fire ring and would like to create a fire pit area like the second picture. My husband hates the idea and isn't on board at all and basically said I can't buy it (using my own money, we have separate accounts) because it's "too nerdy" for our shared space.

My other thought was to buy the fire ring and use bricks built up around the outside so you can only see the design inside, but it feels like a waste of the gorgeous design that way.

Front yard faucet is behind the shrubs

Front yard faucet is behind the shrubs

It's difficult for me (a petite woman) to reach the faucet and invariably my hand and arm is scratched up turning on and off. I can't trim the shrub back far enough to remedy the situation. Is there any kind of extension piece a plumber could attach or could the faucet be moved toward the front? Thanks to anyone who can offer advice or a solution!

Best Vet in or near The Colony?

We used Dr. Fred Holt at The Colony Animal Clinic until his retirement, then switched to North Colony Animal Clinic...our 14 year old dog became quite ill of a Friday morning, I immediately called to try to get him in, but they refused to see him, said they could see him on MONDAY. We had to take him that evening to an emergency clinic in Carrollton...where he passed away.

So we just adopted a new dog. Does anyone have a vet they adore? Preferably with emergency services available in house? Thanks!

Adopted a toy mini Aussie yesterday

Long story short: We went to meet our girl for the first time yesterday after being approved by the rescue organization, thinking we would see a "standard" mini Aussie about 25-30 lbs, at 5 years old. We had only seen a pic of her face prior to putting in our application. We were very surprised to see a very TINY face looking out of her crate among the many other small dogs available. Turned out she's a toy mini, weighing 16 lbs. Adorable for sure, but petrified...we learned at the adoption center that she is a "breeder surrender" - no telling how many litters she was forced to have. Walking around the center with her in our arms, she was shivering in fright, would not walk with us, only wanted to get back in her crate. I really wish we had asked more questions before we went to meet her, and that the rescue org had posted more of her "story", along with size and weight, etc. It's my fault I didn't ask these questions, though.

We chose to adopt her anyway...we are experienced dog owners (though she is the smallest of any dog we've ever had) and wanted to help her acclimate to a new life of love and care. We know the 3-3-3 rule, of course, and have allowed her to choose her own safe place...when she had settled there, we brought her crate with a bed tucked inside to that area and she promptly climbed in. I've since read about how challenging it is for breeder surrendered dogs to acclimate to a new environment (the shelter had only had her for a month). We have no other dogs and I read that surrenders would prefer company, so I feel guilty not being able to give her a companion. She did eat this morning, but has not drunk any water. We took her outside yesterday where she peed (yay), and again this morning. I'll take her out (again, on the leash with her harness on since she seems to want to hide under the bushes) soon.

I'm sorry this so long! We're hoping someone else with experience adopting a breeder surrender dog might be willing to share their experience and offer advice? Please? Thank you so much!

Am I wasting my time to even ask my PCP to prescribe compounded tirz? Marginally high bad cholesterol, borderline high BP. Thanks for y'all's honest opinion.
