Hey all

I have a bird of paradise that's about 7feet tall and probably 100lbs. We moved it from central WA to Seatac area a few months ago in a uhaul trailer and it has been dying ever since and we don't know how to fix it

We're moving again to Kirkland and need to move it there. I do not have a truck with a bed and cannot afford to rent one or a trailer. Any ideas how to move this?

Howzit. My wife and I are moving to Kirkland in a few days, hoping for a crash course on Kirkland. What do I need to know? What should we check out? What are some ways to get involved in the community? What are some ways to make friends? Best cheap eats? Best bakery? Best cool stuff we wouldn't necessarily find quickly on our own?

I'm starting a position as sales/estimator/consultant for a general contractor - end to end construction. So literally anything - residential & commercial but probably 90% residential

My job is to basically go out to leads' homes, figure out what they want to be done, what they need to be done, create an estimate, and close business.

I have a very strong background in B2C sales but don't know much about construction, and know almost nothing about estimating. I've worked sales for multiple one call close home improvement companies - mostly windows, and gutters. For those I typed in measurements into the company software and it spit out a price.

Other than that my construction knowledge is limited. I want to learn as much as possible as fast as possible. What resources should I look into? What videos should I watch? What learning apps or courses should I take? I'm typically pretty good at what I set my mind to and can learn quick

We watched Project Hail Mary last night and I enjoyed it for 2 reasons:

1. it told an engaging story, rather than just being an action movie with guns and explosions

2. the visuals and cinematography were beautiful

Not fully moved in yet so kitchen isn't up to par. Where are the spots to get cheap food? Seems like no matter where I go, it's $15-20 per person even for fast food like McDonald's or Chick-fil-A

What are your go to spots to get the hunger to subside? Doesn't have to be a full meal either. To give you an example, IF a costco was in town, then a great answer would be "hey if you go to costco you cash get a hotdogs for $1.50"

Every time I open the app, it takes literally 3-5 minutes before it will properly load and allow me to click buttons or order. Typically have to force close the app 1-3 times during this process

Typically goes: open the app, white screen with Gold M for 60-90 seconds. Then it'll show whatever promotional pop up. Then it will freeze again more often then not. Force close. Open app. White screen with M for 60-90 seconds, then the app typically finally loads

This has been a problem for years. My app is up to date. My phone is up to date. I do not have any problems like this with any other app on my phone. Ever.

Anyone else deal with this?

How much of this job is "dirty" or has exposure to mold, animal feces, etc? How often are you crawling through attics? How much sun exposure - is it mostly outside or are you just outside for the measure then inside pitching and demo'ing?

Trying to figure out if I want to take a job that's 60% roofing 40% windows/baths or if I should take a job that's just windows. I have some health issues and am Immunocompromised.

Moved to NCW in 2023. I really enjoy living in the mountains, but may have to move closer to Seattle due to potential divorce.

I previously lived in Waikiki and enjoyed living in a highrise in walkable city with city & water & mountain views out my windows.

I no longer party and can't drink, so that doesn't motivate me. That being said, I don't want to live in a family area where I have to drive everywhere (no to sammamish). Looking for kind of an in between - immediately walkable yet also driveable. Or bike able - for an ebike. Big foodie. Big on beautiful scenery whether it be nature, the sound, or beautiful infrastructures

What are some places I should be looking? Doesn't have to be in Seattle city limits

I've worked home improvement at various massive national companies (windows, gutters, etc) but never roofs and never for a small company

This company is basically the owner, his wife, maybe a handful of other people. Looks like they've been in business a year or two. They have a legitimate physical location with branding and a small fleet of trucks with branding (newer f250s). I don't believe they've had a dedicated sales person prior to this, based off reviews I think he or his wife or one of the installers was the one doing estimates.

What should I expect? What would be some good questions to ask.
