the saka was my fav!!! sweet & smoky, i’ve always been a fan of bbq sauce so this one won my heart. my partner dumped practically half of the lemon&herb all over her plate.

visited canterbury to see jodie comer in prima facie. decided to hit up the refectory kitchen that was two minutes from our hotel!!! their homemade hashbrown might have been one of the best things i’ve ever eaten. i’ll have to try more blood pudding to give more of an opinion on it.

healthy-ish dinner!!

inspired by the georgian restaurant UGRUZINA that i can’t visit so i figured i’d try and make it myself

beef kofta with sumac onions, quinoa, blistered jalapeños and yogurt topped with a chili paste i made with thai chilis

made the missus a mustard-grilled burger with pepper jack, pickles, and sauerkraut with homemade fried pickles and threw in some battered french fries i got from sam’s

how do we feel about kraut on burgers????

made hollandaise for the first time! unfortunately, i did not like it. made bearnaise for the steak as well. you’d think with butter being my favorite food, i’d love it but NOPE.

BUT!!!

i decided to make breakfast for dinner for the family because we were supposed to go to first watch the other day but i was running late because i wanted to lay around. so i wanted to make it up to them!!

made sausage gravy for biscuits i had in the freezer from maple street biscuit company, cheesy grits, copycat million dollar bacon, poached eggs with hollandaise, smoked salmon and pan-fried asparagus.

who can eat breakfast foods any time during the day???

how does everyone feel about culver’s???? first time trying it on the way back home to nc from florida and it was by far the best burger i’ve had in ages!!!!

shoutout to chris(???) at our outback in town!!! he hooked the family up with all the toy animals 🥹 AND we guessed his sign first try and we showed all the love for this taurus.

also yes, i ordered all of the steak sauces they offer and keep hot sauce in my bag and additionally brought kinder seasoning in a toy capsule. also, that’s a fresh habanero on my plate ☺️ where my spicy girls at????

it took maybe 2hours 30mins+ to make family dinner

does that sound too long???

marinated steak and salmon
chopped parsley, shallots, garlic
roasted tomatoes
whipped ricotta
threw a bread dip together with white beans
sliced and toasted sourdough
made white wine sauce for squid ink pasta
cooked off the salmon and steak
tossed salad in a blueberry-forward dressing

i’m known to be a grandma in the kitchen with how i take the whole day to make food but i feel like i think i did pretty well in my time management this go around
