is paying for a vpn with KYC monero worth it?

i’m thinking about switching to an obscure vpn and they accept monero. I’ve never dealt with crypto before so i dont wanna get scammed trying to get non-KYC coins. would buying monero normally and using it to pay for the obscure vpn worth the hassle or should i just use my credit card(maybe even a virtual card?) or alternatively just keep using the free vpn that comes with my suite.

will there be better data plans out before 2027?

I’d like to make the switch but the current 50gb data plan offered is horrendous. I’d go through that in 2 days MAX. i’m constantly streaming videos when out of the house. hard to justify paying twice the amount of main carriers who provide unlimited data for 50gb high speed -> 256kbps when busy.

purging old proton account to start new. how can i transfer my aliases?

basically the title. i’m aware that i can change the forward addresses and export the proton pass data to the new account but will i still own those aliases and be able to disable and control them from the new account? or would i lose control of the aliases and id have to block the alias if i want to stop receiving mail?also would deleting the old proton account delete the aliases?

how do you convince other people to use privacy focused messaging apps?

How can i convince people to download signal/simplex without sounding like a criminal? i got my gf to download SimpleX and try it out and the first thing she messaged me was “ this looks like a place for C Predators.” maybe it’s these apps fault? I think if these apps had a more attractive UI then people wouldn’t feel like they are using a criminal messaging hub. unfortunately people nowadays think privacy is a right only granted to criminals.

spacecraft technician vs spacecraft Engineer?

Is becoming a technician a better long term career for wanting to make spacecrafts? looking at the entry and mid level pay for both i was surprised to see how highly paid a&p techs in the space industry are. they were pretty much in par with engineers with similar years of Experience (excluding the higher pay ceiling of more senior level engineers). can someone explain why techs make as much as some engineers? techs in my opinion are also better insulated from AI unless we somehow make robots who can articulate and have the same motor control as humans in the next 30 years( which seems way less likely than AI replacing entry level jobs). i am halfway through my aerospace degree and im worried about entering a job field where entry level jobs are difficult to get due to how much AI will be able to be leveraged by top engineers, cutting out positions from average engineers and entry level spots.

is it worth getting a physics B.S. when you know you might do an engineering masters to pivot?

im an incoming third year physics major and being a physicist is my dream but the job market is really tough even for PHD physicists. my really close second is aerospace engineering (the space kind). i’m thinking about switching my major to aerospace engineering and possibly doing a masters in aerospace focusing on plasma/electric propulsion or completing my physics degree and doing a masters in aerospace also on propulsion.

on one hand i think it’s better to switch now and save money on potentially not needing a masters and being able to get a job in aerospace right out of college. Instead of doing physics and then having to spend tens of thousands of dollars and time on a masters to reach the same goal. But at the same time I just love knowledge and i came into physics wanting answers to the deepest questions of the universe.

How many of you wish you did engineering instead?

can transfer switch majors more than once in the same year?

i’m an incoming junior transfer and id like to switch to my back up major that’s not selective and then in winter apply to a selective engineering major.

which college major is best to work in space propulsions

forgive me if i sound ignorant, im just trying to figure out what’s best. it sounds like alternative technologies to chemical propulsion is the future so if thats the case, would an electrical engineering major be better than aero/mech for electrical propulsion or nuclear engineering / physics for fusion/fission propulsion. looking at the courses for aero engineers at my school they don’t take classes related to nuclear physics so how would they be able to work in nuclear propulsion? same with mech E’s. see what i’m getting at? i feeel like the future of propulsion technology is out of the current education training of mechanical and aero education at the bachelor’s level at least.

im currently about to start my third year as a physics major in the US but looking to pivot to aerospace, specifically propulsion, but i’d be happy with anything but gnc lol. my school (UCSD) also offers a structural engineering with an aerospace concentration.

i should mention that no matter my major i plan to pursue a masters in aero and further pursue propulsion. so would would an aero, mech, structure undergrad be able to pursue these chemical alternative masters? or would physics/EE be a better base?

Is it difficult to switch to engineering as a transfer student ?

i am an incoming physics major transfer from a local community college. i’d like to switch to aerospace engineering. i’ve seen the 4 point system and based on that, i have 4 points. and i’d only need to take MAE 8 (matlab) to have all the course requirements done. i’ve aced what ucsd considers ass the physics 2 series and i’ve aced all my math classes up to ODE and linear algebra. it also wouldn’t hold me back from graduating as id have to take the physics 4 series anyways as a transfer which already puts me a year behind.

would getting a minor in the the field of the masters program i’m trying to get into help my chances?

i’m a physics major, starting his junior year this fall, who wants to get into aerospace and it may be too late to switch majors as aerospace engineering/mechanical are selective majors. if i get denied i’m thinking of applying for a minor in aerospace engineering and getting my physics electives more into computational physics and classes more helpful in engineering than pure physics. the minor would show grad admissions that i had interest in the field and strengthen my overall story and im not just a physics graduate who couldn’t find a job. it would also serve to complete some pre requisite engineering classes so that i wouldn’t have to play as big of a catch up and also familiarize myself with engineering software so im not having to learn that on my own while doing my masters degree.

im also thinking of instead of a minor, trying to joint an engineering lab

is this a good plan?

is an aerospace engineering minor worth it ?

i just finished my second year of my physics major and i’ve changed my mind about my career goals and want to fall back to my back up of aerospace engineering. i’m not sure if i’ll be able to switch majors since it’s capped. in the event that im not able to, would a minor that’s carefully specialized in one subfield i.e propulsion, gnc etc be good or would i still need to jump to a masters in engineering to be valuable to employers. if not maybe just doing the minor to help cover prerequisites for the aerospace masters.

looking for input from professionals in the field.

looking for a tablet that has AMAZING battery and LTE in America

i’d like to upgrade my 12.in M1 ipad pro. the only thing i use it for is hand writing notes and homework for college. i’d prefer 13 inch or bigger but it’s not a deal breaker.

i’m at school from like 9am to midnight. and my ipad doesn’t last nearly long enough.

i’ve had a hard time finding other tablets besides ipads and the galaxy s10 fe that have cellular in america. i wish one plus pad 4 was sold in america and had cellular. i’ve seen the honor tablets but they dont have cellular either.

any help is much appreciated.

how much of prague is the gothic dream city that’s portrayed online ?

i’ve tried my hardest to find out on my own already. i’ve tried looking up “non touristy prague” on tiktok, watching drone footage of the city on youtube, and looking up the different districts of the city and watching walking tours on youtube but it’s hard to get a sense of how much of prague is like old town. if a gothic fantasy city is what i’m looking for. will prague meet that dream or is it more like here’s a little gothic part of town then the rest is like a normal european city.

what are the chances of landing a job in prague as an american physicists/aerospace engineer

greetings everyone, i’m currently a third year physics major. after i get my bachelor’s in physics planning to do a phd in physics or a masters in aerospace engineering specialization in astronautics.

I’d love to move to prague but what are my chances of landing a role with either of these positions? if the chances are good then i’d start learning czech now to be prepared.
