Parsnips, Chinese broccoli, enoki, salmon. I also like to drink the water that drips to the bottom of the steamer from the parsnips.

Wanting to book this for a birthday but would like to see some more reviews if food, service etc
Any restaurant food that isn’t some kind of clear soup or steamed looking dish is still a massive fear food for me.
I have a behaviour of >!washing my vegetables in bowls of hot water in restaurants to get rid of the sauce.!< It’s super embarrassing but the feeling of consuming all the oil would be even worse. I just wish I could get past this
Chinese broccoli, butter beans with sautéed grape tomatoes, spring onion, swede, egg whites, enoki mushrooms
Does the gas and bloating from eating a lot of sulfuric veg like beans and broccoli/garlic onions ever go away? My gas also smells so bad where I have to actively avoid people with a large radius when I feel like I’m about to fart.
It is so difficult to eat out and eat mostly plant based. Restaurants are all so unhealthy bc everyone loves meat or refined carbs. Even if you go to a vegetarian or vegan restaurant the meals are 90% refined carbs or some vegetable oil fried thing with like 2-3 pieces of vegetables. When I go to restaurants and ask for a side of plain steamed vegetables I’m also often refused, at least at Chinese places. Which is ridiculous. I just want a meal with a decent amount of vegetables. I know there are veg stir fry options at Thai and Chinese places but they are absolutely covered in oil. Also yes I know I can just make it at home which I do but that’s not always reasonable bc I go out a lot for social activities. Just ranting bc I actually like eating mostly veggies and wished the rest of society did too
I bought a new stainless steel pot from ikea and I thought I washed it properly with detergent and a sponge and hot water. I cooked some oatmeal this morning and it turned out grey… I ate a little bit anyway but then changed my mind and didn’t eat the rest. Is the food being grey poisonous? I’m worried
The pot
Steaming Chinese broccoli can be hit or miss for me and I can’t figure out why
Sometimes the stalks are very tender and sweet and juicy then other times they’ll be dry and crunchy? I’m trying to figure out if it’s just a produce issue and how to pick better stalks. I’ve tried steaming on lower heat for less time and the stalks are still dry sometimes.
Same for regular broccoli- sometimes it comes out very moist and tender (not overcooked though) other times dry and not very flavourful. Is it just bad produce?
Several health government websites recommend you to eat up to 6 serves of grains preferably whole grain per day which is a lot. Meanwhile fruits and veg combined is only 5 per day. At least for my country’s website.
What do grains have that legumes and vegetables dont? If you can get all your nutrients and fibre from the second two. Is there any downside to just eating vegetables and legumes?
Could someone please recommend some amaranth recipes savoury? I’ve looked on google and there’s barely any savoury recipes, most are sweet idk why. I found one Mexican bean amaranth stew and that was about it
Do you bother explaining the way you eat to other people? Specifically when you are eating together at a meal time, out at a restaurant or at home. Depending on my mood sometimes it’s okay i can give a fake answer with no stress other times I just wish people would shut up and I’ll feel on edge for the rest of the meal.
I’ll often order strange things from restaurants like a whole plate of steamed veg, asking for sauce to be on the side, avoiding certain meats etc. people will ask me stuff like oh do you normally order that dish with no sauce or oh are you a pescetarian? A vegetarian? And it’s just so exhausting bc my real response would be no I’m not I’m ordering this because I perceive this meal to be less oily/fatty therefore less calories. Of course I don’t say that and I usually just laugh awkwardly and go like oh no I just wanted to eat this haha. That’s the thing I don’t even know what to say. It’s the fact that I don’t like lying and am also bad at it but I’m having to lie all the time when I say these things which is exhausting
Could anyone suggest anything I could say to other people in a way that is not defensive or aggressive and is also easy and not mentally exhausting for me to think about saying it?
A lot of artists seem to hate ChatGPT. I have a friend who is an architect and digital artist and likes to draw story and dnd characters. They are very against ChatGPT in any use for art or work and very much favour original work creation. I am an artist too and find that chatgpt is great for inspiration in creating my own artworks. Like using an image on google for reference but now I can make that reference whatever I want. I asked them what they thought about that and they said it’s better to just use your brain to come up with something original and that ChatGPT is unethical bc it is trained on other people’s art.
For any artists out there what are your thoughts
There is no description anywhere if it’s pearled or whole. I also can’t find this brand online
I love malatang bc you get to choose what you want, I wish there were more restaurants like that. And when there’s lots of fresh veggies I get lots of those. There’s lots of various mushrooms in this bowl including enoki, oyster mushroom, shimeji, wood ear fungus. Also broccoli, carrots, bok choy. I chose the mushroom broth and it was v tasty
Does anybody else get extreme pain in their toes in winter? I looked it up and apparently it’s called chillblains. I’ve literally never had this before until now. It was so painful last night I couldn’t sleep and had to take Panadol. And I rarely ever need to take Panadol. I wonder if it’s because I stand a lot (I don’t like sitting) that my circulation to my feet is getting cut off. It gets worse if my feet heat up too fast but I don’t know how to how to warm them more slowly especially when I go to bed I’m covered in several blankets trapping heat bc I’m so fuckin cold. Please help lol
I mashed up some soft tofu with oats, added cinnamon, vanilla extract, honey, ginger, nutmeg, cloves. Then topped with Greek yoghurt, goji berries, microwaved pumpkin, walnuts, hemp, sunflower seeds.
Super yummy it’s been a meal I love making recently. I’ve been trying to figure out how to incorporate more tofu in my meals so this has been great
Why are some whole grains not popularly sold in stores if they’re meant to be so good for you?
I’m trying to eat more whole grains and I looked it up a list online and honestly just got overwhelmed bc there’s just so many options half of which I’ve never heard of and wouldn’t be able to buy locally
Examples from that list are sorghum, kamut, spelt, wheat berries, farro, teff.
And bc I’ve never tried them I have no idea how they taste
I like porridge like texture of things for grains like rice oats and quinoa.
Could anyone recommend me any other grains that i could make into a nice porridge?
I got a clear vegetarian soup. How would I estimate the calories from oils from getting on the ingredients if I didn’t drink the broth? It didn’t feel super oily- there was a very thin layer of oil on the surface
