65 pounds down since Christmas!
I went from 220-155! (5'1")
I posted earlier, and a few people suggested to post a full body picture. I had to dig deep for the first one because I took very few pictures when I was that big. I feel amazing!

220 pounds to 155
ETA: I made another post showing more of my body. Check it out https://www.reddit.com/r/intermittentfasting/s/obefjaVK5r
I recently lost over 50 pounds in 6 months (216-163). I decided to allow myself to have one week where I could eat what I wanted, as long as I wasn't going overboard with calories. This was during a stressful time for me, and the next few weeks after were especially stressful.
Things are a lot better now, but I spent the next 2 months just maintaining my weight instead of trying to lose it. I was still eating healthy and exercising, but eating more. I lost a little motivation to get back into it for a few weeks. Part of it was that I don't feel as insecure about my body as I did in the beginning, which was a big thing that motivated me.
My motivation is back now though! I know I'd regret it if I quit losing weight, and I want it to be over with as soon as possible (as long as I'm doing it in a healthy way). I am ready to look and feel my best! I did 3 muscle workouts this week, and 3 light cardio workouts. I've been eating a lot of whole foods and avoiding alcohol. This is amazing, and I'm glad my motivation is back.

I (28f) work at a Mexican restaurant, with this sweet lady in her 70's. She only works there to get out of the house. She enjoys talking to others, and is very healthy and active for her age. Everyone there calls her Grandma as a work nickname. We all love working with her.
We have salespeople that come by the restaurant every once in a while to sell homemade Mexican food, some foods that can be difficult to find at local restaurants even. This specific sales lady sells a lot of tamales. Grandma was eating some sweet tamales in the back. She offered me a bite, so I took a small one. We and my work best friend briefly started talking about tamales, when Grandma (one of the few non-hispanic employees, including myself) says "I don't like the outer shell on tamales." I didn't know what to say in the moment, but my work best friend kindly told her that you're not supposed to eat them. We both laughed, but in a loving way, of course, we couldn't help it. So funny, it made my entire week. Thinking about it still makes me smile.
It was really hard, but I did it!
I originally tried to quit in the summer of last year, but struggled. I got to the point where I wouldn't buy a vape and could easily go without if I wasn't around them, but everyone I was close to vaped and I would puff off of theirs. This was a big struggle for me becasue I saw these people everyday.
Something changed in April though. I decided that I was going quit vaping nicotine and THC at once. I wasn't successful at quitting THC, but I still did cut down significantly, which I'm proud of. I currently consume less than half of what I did before. BUT, I was completely successful at quitting nic, and quitting that is better imo, at least for me.
I'm still around people who vape, almost every day, and I don't even think about hitting theirs now, even when it's in front of me. This is huge for me. I feel so much better, physically and mentally, and the best part is, I'm not constantly air-hungry. I always had shortness of breathe when I vaped, and it was awful, the worst part about it.
Good luck to everyone else out there trying to quit. You can do it!!
We regretted later, but at least we have a funny memory that we still talk about, at least 20 years later!
I was greeting him at my place. The lyrics "Hold me, love me, hold me, love me" specifically were playing as the hug started. It was a tight, passionate hug, and I couldn't think of a better song to be playing at the time, and he agreed. It lasted between 30 seconds to a minute.
I would also like to mention that I was named after a Beatles song, and so was my mom, and now my daughter (but I'm not saying which ones for privacy reasons). I've been listening to the Beatles since I was a kid, and especially that song. It made it feel almost even more personal.
Now I think of this moment every time I listen to 8 Days a Week.
We are birthday twins! I am 28 today, and my boyfriend is 32 today. Happy birthday to us!
I(28f) recently changed my life for the better. I got a good paying job, a reliable car after years of using public transportation, started taking way better care of my health and even lost 50 pounds, got an amazing boyfriend, but yet I have felt more anxious than ever the past few months. It is absolutely miserable.
For context, throughout my life, I have always dealt with some kind of stress, and I have dealt with anxiety for many years. I grew up in a critical home with frequent yelling, and moved out almost instantly after turning 18. I lived by myself and took a cab to my very stressful job. I have also been in a few bad relationships, and have dealt with addictions (nicotine, caffeine, thc, and a little alcohol. I kicked all of these addictions in just the past few years, but still struggle with thc, but I have cut down significantly).
My life is better than it ever has been. I have a nice car to drive, I'm significantly healthier, I have the best boyfriend and friends I have ever had, and I have an amazing job. But as of the past few months, my anxiety has been so bad that even going to work has been miserable because I have to fight through anxiety all day. My job isn't even that stressful, and I have really good reviews. I have even had to miss some work partially because of my anxiety. I can't live like this any longer.
And in case you're wondering, my anxiety is mainly based on upsetting others or making a mistake on the job. It's also partially driving, but not as much. I also overthink a lot, especially about people being upset with me.
Has anyone experienced similar? Can this have effected my nervous system some how?
Just 3 years ago I (25f at the time) would stay up late drinking and smoking weed on work nights. I would go to work on 4 hours of sleep and with a hangover. I worked 12-hour shifts at this time too
Now at 28 years old, I only drink in moderation and almost never will if I have to work the next day. And when I do drink at all, it's a lot less than before. I don't want to feel like crap and have more anxiety the next day anymore. I also limit how much THC I consume because it can mess with REM sleep, and give me anxiety the next day if I have too much before bed.
And to add to this, I also quit nicotine vapes, started eating healthier, lost 50 pounds, and am now building muscle. I used to eat a lot of processed foods and never exercise. Now I'm doing vigorous exercise sessions at least 3 times a week, and eat almost all whole foods.
Feeling healthy and happy all the time beats a night of drinking by far. I have accomplished so much these past few years, more than I have even mentioned in this post. I am genuinely proud of myself for deeply improving my life and health.
I was about 9 at this time. My parents thought that scene was so funny that they had it as their ringtone. I had never seen the movie, just heard that part from my parents' phones.
For several months, maybe even a year, I thought he was saying "That guy and a little car." I didn't realize until my mom showed me the scene from the movie
"That guy and a little car" 🚘🎵
I'm 27f. I haven't worn underwear in many years except for on the heaviest day of my period only because I prefer pads on that day and night. I go commando for comfort and health reasons. It is far more comfortable, my skin can breathe a lot better, and I even get less infections and UTI's. My pants aren't as dirty as most would assume because you naturally produce less discharge when you quit wearing it, and on the days I produce more I keep a pantyliner on the crotch of my pants. Ama!
I recently had a bad infection, and he drove me an hour away to the ER, stayed there with me the whole time which was 8 hours, missing a day of work, and then helped me clean my house the next day because I haven't had the energy to do it lately. So thankful for him! He's such an amazing person, and so attractive inside and out.
It really wasn't bad! This also isn't the first time I've done this. I have one of those k-cups that are refillable, and I forgot to take it out before brewing my green tea. I just put a tea bag in the mug and let the hot water run over it to make the tea. Instead, very dilated coffee ran over it.
Thinking of switching to a different coffee maker to avoid microplastics, if you have any suggestions.

Yesterday I was sleep deprived and burnt out due to being really busy at home and work the past several weeks. I had a table ask for 3 to-go boxes. I give them the boxes, then one asked for a to-go cup for her drink. Instead of the cup, I brought 3 more boxes and left to do something else before they realized and could say something. About 5 minutes later I came back to the table and they explained they just needed a cup. I got it for them, and joked around that they technically could've used a box for their drink, and put it on a plate when they got home. They laughed and were pretty cool about, and tipped good. I laughed to myself about it later. Just a silly mistake.

As a little girl, I loved canopy beds. Growing up, my parents didn't have as much money as I currently do, plus I had several siblings, so the most I got was a small canopy that hung from the ceiling, with a homemade bedframe that couldn't support the big canopies I loved. I still loved the canopy I had though, even though it fell from the ceiling several times. I didn't keep it long as a result. My parents did the best they could, and I'm thankful for that.
Yesterday, I finished putting together my 4-year old's brand new canopy bed! It's one of those with the frame built for big canopies. The canopy itself is colorful, with a mix of pink, blue, and purple, surrounding her entire bed. It also came with star- shaped lights that hang from the top! And as bonus, it has a shelf on the headboard for all her stuffed animals. I also bought her a new, girly comforter that features strawberries, bows, hearts, and flowers, all things she likes.
My daughter loves her new bed so much she was even hugging it. Seeing her so happy with something I always wanted as a child made me happy. I am so thankful I am able to do this for her. Seeing this bed gives me nostalgia
TW: suicide
My dad (55) has been through a few very traumatic events in his life time. I (27f) don't want to go into too much detail about them, but he never got proper help for his mental health, and he suppressed his emotions, sometimes by drinking. He's the kind of person who avoids confronting difficult emotions, and tries to brush them off.
This past year, he has been at his worst. He has developed severe depression, anxiety, and PTSD. He can't work, drive, or even handle going into a small store anymore. I have never seen him like this. He used to be happy and making jokes all the time. He was hilarious. He had a job, and would often go out on his days off, taking me to fun places. That version of him is now gone, sadly. All he does now is stay home all the time, reliving what he calls "a nightmare in his head" every day.
My step mom says he doesn't see a point in living anymore, and he has made a few suicidal comments over the years, one time mentioning taking a bunch of pills. I am genuinely worried that he may actually do it one day. It would be so hard for me to lose him. I didn't get enough time with him as a kid due to not living with him, so time with him is important to me. As of now, I haven't even seen him in at least 6 months because he doesn't want me and my child to see him doing so badly. I used to see him every week. I don't even know what to do anymore.
He has been getting help, but the progress has been so slow.
I hold onto things forever because what if I use it one day? Certain areas of my apartment were so cluttered. It has 3 bedrooms, and one of those bedrooms was just filled with stuff. Not like mountains of stuff that you see in Hoarders, you could still easily move around the room, but still enough stuff to keep me from doing anything else with the room. A lot of the stuff I haven't even touched in years. It was pretty much a storage room I still had stuff from when I was 15 years old, like clothes and jewelry (I'm 27 now).
Just looking at the huge mess of things to go through stressed me out. I was sick of having so much stuff just wasting space. Today, I spent several hours going through that room. I filled 10 trash bags and 2 decent size boxes with stuff to get rid of. I threw some of it away, and donated other things.
Some of the stuff I got rid of had some negative energy to it. One example is I found something that was a gift from a toxic ex. In a way, getting rid of this stuff felt like getting rid of a little bit of the past. Some things I got rid of just because of the memories behind them. It feels like I'm just moving forward now and only keeping things in my house that make me happy. I can also use that room as well!
