I don’t think I have it in me for round 2 😭

Finished my first year with 34 credits completed and a 4.0 GPA. It’s looking like I’ll be taking Statics, Circuit Analysis, Calc 3, and Chem as the main potatoes this semester. I'm 22 and I honestly feel like I'm too old for this already lol.

I’m burnt out man, I took Calc 2 and Physics 2 over the summer and it whooped my ass (Still managed to get the A’s tho). I can’t do this shit anymore but I need money to live, and my parents can’t work much longer. They have no retirement funds, so I want to support them. I gotta push through, but shit maaaan, I’m losing my soul 🥀🫩

Bought the TP4 to upgrade from CPP2, having doubts.

I’m not sure I can pull off the 28L as an EDC. What do you guys think, is it too big on my back?

Brand new 15 Pro through AppleCare!

Lately my phone has been acting up. I called up Apple and ended up getting an express replacement. Still a great device! 💯

I built a custom Trekpak in the Nanuk 935 for the T1

I didn’t like the pluck foam the Nanuk came with, so I followed an online guide to make a DIY TrekPak, and I am super happy with the results.

It cost me around $50 in materials and a couple of hours of work, but it was well worth it. Everything is super secure and I can fit all my peripherals. Highly recommend!

Do any of y’all do this when traveling with a coat?

I just zip it up around my personal item and carry on. Is this weird?

My time as a gamer is over

As I write this post, I'm sitting here looking at my PC with an RTX 5090, and I have zero desire to even turn it on. For a long time, gaming was my main escape, but now, staring at my monitor just feels completely empty.

I'm 22 and heading into my second year studying engineering, and my whole perspective is shifting fast. We weren't built to sit in front of a screen all day. Seeing how fast time moves and watching my parents get older made me realize I need to start putting that effort back into myself.

It feels like a now-or-never moment. I want real, tangible goals. I want to build a business, get my own place, travel, learn languages, and get in shape. More than anything, I want to step out of my comfort zone, work on my social skills, make new friends, and become genuinely comfortable in my own skin.

Ten years from now, I know I'll look back and thank myself for making this choice today. I'll always cherish the memories of playing my DS as a kid, but it's time to move on and build a real life.

How often does Aer update their stuff?

I’ve been wanting to pick up a Travel Kit and Gym Duffel but I don’t really like how the interior is a different color than my TP4 and Day Sling 4. Anyone know the how often aer refreshes their lineups?

Upgrade from CPP2 24L to TP4 28L?

I’m currently using the Aer CPP2 (24L) but thinking about switching to the TP4 Small (28L) for a little extra capacity. I’m a second-year engineering student and need one bag for campus, the gym, and my pilot flight bag. I also travel a lot and plan to pair it with a Briggs & Riley 22" Baseline carry-on, so it needs to work well as a personal item. Mostly trying to figure out if the 28L feels too bulky for daily carry and if it still fits comfortably under an airplane seat as a passenger. Thanks!

Anyone else can’t believe how old we’ve become?

I swear I feel like it was 2016 and I was in 6th grade like yesterday. I’m only in my first year of college and feel so behind. Wtf am I doing with my life 💀🥀

The new iPad mini likely won’t have 120hz

The rumored foldable iPhone is expected to be around the same size as the iPad mini when unfolded. Because of this, it’s highly likely Apple will keep the mini at 60Hz to tempt power users into buying the new foldable instead.

Also, historically, iPhones transitioned to OLED panels before they ever got ProMotion. I wouldn't be surprised if the iPad mini follows that exact same pattern

What does it even mean to be Jewish when you don't share any of the values, beliefs, or interests?

Raised in an Orthodox community, I never really felt like I had a place. I was forced to take Judaic studies in yeshiva, but the subjects didn't engage me, and I ended up dropping out. While I love my family, the holidays and customs hold no appeal for me anymore. My extended family is also very politically vocal and talks about Israel constantly, which honestly doesn't resonate with me either.

Whenever people ask if I'm Jewish, I say yes, though I lack any real connection to it. I'm an atheist. Still, I guess I want to be proud of my lineage. My passions are just drastically different from those of the people I was raised around. I spend my time focused on engineering and physics, calisthenics and swimming, aviation, learning foreign languages, and dancing. In contrast, the people in my community discuss this weeks parsha, bar mitzvahs, kiddush at the shul, and real estate. Topics I frankly couldn't care less about.

In my youth, it seemed the most crucial thing in life was a connection to God. Because I lack that belief, I feel completely untethered from Judaism. Even a recent trip to Israel didn't feel special at all; I couldn't wait to get back home to the US. When people call it our "true homeland," I simply can't relate. I didn’t like being there.

I'm not sure if something is wrong with me, but what does it even mean to be Jewish if I'm not religious and ignore the traditions? I have no desire to seek out Jewish friends, marry a Jewish woman, or live in a Jewish neighborhood because my values are so far removed from my upbringing. I don't want kids, and I don't go to shul.

I'm not a self-hating Jew; I just feel like I don't belong…

Struggling to stay motivated

I swear a professor completely makes or breaks a class for me.

In Physics 1, I had an incredible professor who was encouraging, supportive, and clear when explaining tough concepts. I actually enjoyed studying for her exams because she was such a great teacher.

Now I am taking Physics 2, and the professor is so mundane and terrible at explaining the material. I sit in lecture for hours without learning a single thing, only to go home and teach everything to myself from scratch. Mandatory attendance feels like a complete waste of time when the lectures provide zero value.

It is not just me either. Everyone I talk to in class feels completely lost, like we are just plugging numbers into formulas without actually understanding the underlying concepts.

As someone planning to major in Electrical Engineering, this experience is making me rethink everything. Electricity and Magnetism feels so overwhelming right now, and I am starting to second guess my abilities. I really wish I had my original professor for this course because my motivation is dropping by the day.

I’ve been buying replacement erasers for it but it’s a pain in the ass to keep changing it. Any recommendations?

Not sure how much longer I can hold out

My 15 Pro is my only Apple device with the smallest storage tier and I’m getting worried I’ll max it out this year unless I get rid of it in September. Should I wait for the 20? 🥀

How’s my card setup at 22?

I’m team travel for the most part since I like transferring to JAL and ANA to go to Japan.

Bilt Palladium: 3x Catch All, Rent, Cellphone Protection, and Semi-Annual Hotel Credit

Amex Gold: 4x Dining and Groceries (I like munchies so I use all the credits :3)

Amex BBP: 2x Catch All, Tax Payments

Chase Ritz Carlton: 3x Travel, Free Night, J.P Morgan CS, Lounge Access, Primary Rental Coverage, Great Travel Protections, Return Protection, Roadside Assistance, and easy to use travel credit. My favorite card by far!

(I can also transfer Marriott points at a 3:1 rate to both ANA and JAL!)

Prime Visa: 5% Amazon Addiction 👹

Citi Custom Cash: 5% Gas

With Citi adding JAL as a partner I might try out some of their travel cards too but their CS makes me hesitant 😅

I never would have thought I’d be paying $1,270 in annual fees but I really like these cards so I’ll be keeping them and churning a sub every now and then.

Anyone know if there is a 4k 120hz OLED model coming?

I want a portable display to be able to take with me on trips with these specs. Haven’t been able to find one yet.

My trusty duo as an engineering student

Using the TI-84 for pure math classes and the TI-30X for all engineering classes. I had to import the TI-30X from the Netherlands as it’s not sold here in the US. Totally worth it though, works amazing :)
