ROSCOE was surrendered by his owner alongside his brother, Atlas by NO FAULT of their own. Atlas found safety with a rescue. Now ROSCOE is waiting for someone to choose him too.

Assessment includes dermatitis/contagious dermatitis. She was vaccinated with Rabies, DA2PP-V and Bordetella, dewormed, and given flea prevention. Heartworm test: Low Positive.

Terra is only 4 years old and came into an overcrowded county shelter as a stray—one of the hardest places for a dog to land. With 5–6 dogs packed into many kennels, very few volunteers, and almost no time outside, even gentle, loving dogs can become overwhelmed.

After an altercation in the stressful shelter environment, Terra was placed on a Thursday euthanasia deadline due to space. She also has a hematoma/ear infection that the shelter is treating.

8/11/2026: Manny is very sweet. He greeted me with a relaxed body, soft wagging tail. He leashed well and walked on a loose leash to and from the runs. He's slow to come out of the kennel at first but is fine once in the row hallway. Outside he does his business and sniffs neighboring dogs.

8/12/2026: Manny is great in and out of kennel. When inside he's quite and tends to keep his kennel clean. He greeted me at the front of the kennel with a soft wagging tail. He leashed well and walked to the runs with no issues. He holds a relaxed/loose body both in and out of kennel.

🚑 Medical Notes:

8/7/2026: Weighed 32.0 lbs. Possible bilateral entropion squinting with thick green ocular discharge. DA2PP-V given, dewormed, Bordetella given, heartworm test negative, and Advantage Multi given.

8/8/2026: Weighed 32.0 lbs. Dog is squinting from both eyes with thick mucoid ocular discharge covering most of the eye. The lids appear to be rolling inward. Conjunctivitis OU possibly secondary to entropion. Will treat with Erythromycin Ophthalmic ointment OU BID x 10 days.

I met Albert because as a lot of people know I love shepherds, but I also love black dogs. I also know that they for some reason have a disadvantage when they're in the shelter. They can be some of the best dogs though. Albert did not disappoint. He is incredibly calm, sweet, laid-back and well mannered. I just love his personality. He's also a beautiful dog. He walks well on his leash you're able to leash him easily. He loves taking treats and he's very gentle about it. He walked by the other kennels with no issues at all no reaction to any other dogs. We did a temperament test with him and he had no issues there either. I literally love this boy so much and I'm rooting for him in every way. There is no way that such a wonderful boy that is heartworm negative and only a year-old should be euthanized at a shelter. He's been at BARC for well over 3 weeks which unfortunately is a long time to be there. It's clear he's been a good boy at the shelter. I want so badly for this boy to make it out of the shelter. I have seen him throughout his time at BARC and I've grown to care about Albert.

7/28/26: Quinn greeted staff at the front of her kennel with a loose body, wagging tail, and soft smile. She eagerly pulled on the leash because she was excited to go outside but showed little interest in treats during the walk.

8/1/26: Quinn greeted staff with a neutral body, slow wagging tail, and soft smile. She walked nicely on a loose leash to and from the south building. While outside she became vocal and continued barking until it was time to head back inside.

💖 Quinn is a sweet, happy young girl who loves getting outside and greets people with a wagging tail and gentle smile. She enjoys her walks, is easy to handle, and simply gets excited to explore. At only two years old, Quinn deserves the chance to leave the shelter and find a family of her own.

7/31/26: Showed her belly, wagged her tail, and happily zoomed around the runs after being carried outside.

8/2/26: Initially scurried out of her kennel with an extremely low body posture and crawled to the runs. With baby talk she continued walking and returned the same way. Staff described her as very sweet but timid.

8/3/26: Very timid and submissive after being moved for adoption. She crawled to handlers, froze frequently, rolled onto her side or back, licked her lips, and responded positively to treats and gentle encouragement.

8/4/26: Approached with worried eyes and a lowered head. She froze, crawled, scurried between staff's legs, and pancaked repeatedly from fear. Despite this, she responded to treats, baby talk, and gentle petting, eventually relaxing enough to walk on her own. She sought comfort by leaning against people and hugging their legs.

8/5/26: Friendly and wiggly with a wagging tail and soft face. She army crawled in zigzags during her walk and later pulled apart the sheet covering her kennel.

8/6/26: Pippa greeted staff with a wiggly body, wagging tail, and soft open mouth. Although she frequently pancaked and army crawled while walking, she continued trying her best and eventually pulled forward on leash. She became distressed when separated from another dog, vocalizing nonstop from the other side of the wall.

💖 Pippa is a gentle, affectionate puppy whose fear is completely overshadowing her true personality. Beneath her timid exterior is a sweet girl who melts for baby talk, treats, gentle pets, and human kindness. She seeks comfort by leaning into people, wagging her tail, and even giving happy zoomies once she feels safe. At only 11 months old, Pippa deserves the chance to build confidence in a loving home instead of losing her life because she's scared.

💖 Homer is a happy, friendly boy who lights up when people approach him. He greets everyone with a loose, wiggly body and a nonstop wagging tail, walks confidently on leash, and clearly enjoys human interaction. Despite ending up at the shelter, Homer hasn't let it dull his joyful spirit. He deserves the chance to leave the shelter alive and become someone's loyal best friend.

8/3/26: Displayed worried eyes and a tense body during intake but tolerated handling with a light muzzle.

8/4/26: Pancaked in the corner of her kennel with a hard stare and tense body. Eventually walked outside but remained fearful with raised hackles, pinned ears, and tucked tail. In the runs she became more defensive, growling, whining, and trying to avoid the leash before finally allowing herself to be returned to her kennel.

8/5/26: Tense with tucked tail and whale eyes. She ignored treats, scurried out of the kennel, and kept a tight leash. In the runs she began running around trying to dodge the leash before eventually returning.

8/6/26: Found lying in the back of her kennel with whale eyes and a tense body. With gentle baby talk she slowly walked outside but remained very nervous, darting around and pulling on leash as if afraid.

8/7/26: Canela stayed in the back of her kennel with a tense body, tucked tail, and avoided the leash. She was hesitant to leave the kennel but slowly followed staff once encouraged. On the walk she stayed tucked-tailed with a tight leash and army crawled at times.

💖 Canela is a frightened young German Shepherd who is struggling to cope with the shelter environment. Her fearful behaviors are consistent with a dog who is overwhelmed, not aggressive. At only a year old, she needs the safety, patience, and reassurance of a quiet home where she can finally decompress and learn to trust again. She deserves the chance to experience kindness instead of losing her life because she is scared.

💖 Daisy Grey is a sweet puppy who clearly wants to trust people but becomes overwhelmed when she's frightened.
