I met little Starlight on Saturday when I saw him near the streets. Someone nearby told me that he had been thrown there.
I looked around for his momma, hoping she was somewhere nearby, but I couldn’t find her. With the busy road and the danger of him being hit by a vehicle, I knew I couldn’t just leave him there.
So I rescued him. 🤍 Now, Starlight is safe, warm, and finally has someone to care for him. Welcome to safety, sweet boy. 🥺🤍 You are safe now.

Today is the last day that our rescued dogs and cats have food.
Tomorrow, I honestly don't know what I will give them. The bowls that are usually filled with food may be empty, and that thought breaks my heart.
Every one of these animals was rescued from abandonment, hunger, abuse, or life on the streets. They have already endured so much, and I never want them to experience hunger again. Yet today, I find myself with nothing left for tomorrow.

With a heavy heart, we share that our beloved Jouls has crossed the rainbow bridge. 💔
We rescued Jouls on July 2, 2026. When we found him, he was suffering terribly. A chain had become embedded around his hips, and one of the first things we did was carefully remove it. We gave him the care, love, and treatment we could, hoping that with time, his body would recover and he would finally experience the life every dog deserves.
But today, we discovered that Jouls had quietly passed away.
My heart is shattered. It hurts so much knowing that he never got the chance to truly enjoy a life free from pain and suffering.
I'm so sorry, Jouls. I'm sorry I couldn't save you. I truly did everything I could.
Thank you for trusting us during your final days. You were loved more than you will ever know.

Tonight I’m asking from the bottom of my heart… may someone notice these babies.
We are out of food again for our rescues, and I’ve been stressing over how I’m going to feed everyone tomorrow. I currently care for 76 rescued dogs and 21 rescued cats here at Stray Matters, and every single one of them depends on me for food, water, medicine, and daily care.
Some of them were abandoned. Some were neglected. Some were left to suffer on the streets. They have already experienced hunger and pain, and I’m doing everything I can to make sure they never have to go through that again.
But right now, our food supplies are running very low, and I honestly don’t know where the next bags of dog food and cat food will come from.

Hero deserves a second chance. ❤️🐾
Hero was once someone's pet—a dog owned by a student. Sadly, his family chose to let him die instead of seeking the medical care he desperately needed. They made no effort to save him.
I couldn't stand by and watch that happen.
I rushed Hero to the veterinary clinic, where his wounds were thoroughly cleaned and stitched. He was also prescribed take-home medications, and since some weren't available at the clinic, I had to purchase them elsewhere to continue his treatment.
Now, I'm asking for your help. 🙏

A huge thank you to my brother for helping rescue him and putting an end to his suffering. Because of him, this sweet boy is finally safe. ❤️
He is now under my care, and I will do everything I can to help him recover. My next step is to bring him to the vet so his wounds can be cleaned and treated properly. I also want to have his blood checked, including a CBC, to know the full extent of his condition and make sure he receives the right treatment.

Someone I know reached out to me and reported this dog, hoping I could help him. After seeing his condition, my heart broke.
This poor dog is in desperate need of immediate veterinary care. He is extremely thin, weak, and his private area is protruding from his genitals, which could be a serious medical condition that requires urgent treatment. No animal deserves to suffer like this.
I couldn't ignore him, but the truth is I am already struggling financially while caring for my rescued animals. I want to bring him to the vet as soon as possible, but I simply cannot afford the expenses on my own.

I am a solo animal rescuer from the Philippines, and today I am humbly asking for your help.

This is Sophie. I first saw her on March 12, 2026, alone and frightened while kids were throwing rocks at her. I didn’t think twice, I stepped in and brought her to safety. Along the way, some people even told me not to take her because she was “ugly.” But moments like that only made me more certain she deserved kindness, not rejection.
Today, June 11, 2026, this is Sophie now, safe, cared for, and finally experiencing what it means to be loved.
Let this be a reminder: animals feel too. If we can’t help them, the least we can do is not hurt them. And to the next generation, teach your children kindness toward all living creatures. That’s where compassion begins.

Yesterday, we received $150 in donations, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who chose to help. Every dollar makes a difference for the animals in our care.
But I want to be honest—it's incredibly difficult trying to budget everything when there is almost nothing left to budget. The stress of making sure every animal is fed, healthy, and safe weighs on me every single day.
I knew what I was getting myself into when I started rescuing. Rescue is not a temporary commitment; it is a lifetime responsibility. These animals depend on me, and I will continue fighting for them no matter how hard things get.
However, I cannot do this alone.
