Hi all, I've got unused books of IGNOU's CRS program (prolly the first semester) with me. Subject series number is MEDS 051, 052, 053, 054 and MEDSE 046 volume 1&2.

Incase anyone here wants them, would want them, or knows someone who does, lemme know. They're of the Dec 2020 Reprint

For the last 1 year I've been considering refraction surgery and was suggested ICL properly by my optham November last year because even though my cornea fit the LASIK range, -8 was too high a number he'd safely recommend it for. Sounded amazing and he said based my last tests it seems doable.

A lot was happening- with my intermittent anxiety and what not- because of which I didn't want to commit to this expense and this big change honestly until I was mentally in a better place.

Come this year and I've got a reduced soft contact intolerance, glasses not giving great acuity and starbursts and what not. I finally went to the clinic to get it all checked and he said they can check the ICL eligibility in 15-20 mins and I can decide in the coming months whether I want to do it or not.

Turns out I have slight dry eye (long work screen use) but I am eligible for ICL if I want to get them! I was so worried that despite fantasising about it I might not even be eligible but this give me a tiny bit hope.

Just wanted to share it with you all after months of being in the grey area 🥹

oddly they didn't give me the test copies (maybe I have to pay for them?) and I don't really know the numbers. I will go to two other places for the same as well

hi, I'm planning to get checked for ICL eligibility soon, been researching since last year and recently something weird has flared up for me.

my prescription is -8 and I was diagnosed with dry eyes last year. used artificial tears on and off and since a couple of months ive been taking warm compress at night which has helped a lot.

im 27 and since a few months ive also started noticing a lot of starbursts at night and even daytime especially car headlights or any other direct LED type light. its sudden. like small sparkles diffusing around a light, not streaks.

I used to use contacts once every 1 or 2 weeks but never overwore.

now im worried that ICL won't help much for this even if it gets rid of glasses. i haven't been diagnosed with astigmatism or have any other of its symptoms.

could it be because of the warm compress? or dry eyes?

🥹 any help, tip, suggestion will be helpful. everything i read about starburst is about after lasik prk so its been a big dead​ end

I brought myself a braun IPL after saving for over a year in Jan 2025 and I absolutely loved the experience. I made a detailed post on my now deactivated account but I was recommending it to everyone and I had baby soft skin after 3 months of weekly use.

Now, ive have had 2 replacements just this year because of quality issues which is the "off" part of the experience.

Bg and routine: Indian, F, very hairy, using one blade razor, scrubbing one day before IPL and glycolic acid toner on body after every 2 to 3 days

Here's a timeline:

1-3 months: weekly, I would get smooth skin but still get pesky itchy stubble over and around my thigh. KP (from a year of epilating) reduced a lot despite shaving every week.

4-7 months: weekly, BABY SOFT SKIN FOR DAYS. no more stubble, no more itching and almost no KP. would go for week long trips without issue. even bikini hair were growing slow and less.

8-10 months: still weekly, could go a few days over without feeling the need. Any hair that would grow back was v v thin and soft. But the machine started making clicking sounds. didn't think it was an issue then

11-12 months: weekly, still persistent clicking sounds and it was taking 2x more to get it done. used to take 15-20 min tops for both legs, arms, underarms and bikini area but it went to 40ish this time around.

Jan-March 2026: Decided to send for replacement. They took it but it took a long time, almost 4 weeks from pickup to new product. Used it as before because the growth was coming back more because of not doing it for over a month.

I felt the replacement was bad. It zapped and everything but 1. there was a difference in product structure (this had a wider gap between the head and the body, and it moved back and forth) and 2. I didn't use it for 4ish weeks but the reuse made my skin feel like it was back to month 1 and 2 era. Stubble and itch.

April: Complained about the gap, the head moving and they said they'll pick up for quality check. Informed me that they'll replace. Time it came within 2 weeks and I started using normally, weekly.

May-July (current): I dont understand but its been 2 replacements and I haven't found the same satisfaction I did last year. 3 months of usage, weekly, sometimes even within 5 days and my skin still has ingrown, slight KP and the stubble starts growing after 1 day of usage.

I can feel the zap, the burn, but its almost as if there's no difference on my thigh and bikini area. I'm scratching my skin every night snd have to use a lotion twice to calm it.

I'm planning on using it till August Sept to see if it makes any difference and if not then im going to put in a complaint for quality issues. At this point I feel my clicking sound making piece was WAY better, it just took a lil more time, and i should've never gotten it replaced.

I've heard that replacements have had issues on reddit as well (later 😭) (p.s. the replacements are new products- Oct 2025 manufacturing afaik)

Hello everyone, this is generally not the kind of post I make in this sub but I do want some emotional outlet and support.

One of my budgies developed a fatty tumor last august and it's grown considerably. Been to a vet already and he said surgery is an option but he won't suggest because 1, it can grow again and 2, avian vets are not the norm here and such a surgery on a small bird carries its own risks anyways. But trying to manage it however possible.

For the last one year I feel constantly covered in a haze of uncertainty, always waiting for the other shoe to drop. The fact that it's not curable/treatable makes it worse because all I can think in the back of my mind is "when?". I hate asking that. I wish there was something I could do. I hate being incapable of doing anything.

She's my baby, my first child, and she took a liking to me and now is very possessive and jealous if the other bird is on me. She's been with me through a lot and honestly, last year was difficult for other personal reasons as well. I have been going to therapy but this feeling does come up sometimes.

I don't know what's the point in making this post. Maybe I just wanted to vent a little. My brain is so tired trying to notice every little thing and fussing over her. I wish life was kinder to our pets and they could live disease free. I wish technology and medicine was advanced enough to treat everything.

hi everyone! ive been an occasional contact lens wearer for 7-8 odd years, mostly for outings or events- barely once a week/fortnight.

my prescription is high at -8 so the glass distortion made me want to wear lenses.

over the past few months ive been dealing with some dry eye because of work (tryimg to manage w drops and compresses and diet) and wearing contact lenses gives me slight glare and starburst effect in direct light even in daytime (glasses doesn't)

ive been using B&L Softlens 53 monthlies from the beginning and some people recommended dailies.

could you give me some recs for it? or maybe another brand of monthlies? 🥹 brands available in my place are B&L, cooper vision, acuve afaik.

recently came across a post of a ludhiana based influencer posting pictures of her baby on Instagram on an account in its name. its not a new trend definitely but what even is the point of this? Digital album? its just so so cringe i feel.

on top of that, the baby's photo is always covered with an emoji. 🙂 if you dont want to public your baby's face then just keep it off social media altogether no? you think nazar won't work if you put up an evil eye emoji?

social media has become a big part of our lives but to leave someone with a social media "legacy"? what has the world come to? aren't there better things you can do? as someone who regrets coming on social media in my late teens for a number of reasons, do we really think social media is a "good" and "healthy" place to give a teen?

I have been re-watching TBBT after a couple of years and this time I'm relating to the show more, and more to the characters and their relationship dynamics as presented in it.

during the time between my first and this watch I've encountered several men in my dating/family life where they find it fun and cool to make fun of their wives or S/Os or laugh when someone else does.

Somewhere in S11, when someone made a joke on Bernadette, Howard stepped up saying something like "You don't talk like that to my wife" and it just suddenly hit me.

THAT'S the kind of respect and admiration I want in my future relationship.

And I recalled so many times where it has happened before, one significant being Bernie asking Sheldon to include a "no mocking Howard" clause in their partnership contract.

They both tease each other, even quip about the other to their friends but whenever they're together, they've always presented a united front in a way that is very admirable and adorable.

I just wanted to share it as it was a very significant personal thing for me : )
