Should I learn Dutch?

I know this topic gets beaten to death in this sub, for obvious reasons. However, I find myself really attracted to Dutch culture, especially when it comes to sport. It's not my dream to live in the Netherlands, but I wouldn't rule it out and would love to visit within the next year, though I have visited Germany/Austria more than The Netherlands/Belgium. Obviously I've heard that most Dutch people have adequate English, but it couldn't hurt to learn Dutch, especially if I have the urge to learn a language, right? German is the only other one I really have any draw to other than Dutch.

Thank you

How recognisable were Pink Floyd?

Posting here because the other sub likes boys but I was watching Gilmour perform with The Who in 1996 and when he walked on stage, everyone started cheering. I was under the impression that they were the type of band who could walk around on the streets without being recognised at all. Is this true and if so, when did this change? I guess by AMLOR they were maybe doing more interviews for the DSOT tour but idk.

Past series to watch?

I am a relatively new fan of the sport (2017) so the only greats I've truly watched, at least from England, are Root and Cook (and I guess Stokes). Are there any accessible series (Ashes or not) that I can watch that feature these greats everyone talks about. 2005 obviously comes to mind but I feel like I already know what's gone on in that series. Thinking something more recent like 2010 or 2015 Ashes? One where there were stand out performances from England (and Australian) players.

Doesn't even necessarily have to be the Ashes, just a memorable series with great performances.

Thanks.

Edit: as mentioned above I've been watching since 2017, so preferably nothing since then

Rig is too big and I've messed up

Now let me preface this by saying that I know I'm an idiot, I've already realised and I'm not blaming anyone.

The problem is, my rig is too big. I bought myself the GT1 Evo and the GT Omega Simulator Monitor Stand. It technically fits in my room, but it takes a big chunk of the room and I'm not sure I or anyone else in the house can function with it. The biggest issue is the monitor stand, which is too wide, and was the final straw for me. As I said I could probably make it work, but it's just too stressful to even think about.

Did I properly measure? No, it was a purchase I've wanted forever and wasn't something I was rationally thinking about. Not to mention, I'll be leaving for university either this year or next year, so spending tons of money on something I won't even use for more than a year obviously shows I wasn't thinking properly.

I'm not sure what to say, I guess the solution is to sell at a significantly reduced price. I guess it's just a life lesson for me when it comes to wasting money on things I can't have but want but I'm not exactly asking for pity.

The specs just for context:

GT1 Evo - RRP £349

GT Omega RS Pro - £169

GT Omega Simulator Monitor Stand - RRP £149

SimLab XP1 - RRP £350

So again, yes I am stupid and deserve this but I am disappointed it didn't work out.

Delivery and Response Time

Anyone have any luck getting a response from SimLab? I haven't heard anything from them since I ordered my GT1 Evo cockpit and I'm just worried it will take longer than expected or not at all as I've heard pretty poor things about delivery time from others.

Anyone predicting their marks?

I've been predicting my marks for some subjects, which probably isn't healthy. But I realised that I believe I only need 25/84 in politics paper 3 to get a B (I need an A technically but not sure that's possible atp and my uni seems to be very lenient with grades). Anyone using this as a coping mechanism for last exams because it might be the only thing that keeps me sane

Wingless Peugot

Is the wingless Peugot viable to drive at tracks that aren't Le Mans and Monza? It's good on straights and in the wet (somehow?), but is it stable enough at tracks like Imola, Silverstone, Spain etc? Wondering because with the new championship season coming up, obviously you can't change cars, so I'm wondering if the benefits of the wingless are worth it?

What does this mean?

Not sure if this is the right sub but what does this email actually mean? They gave me an offer in December and I firmed ages ago and have logged into the website for accommodation applications ages ago too. They've made it sound like I'm going to this Uni no matter what and that nothing else matters but I'm not sure about that.

7 wood is a cheat code

This has been said multiple times before, but let me say my piece.

Bought one the other day and played with it for the first time. If you struggle to consistently hit irons 4-6, buy a 7 wood. I am shit at this sport, but I immediately dropped 20 shots from last weekend. First shot with it, absolutely pured 180 yards. I am someone who can barely hit the driver 200 yards and struggle getting it down the fairway, but the 7 wood takes zero thought or effort, no thinking do I hit it down or up? It just goes where you want. Even when I had the pressure of being watched by a stranger.

Anyways, buy a 7 wood, it will save your life. I am convinced I will break 100 this weekend.

Ping G430 Max FYI!

Le Mans 2027

Sure this question has been asked billions of times, but still feel like I'm missing the answer. How should I do Le Mans next year? The plan is to drive from South England, camp near the circuit, have grandstand tickets etc. What's the best campsite with good facilities? If I get a grandstand ticket, where, and can I explore the rest of the track if I have one? I'd like to do that stuff for as cheaply as possible, thank you 🙏

What to do with Child Trust Fund?

This post was originally posted in r/UKPersonalFinance but someone advised me to post here too. Sorry if this isn't the right sub.

Obviously the premise is that I am a US citizen, but has never lived in the US. This information is probably important for any answers.

Hello, I turned 18 not long ago and someone I know reminded me of the CTF, which I completely forgot about. I received just under £900 and not got a clue about what I want to do with it so I feel like I need help. I've seen many threads like these but I don't think any answer has really satisfied me so may as well ask.

I've got a few options in my mind. Firstly, I could treat myself as a reward for finishing my A-Levels in June. Secondly, I could save towards retirement (I'd love to retire 'early') or towards a house for when I'm older (who knows if that will even be possible). Obviously since I'm an irrational teen I'd love to just spend it on things I enjoy or on a trip for myself. But feel like I would come to regret it maybe?

Thank you

FYI I am a US citizen and therefore very limited with what I can do, if I recall correctly. So just bare that in mind.

Thank you

Edit: I will add that I'm now aware that my CTF provider provides a lifetime ISA account, which gives a 25% bonus from the government for every deposit. But I am not sure if this is for me due to my citizenship...

Not sure if this counts as an RMT, but I think this question will apply to many people who TC'd during GW26 (I think?).

Is there a point in playing and captaining Haaland if you don't have the TC chip left for this GW? My reason for this question is that Haaland's EO was around 125%, and that's likely without many using their TC chip in anticipation for this GW. So could his EO be over 200% this GW? This would mean even if you play and captain Haaland, you would want him to fail. And as a result should people with no TC bother even playing him and find another third Man City player?
