Trees are able to regulate the climate by breaking up wind, holding soil in place, cooling the air via evaporation, and absorbing hydrophobic soot and other particulates from the atmosphere.
If we were to flood the desert in Egypt with seawater, would this give us a second chance? The impact of evaporation in a dry climate, combined with the thermal shedding into space from condensation in the upper atmosphere, should lead to a global cooling effect, but it's difficult to say how large of an impact this would have. If this effect sheds more thermal energy from the planet due to water's high heat capacity and phase transition energy, compared to light reflecting off of the bright desert sand straight back into space, then I think this option is seriously worth considering...
If desertification actually has the opposite effect on a global scale, at least in terms of the amount of the sun's energy reflected into space, would something like the Aral Sea drying up actually be beneficial to the global climate? What if we did stuff like this on purpose, slowly and one at a time?
I have ADHD-PI, so I'm often a bit of a space cadet, off in my own little world. The problem is that with weed I would dissociate, and not necessarily remember the daydreams, which amplified the sense of disorientation in a way that lead to paranoia.
I genuinely feel as though I can willpower myself to remain present and cognizant at all times with sertraline. It's different from the Adderall focus, and they're fantastic when combined together due to the serotonin (euphoric) effect of the amphetamine being dampened with continuous usage. It creates a clean separation between the norepinephrine and dopamine floods of conscious experience, with serotonin being taken care of regardless of wakefulness.
The tradeoff for increased cognizance comes at a decreased level of control regarding ability to climax sexually. Like getting over the edge feels impossible sometimes. The "let involuntary action proceed" signal feels as though it's all pooped out.
Interesting observation I've made. Zoloft causes continuous motion to feel faster, similar to weed, but it's consistently buffed, rather than a temporary boost in exhilaration. Driving feels faster.
It gave me meaning. When I only used Adderall and coffee, I searched for meaning with the focus I was given. I couldn't move past the purposelessness of it all. I felt as though I couldn't find meaning, no matter how hard I tried. With Zoloft, the meaning came effortlessly. My goal was to snuggle up and get to comfy sleep at night. The journey was my life, rather than internally hashing out hypotheticals.
I'm really not sure what this all means. Are SSRIs Big Pharma (TM)'s solution to the God hole? If so, it fucking works. Even now that I've hit a balance and don't get the euphoric side effects of this med, it's nice to have this weird little side-quest satisfied. I just wish I could "break my brain" easier when I'm tryna get fucked up. Weed is less effective, and acid barely does shit. Ethanol is a very dirty high.
A number of it's effects can be attributed to GABA-A agonism along with NMDA antagonism, creating a euphoric combination of dissociation and disinhibition.
If this can be replicated without the inherent risks associated with ethanol, that's perfect. Using a substance combo like this wouldn't necessarily be a treatment for alcoholism, but it would be harm reduction. Why isn't this being researched?
